Age of the Eidolon: Insurrection (RP)

Recommended Posts

Max was finishing slashing a dummy to pieces with his summoned sword, before hearing someone approaching and greeting him, to much his surprise it was one of the well known Gold centurions, Antigone Pallas, Eidos of Athena, he was surprised nonetheless by her sudden approach, "Hey" he replied with a smile, as she introduced herself, and asked who he was, to which Skeith laughed inside Max's mind "Damn...guess being bronze is that bad huh? no one knows you" skeith commented, but Max didn't change expression, simply ignored.

"Name is Maximilian Carther, Eidos of Skeith...and a Bronze centurion" he said, his voice cracking a bit as he told her about his ranking, Skeith soon manifested himself beside him as he finished his sentence, allowing Antigone to see him, Skeith simply looked at Antigone "I wonder if Athena can hear me" Skeith spoke, only for Max to hear, "Well, here he is" Max commented with a chuckle and a smile as he looked back at Antigone, "I accept some sparring, fighting dummies can only do so much for you" he accepted with a honest smile.

"Alright!" Antigone smiled, happy to now have a sparring partner that could actually fight back. She was also happy that Athena would probably quit bothering her about finding someone else to train with now. "I'll let you make the first move." She said, hoping that she would be able to learn from Max's fighting style this way.

"Trying to assess how he battles before making a move? Not a bad strategy." Athena spoke within Antigone's mind. "Just remember to be careful. Just because he's a Bronze Centurion doesn't mean you can lower your guard against him."

I know. Antigone responded, careful not to speak out loud. You know I'm not that careless, Athena.

((I need Griffith for a meeting~))-Rias Teryn, Soren de Wynter, King Alfonse DaCosta, Daegamon, Scourge of the West, Praetor Griffth-Within each Kingdoms capital was a special device that Inazuma sent to ensure all meetings between the Give Kingdoms could be done without the need for travel. Right now Soren de Wynter of the Federation had called a Class One meeting, the designation for extremely important situations that demanded immediate solutions. Already waiting were Alfonse and Daegamon, both of whom had been vehemently ensuring Soren was following all procedures and not breaking any treaties. Soren nearly cut their feeds, but held his tongue as Rias came online. With the four there, Soren waited for Griffith of Viridian to finally get online for this meeting.-Cinder de Wynter-The purple haired warrior and her powerful Hero leapt into the fray, cutting down demon and Eidos alike. Foot soldiers began falling to the 13th's marines, the twenty four ships slaughtering the enemy forces over and over. It was a slaughter for Abraxas, the Dominion escaping mostly. The pure destructive power of the Inazuman reinforcements had caught them unaware...but then they retreated. The retreated fast, and more began dying. The 13th froze. For, approaching them...was Nyxeris. The Goddess of Night slaughtered Dominion, Federation, even her own Abraxians. They were slaughtered by dark tendrils, ones that stabbed and sliced and ripped. Angels, demons, Paladins, soldiers. None were safe.Altria readied her blade but then Nyxeris raised her hand."River of Tears...Cocytus!"From her body shot dark water. It covered so many of the Federation ships, then...then it solidified into a murky substance...like sludge. And it began decomposing the ships...the people. Screams sounded as people were decomposed alive, and as the remains crashed down, the disappeared."Icy Storm...Salatiga!" Ice spears impaled more ships, some exploding, others crashing...then the tendrils shot out to the now approaching Cinder and Altria. The former was caught fast, raised into the air eagle-spread as Altria was struck hard and thrown. The tendrils ran along Cinder's abdomen, searching along the skintight combat suit...then in a flash impaled Cinder. She cried out as blood came up her esophagus, flying out as the tendrils came out her back.Altria lost it. Her sword glowing, the air was full of little.lights...like firelies. An event the last Federation troops ran from."EXC...ALIBUR!"Nyxeris was hit dead on. Cinder was released, and Altria caught her. She leapt towards Normandy...as a massive gout of flame struck the frigate, blasting the hull in the middle. Altria yelled in surprise as surprise he crashed into the hangar, and the ships began turning...then five moved back, taking the full brunt of Salatiga.Nyxeris began slaughtering the rest. As Normandy and a sole remaining frigate ran, Nyxeris began to attack the very island.Nyxeris was going to make Chantry fall.

Kirin could see the fireworks... Inazuman ship's exploding... he didn't have any time to waste from here on in. "Alright, boys. We're riding in there, it's gonna be a rough ride. We don't have any time to waste, though. I'm opening to full boosters, keep formation and pull away as fast as you can after your first tecnique." With that, Kirin held onto the grip controls tightly, sweat poured out of his hands and into the grooves of the handles. The palms of his hand had the pattern etched into the gloves at this point from the pressure at which he held the controls.

His arms were drawn outwards on the pannels, and with a breath, he pulled the full booster system into online mode by sliding the handles towards the center, and pulling them upwards. The thrusters took a moment to come online completely, so in that time, Kirin switched the control mode to arms with the flick of a switch and grabbed the laser blades, though weak in power, and activated them and lined up for the first move. As he did, the booster come fully online. Barbados gave him the alert that his body could only handle the max booster for 10 minutes, which would force it to turn off for his safety after, but he just ignored it and lined up his attack...

It sounded like someone had fired a cannon the size of a medium-sized city.

The thrust was intense, it pushed Kirin to his limit practically in an instant of use, but it was worth it. The mech Barbados drove a fine shot through the demon of Abraxas, a clean line with both of its blades. Of couse, something like that wouldn't do much, but it was just the distraction. Next up, the old man Kan, following in Kirin's slip stream, he drove a slash into it as well, and finally, the team in the Booster flew by, getting the smallest boost out of it, but the slip stream still gave them a huge speed advantage. The ice-forming blade struck the demon as well. With each attack, the unit pitched their bodies upwards and shot straight into the sky. Kirin hoped he could at least buy enough time for the forces to recover some sort of ground. With that run completed, his team switched to ranged attacks, the grenade launcher being Kirin's weapon, he shot a number of explosive bomb rounds down onto the ground as he made an escape back into the upper atmosphere. Kan used an arc rifle and rammed multiple shots into the enemy from a range as well, and the Dark Matter didn't stop for another attack and instead moved away from the scene and towards the wreckage of some of the ships hit with ice shards, to try and help any survivors. The ship was equipped with a number of health supplies as it was far safer to use as a search and rescue ship than other options.

After he ran low on firable shots with his grenade launcher, Kirin let off his burst tickets and activated the Oger set, as well as disengaging the Silfarian set. Steam let off the body of Barbados with the loss of Silfarian. The equipment transformed into a ship-like entity and began a flight back to base.

"Kan. You know that we have a good shot of dying here. It's a demon, everything we threw at it likely only barely scratched it. You sure you are still willing to go?"

"Normally, I would say yes, Kirin. But... not this time."

Before Kirin could realize it, an Arc shot fired into Barbados, damaging the electric system. "What in hell are you doing Kan?!"

Another shot fired, and another shot charging, Barbados began to fall from the sky...

-Lucia Maxima-

While others were sparring or bathing, in her room Lucia was meditating over recent events and current situations. The current erupting battle in Chantry and the erratic nature of the Abraxus weighed on her mind. One common detail she annoyingly noted was the Viridians Neutrality. It prevented them from intervening or helping with anyone for the most part, leaving her feeling helpless while millions died. She did not care who it was who died unless it was Abraxus, she just cared that they were people and they were being slaughtered for sport....

"You should really try to focus on other things, Lucia." A voice rung in her head, distracting her from her pondering. She sighed. "Vulcan...don't you think I'm trying? I'm a positive girl but I hate seeing this..." She told her Eidolon, Vulcan, the God of Fire, who to make it more personal, manifested beside her, sitting down on the floor with her. "It is indeed worthy of your lament. But since you can't act yourself without breaking several rules and treaties, you just need to try and take your mind off of it." He advised aloud. "....it's hard, Vulcan....it really shouldn't be...the Federation should be able to help....maybe...ugh, damn those demons..." She spat, she openly despised the Principality of Abraxus, believing them all to be nothing but murderers and madmen who kill for entertainment and just for the fun of bringing nothing but ruin.

"I understand, I really do. I've never been their biggest fan either. And while you should maybe pray that at least someone survives, you'll just have to keep calm and wait and see. Hey, you never know! Maybe the Viridians might allow their warriors to take action if it gets too far! That way, you'll get your justice. But for now, that is looking unlikely and the Zadkiel probably wouldn't encourage such an act." He explained reassuringly, trying to calm her down.

She sighed again, deeply. "...all right. I'm sorry." She said. "It's quite all right, Lucia." He said with a smile, standing up and offering her a hand which she took, pulling her up. "You just need some time to gather yourself and exercise patience and restraint. You've done well thus far. Don't let yourself fall now." He said with a pat on her shoulder, which finally produced a bright smile on her face that he was familiar with. "Yeah....thank you, Vulcan." She said warmly. "It was nothing." He quipped, still smiling. He then vanished, returning to Lucia's mind and soul. "Now, I recommend you head off to train and/or spar. You could use the exercise!" He said with a jesting chuckle, but did mean the first part. She laughed. "Vulcan!" She shouted, smiling as she nodded in agreement and headed to the Sparring Area, seeing a couple of others there, she approached them.

-Max-

-Viridian sparring grounds-

Max had a small smile on his face as he spoke with Antigone, after all, having a sparring partner was beneficial in every way, he returned to his normal expression as he told him to make the first move, "alright" he said as he took a few steps back, Skeith vanishing from his side and reapearing a a short distance away, as it leaned against a wall, to watch the spar.

Max stopped at a reasonable distance of a few meters from Antigone as he summoned a sword on his hand, said sword had a red bladed edge, which glowed, this was common of most weapons he summoned with Skeith's power, this sword in particular was smaller than the average swords made for fighting, he entered his combat stance, holding the sword with his right hand behind him, "Alright here goes!" he said, as he swiftly threw the sword towards Antigone, but this wasn't just it, the sword, flashed mid way, disappearing, as Maximilian had teleported while it did so, holding another sword in his hands as he did a downward slash towards Antigone as he fell, a good ammount of power could be felt coming off of Max.

Skeith simply glanced into the new face who had just entered the Sparring grounds, but paid no mind as he returned to watching Max and Antigone's spar.

-Markus-

-Flying to Kirin's position-

Markus had gotten into the corvete class ship, although it took him long enough, because some of the people in the hangar weren't too fond of him, because he had a small hobby of tinkering with the ships at the hanger, with permission of his superiors of course, but it still annoyied most engineers when he corrected some miscalculations they had made, and he wanted to get a corvete that he himself had helped build and modify, which was hard to do, because they were nigh impossible to control due to the configurations, and a lot of paperwork for him to sign later as a result as well.

"Lets get this booted up" He said getting into the ship, and sitting in the pilot seat, as he did so he pressed in the side of his helmet, "Activate delta system integration" he said as his suit began to connect with the ship's system, integrating with it, giving the whole ship the "Delta system", which is exactly why it wasn't easy to control otherwise, it was made specifically for the delta system Markus had made, to optimize all features of its already advanced system, granted he could do it with any ship, modified or not, but it wouldnt work as well.

He soon took flight, at incredible speeds due to his self built jet system into the ship "Alright lets see where Kiring is" he said as he waved his hand in front of him, as his suit began to scan for Kirin's coordinates, following his Eidolon's data and signatures, he soon found where they were, and changed his trajectory, his suit automatically calculating the estimated time of arrival, which wasn't long, and checking if it had enough fuel to return to base after whatever it is that they were about to do was done.

After some minutes of flight he could now detect them on the Ships radar, although it was far enough that he couldnt see them visually, but he knew he wasn't far, before his suit's system detected an anormality, which was the fact that Kirin's eidolon, had sustained damage from something, which made Markus hurry up even more.

Milas approached the doorway where Ager and Griffith stood, patiently awaiting. She blushed, but saluted towards her Praetor. Ager snorted, but Griffith calmly smiled and nodded. "Excellent. Let's go in." He said, very formally. Milas could tell that he had put on his business face. It was kind of like a poker face, but with an air of superiority. Ager opened the door for them, and they all entered the conference room. Inside was the device given to them by Inazuma for meetings like these. Ager closed the door behind the trio before taking a lazy seat at the table. Griffith sat at the head as usual while Milas turned it on. It had been decided long ago that she was best suited to working the technology after Ager had broken the first one trying to turn it on. The hologram came into existence as Milas began to take her own seat next to Ager. "Hello gentlemen. What has you calling a meeting like this on such a lovely day?" Griffith said, his tone pleasant, but his face remaining regal. Ager leaned over to Milas, and whispered in her ear.

"20 denarii says it's something about Zadkiel dying a painful death."

"That's not fair, it's the only thing they could possibly talk about." Milas replied. Griffith shot them a glance that said something along the lines of 'Please be quiet before one of these very important people hears you.' Milas nodded severely while Ager merely scoffed again and leaned back in his chair. He wasn't one to give respect to these guys just because some force had put them in charge. Unless they showed him personally that they deserved his deference, he wouldn't give it to them.

Neena stabbed her blade straight through the neck of the unfortunate messenger. He definitely could have chosen a better time. She continued to lock eyesw with the leader of Abraxas. "Well, us at EREBUS are actually a little glad of the work you're doing." Neena said, gesturing outside to the carnage Nyxeris was causing. "You are certainly saving us the trouble of subjugating the Zadkiel Dominion ourselves. In any case, we thought you might want to make a deal. Even though you are almost certain to completely obliterate those Zadkiel fools on your own, it could be very very possible that those Inazuman and other outside forces are causing you a bit of trouble. And no offense, but your operation lacks... Delicacy." Neena finally pulled her blade from where it was sheathed in flesh. She flicked her wrist, and the blood flew off. The EREBUS agent slid the sword back into its place on her lower back. "So, maybe, you would like us to help you out a bit. Assassinate outside leaders, blow up important outposts, gather intelligence, any more stealthy operations you might need. In return, we ask for as much physical help you can give us. Weaponry, equipment, transportation, money, and so on. So?" Neena proposed the deal. Neena herself hated the idea of working with any Eidos, but EREBUS had seen it as a necessary evil. And if all went according to plan, it would work out anyway.

-Soren de Wynter and Rias Teryn-

Soren crossed his arms. "I called this meeting, because Zadkiel is losing. Sacellum fell not four months ago, and the loss of life is catastrophic. Zadkiel is losing this war somehow, and they need our help. Lift the treaty restrictions for the Federation's fleets, and we'll end this and return to our time of peace...because, as you should know...Zadkiel is the only reason we exist. The Dominion's prayers to the Archangel Zadkiel are why we have Eidolons. If they fall, what is stopping Abraxus from attacking you? From dropping Chantry or Basilica right into the Viridian Crater, flattening Pantheon? Or dropping a city on Orthrys. The loss of l-"

The Barbarian laughed. "You child. I expected nothing less. No one shall take down the Empire, and you are nothing more than a welp. if Zadkiel cannot defend itself, then you are nothing. Nothing, Teryn, and deserve to be gr-"

"Silence, Daegamon." Alfonse, King of Victoria, curled his lip. "Fleet Admiral de Wynter, Seraphim Teryn. I am sorry, but I just cannot take that chance. If I aggravate this...Principality, my Kingdom could fall under fire...and I just won't have that. The Kingdom of Victoria officially, and unoffiically, denies the Federation of Inazuma by all treaties the right to head to Zadkiel."

"The Empire agrees!" Daegamon bellowed.

Rias finally spoke.

"They have a Goddess."

Both Diabelia and Victoria quieted. Rias continued. "Reports say that a powerful Eidolon of darkness single-handedly obliterated twenty two Federation intelligence frigates, which were there under my request to gather intelligence for this meeting. By treaties, thirty vessels is considered an act of war - anything less is a trade convey or the like. They have this Eidolon, and you stand aside, and watch us die? It killed it's own allies. What makes you think it will leave you alone?"

"By staying away." Alfonse cut the link, and Daegamon scoffed. "One? You are weaker then even I believed." The line cut. Rias and Soren turned to Griffith.

"Praetor -of the Viridian Peristylium. We need someone of the remaining three Kingdom to back us for the majority. Allow the Federation to send real help, not a trade convey, and help us...please. We're losing this war, and if we don't gain the upper hand, soon we'll lose more cities. More cities will be as Saecellum, and shall fall."

Soren was looking at Ager, and rubbed his forehead. "You know what, with how you guard acted Griffith, I don't care. None of you care about Zadkiel, and their help. Without them, you would not be with Gaea. Your two guards, would not be with whoever they coexist with. You don't get it, none of you do. If Zadkiel falls, then we may as well have never broke free from the Imperium and it's tyranny. Abraxus might as well be the Second Coming of Belkar. Did the Genocide of Sovereign mean nothing to anyone? Thousands slaughtered, and now we spit on their graves!" He was mad. "Well, I will have no part. I refuse to leave a friend in a time of need, and I refuse to allow our saviours to be left to die," Soren's line cut, and Rias turned to Griffith.

"...What is your answer, Praetor? Soren has made his."

-Testarossa Danaan-

The Captain sat up groggily. Soren was...gone?

"...meeting..." She yawned and got out of the bed, scrounging for her things.

Dressed, she headed out, to find Soren storming out of the Conference Room. She hurried up, catching his arm. "Soren?"

"Prep the First, Third, and Seventh fleets. Move the Second, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth to the coast and spread them out. Have the Eighth, Ninth, and your Tenth Fleet move to Zero island and hold there." He turned to her. "We're breaking every treaty. We're going to save Zadkiel. It is our obligation." He reached up to grip her shoulder. "Please."

Tessa bit her lip. "At once, Admiral." She then leaned down to kiss Soren. "I hope you know what you're doing."

"I always know what I'm doing." No smile. He just turned and walked away, leaving Tessa to blink. "...what happened in that meeting?"

-Argus Drakon-

the man yawned at Neena. "Deal...." He smirks. "Force Rias Teryn to the city of Sanctuary. I have a little plan you can help accelerate, and then...I'll let you have what you want. Just ensure the Five Kingdoms burn, leaving only Abraxus, and EREBUS, standing. Oh, Nyxeris dear. Welcome back." The Goddess of Night stood silent, not a speck on her. He laughed. "And that, miss EREBUS, is how powerful Nyxeris is. She might kill her own allies, but a small price to pay...as we've..."

"Federation Thirteenth Intelligence Fleet nearly wiped out. Two frigates remain. Commanding Officer Captain Cinder de Wynter mortally wounded but escaped. Federation reinforcements turned on one another. Chantry has fallen."

Argus turned to Neena. "Chase Rias to Sanctuary. I will do the rest."

WARNING: HUGE POST EMINENT.

Barbados' weight dragged it down as Kirin pulled at the controls. "Get us back online, Barbados! We can't afford to fall from this hight!

Barbados, barely in working order, was only successful in replying to its user. "Kirin, the electrical system took heavy damage from that shot, we can't move at all due to it. I will call the rest of the team and have you escape on the Dark Matter backpack. I apologize for my failure to sense and warn you of this-"

"Shut up! I gave you an order, Barbados, pull yourself together or I'll make you!"

"S-Sorry sir... Wait- there is another Arc shot lining up on our Booster... if it hits... Sir, can you try and shoot the shot in another direction? I can only open the back hatch right now, will it be enough?"

"...It's risky. If the electicity from the Arc gun still trails back to us or the gun doesn't fire properly, we're good as dead... But we don't have any other options! Get Markus on the comms, tell him what's happened, and then put everything we have left into repairing the flight controls!"

"At once, sir."

The back panel to Barbados slid open... His father's second hand... why was he doing this?! He knew that his sight going to work... no way Kan would be that sloppy. He shouldered the rifle and looked down its shaft. "I hope my accuracy is still enough without the sigut for this..."

The crackle of energy roared kut, pushing down upon Kirin and the Barbados. With the best of his abilities, Kirin aimed his rifle and fired, he doubted such a small she'll could redirect all the electricity.. he fired again and again, his clip was empty and thus he knew if that didn't work, nothing would.

The older metal shots were struck by the lighting, twenty in all, the thunder wasn't completely redirected, but it was enough to make the blast do only minimal damage to the Backpack, by some miracle of life. "Barbados, are we still capable of recovering?"

As this occoured, Barbados contacted Markus. "Master Markus, I would like to inform you that myself and Kirin are in grave danger. Kan has turned out to be a traitor, and has done severe damage to myself and- oh! Er... my systems have been damaged again... but we've not exploded, which is the optimal part of this situation. Please, hurry, myself and Kirin cannot last another attack like this!"

With Kirin checking his status, Barbados finished the sequence. "Yes, but not optimally. We need a diffrent armor configuration, Oger has no more actual armor or energy to contender fighting in the air."

"Call for the base suit, it's the only one left right now in-tact."

"Certainly. I've managed to bring flight controls and flight boosters back online."

"What did I tell you, Barbados? You doubt yourself way too much sometimes." Kirin jumped back into the pilot's seat, and pulled the controls back up, just staying above the land above. "How is the Energy Shield and Buster Blade setup?"

"Not an optimal use for our amount of generatable power at this moment, but still operational."

"That's good enough. Coms to Kan."

"That damn boy... Barbados is too good a suit for him!" Kan yelled in annoyance. He stowed his Arc gun onto the back of the suit, and drew his long-range beam cannon, holding it with care, he took aim at Kirin and Barbados, when the power for it went back live and it pulled away. "Damn him!" He screamed. "I won't let you live!" He shouted, forcing his controls to move him right at Kirin, he switched over to a beam Saber and a laser pistol and rushed in on Kirin.

"What the hell is up with you Kan?!"

"I wanted power! I know I deserve it! But you and your damn Eidolon are just too powerful in a fair fight- so I got some help from the Zakadiel. They said as long as I didn't get in the way I could fight you here and they would help to cover it up as their managing to take control of my Eidolon somehow! So then I could steal your Eidolon, because you're not worth of such power! Neither was your father! Or that punk Soren! None of you brats deserve this power, only me!"

"You're insane, Kan!"

"I've been wronged, and I refuse to let it go on any longer!"

The pistol began firing shots at Kirin, using what minimal particles there were from the Booster, he was able to avoid the shots for the most part, and then Kan rushed him with a slash from his beam blade, the energy shield was able to stop the attack, but the strain of Barbados was apparent.

"Barbados, put everything we have right now into boosting the shield! Abd give me a sword bit!"

Kirin pushed the slash away with the shield, and the Sword bit detached from it. Kirin grabbed it with Barbados' hand and used it like a knife: stabbing Kan's suit in the center. There wasn't enough power to do major damage to the suit's cockpit, but breaking the front screen was a good move.

"Why don't you die!" Kan slashed through the Barbados' right arm and cut into it it's right leg.

"Why don't you see this is madness?!" Kirin yelled in return. "You fought with my father and myself! You've always been loyal, the only person I could say was like a father to me after my own died! Why!" Kirin used his left hand to grab and crush Kan's Eidolon's wrist, removing the threat of the beam blade, then ripped said object out of its own leg and slashed through Kan's right leg before the weapon lost power, and followed it up wit a kick.

"It was not my birthright to be a servant to any of you! I am a king, I want you all to treat me as such! Now rot in hell you insolent brat!" He fired three shots into the cockpit area.

Barbados began to drop. Plummeting to the ground below, there wasn't much left for Kan to say. He breathed hard, choking on the air his body needed to take in. "Hah... I've won. He's dead. Now to recover the Eidolon that he never deserved to own..."

Kan decedent's to the wreckage. The machine was in bad shape, but he had seen worse, with though of his love and care, Barbados would be fine for his use. In his hand, he held his own Eidolon's memory core, the only true part of an their Eidolon was that they had memory chips that lead them or their owner, with his inside of Barbados, it would become what he always wanted. He reached what was left of the cockpit- he had left enough there to keep the memory board still accessible. He reached into the trashed console, when...

Bang.

A shot straight through Kan's skull. His last thoughts were "But I... I was to be.. the King of these fools..." Before falling dead as a doornail. Kirin came out of the underside of the cockpit's last working pannel, blood smeared along his face and left arm broken. He pulled himself up onto the remains of the seat, and ordered Barbados to put his last ounce of power into contacting Markus again. "Traitor: Nuturalized. Health condition: low, I doubt I'll survive as much as a mosquito biting me. Barbados is in bad condition, a crash and destruction of most of the controls has rendered it unable to be moved. Need E-vac. Please..." His Com went dead, Kirin and Barbados out of energy to continue the fight.

(Trust Markus, he's an engineer)

Markus had tapped into Kirins coms just in time, he heard the whole thing, he stood quiet as he listened as he flew htere as fast as he could.

"What you need is to be stabilized first, e-vac will take too long" Markus said over the coms as he pressed a few buttons on the panel to his right on the pilot seat, activating the ships SoS system, which would reach to all nearby Inazuman Eidolons in range as Markus made a call to the Inazuman HQ "This is Markus, seens like we had a traitor among us, Barbados took heavy damage, nearly fatal, i'l see what I can do on the stabilizations but he needs evac." Markus said giving a boosted link to the Inazuman HQ over private channels to Soren, so he would be able to send help accordingly, if the Eidolons Kirin rounded up didnt come to help.

He got visual contact over the are, Kan's Eidolon over Barbados, as much as he hated Eidolons, he hated that one of his friends was inside one, and in danger, he soon pressed a few buttons as the corvette ship's thrusters bent vertically, giving the ship a slow descent, as Markus jumped out of the ship, suited up.

Before even getting near the crash his Delta system detected many issues on Barbados, power supply depleted, Ai power fading, life support fading, those were the most crucial, if he could get those back online he would be able to buy a lot of time for evac for Kirin.

and what better than a fully functional Eidolon, now that its Eidos was dead? he'd get court martialled for this but Kirin would have his back, it was either this inanimate piece of crap or his life, he got close enough to Barbados for a Scan, confirming if that was the problem.

"Alright..." he said before he stepped near Kan's body, only to find something, he could barely believe his eyes, it was an Eidolon's memory core, someting he'd been wanting to tinker with for ages, he soon picked it up and analyzed it, intact, in perfect shape, behind his suit's helmet Markus has a very big grin on his face, this could advance his technology even further with an Ai core, he held it for a bit before putting it in his belt, he'd have to find a small sack to put it later, but he had a job to do.

He walked behind Barbados, around where the power core would normally be, around the spinal cord area for humans, and saw the damage done as he opened the compartment, "Great...fatal damage to the core, this will only last for a few minutes" Markus murmured to himself as he then walked around Kan's eidolons's back, using his jetpack for levitation, as it was bigger than he was, he opened the compartment, and found the energy core, intact.

"Now to get this thing out..." Normally a fully functional energy core would be hard to take out, as it'd need permission from both the eidos and the eidolon to even get the thing to come out, but sinde the Eidolon was literally in his belt, and the Eidos dead, all he needed to do was bring the Eidolon's memory core near it, and the locks on the core opened with a clang, he smiled as he picked up the, relatively large power cell, which was half of his body in size, and brought it back to Barbados's, replacing the damaged core with the intact one.

He soon put a small activation link connected to it, as he soon walked to the front of Barbados, and pressed a button on his right hand's glove, with that the energy core was activated, giving Barbados a burst of energy much like tha of a defribrilation, but thousands of times stronger, possibily reactvating Barbados's core functions.

"So...how you feeling?" Markus asked, "I sorta had to mess around with a lot of stuff, but this should have bought enough time" Markus reassured, and hoped help was on the way.

"Well, my second father is dead by my hand, my Eidolon is basically a pile of scrap right now, and I'm certain half the bones in my body are broken. Just another Monday, right?" Kikin coughed, looking at Markus. "Thanks for bringing Barbados back online. I hope we can manage a repair on him soon, he's a good friend. A bit flaky at times, but a good friend, and I would hate to have him broken for too long..." He mustered the energy to look around. "Soren's gonna kill me, I took a traitor on a covert-ops and I pointed you over to here where a covert-ops was going on to save my sorry ass..." He laughed, and then tensed with pain. "Contact my Boys in the Dark Matter Booster, they got Soren's sister back to base, but she is in rough shape and I want to know if she made it out alright." He stated.

Barbados' AI came back online. The male systems were busy running what minimal repairs it could make at the moment, so the female was active for talking. "Kirin! That nearly killed me! How dare you!"

"Good to hear your voice, too, Barbados."

Markus wasted no time, just the sheer mention of the dark matter pack was enough for Markus to get on their coms

After a few minutes of speaking over the comms, he called some of them back to help on the evac, while some others informed him about Soren's sister.

He turned to Kirin "She made it back, although in rough shape as you said, she'l fine, shes strong, specially with her Eidolon by her side." Markus said with a serious tone

"I wouldnt worry about Soren chewing you out, hell he'l probably chew me out by tinkering with that Eidolon in ordet to save you, also partially because I dont have an Eidolon myself, and decided to come anyway." Markus said laughing at the end.

"Nah, you were doing as a superior officer said to and did what you needed to save a brother-in-arms. If anything he's gonna thank you for saving me." Kirin coughed."I certainly thank the man in the handsome armor." Barbados chimed in."Barbados, please, not right now."

{Magda}

Magda looked disappointed for a moment, then nodded.

"Excellent." She said. "Follow me closely."

With a pat on her neck, Talathea followed her rider's unspoken command to bank and head back to the capital. Making sure to keep a moderate pace, the dragon occasionally glanced back to make sure she wasn't leaving Cthusus behind.

For a few minutes, Magda remained silent on the return journey. She finally shifted in her saddle to look back at Alicia.

"Your record is quite impressive." She complemented. "Few, even with Eidolons, would commit to the Empire so much effort."

Both of their comm units went on - the note was the Federation E - Band...a frequency not used unless it was dire.

"To all Federation forces. This is Fleet Admiral Soren de Wynter, your commander in chief. After a meeting between the Five Kingdoms, I have come to a conclusion - Bureaucracy sucks. As of this moment, I am breaking every treaty between the Federation of Inazuma and the rest of the Five Kingdoms save for the Zadkiel Dominion." He took a breath. "Hundreds of years ago, the Temple of Mercy uplifted our prayers and hopes for freedom. Without the Zadkiel Dominion, the Belkar Imperium would still be oppressing us. And I will die before I let the sacrifice of the years go down the drain. Too many have died for me to stand aside...and I won't hold anyone to it. If you wish to not follow the direction I am bringing the Federation into, If you wish to continue, and stand by the Zadkiel Dominion, then you will find instructions with your fleet commanders. Kirin, if you hear this. Hold on. First Fleet ETA in two days. Admiral de Wynter, out."

The comm died, leaving the notion of what had just happened to the wind.

-Lucia Maxima-

Entering the sparring arena with no knowledge of some of the recent events, Lucia started training with Dummies, honing her melee skills with her Tonfas by executing combos the would cause severe damage to an unsuspecting foe, even doing rather agile attacks like flipping forward before striking. While this was good training, it wasn't....good enough, for Dummies couldn't fight back, even as she activated her Pyromancy powers and sent several fireballs at a few more and breathed fire on another, it wasn't...stimulating either. Deactivating her powers, she turned to look at the other combatants, one of which seemed to use his Eidolon alongside him rather than merging or using their powers completely. She imagined others wouldn't really like that but Lucia found that interesting, so she approached them, signalling for their attention

"Fellow Centurions, I presume? I am Lucia Maxima, Gold Centurion." She bowed with respect to them. "Anyone wish to train with me?"

(Max is a bronze centurion for a reason xD, but when he does merge with Skeith, shit gets REAL)

-Markus-

-Wreckage-

Did he just hear right? did he just get called handsome by an Ai? he blushed a bit under his helmet, he was never complimented before on his looks, as his helmet deconstructed and retracted into his suit so he could talk with Kirin face to face instead face to helmet.

"Alright two days is...too long, specially with the damage you sustained, unless we can get Barbados's thrusters back to functional state, we're not getting out of here any time soon" Markus said as he looked back at Kan's, now defunct Eidolon, "Think the thrusters on that might work? alternatively give me the private comm to your black matter squad so I can send them a distress call, see if they can come and not make us wait two days." Markus proposed a few ways of getting out of there.

Nothing on the Delta system's radar, that was good, meant there weren't any threats around.

-Alicia-

-Skies near Orthys-

Cthusus and Alicia stood a steady pace behind Magda and her Eidolon, managing to keep up in terms of speed, although they both knew Talathea wasn't flying as fast as she could,  Alicia looked at Magda with a small smile, a bit embarrassed by the sudden comment of the woman.

But she soon returned a normal expression, "My family has been loyal to the Diabellian empire for generations, im just following in their footsteps really, although there are times me and Cthusus take matters into our own hands for the better of the empire" She explained as she flew along with Magda.

"No dice. The final blow to Barbados was a set of laser pistol rounds to the cockpit, it's a wonder he didn't shoot out the dashboard controls, where I hid down in until he came here to do whatever it was with Barbados thst he wanted to do. That's when I managed to get him..." Kirin looked at Kan's corpse. "I'm sorry, old man..." He faced back towards Markus. "Our best bet would be to use your ship and the Dark Matter Backpack to carry Barbados home so we can do basic repairs and get the auto-repair working at full. The Com link is open, I told the boys to leave it open just in case one of the higher-ups needed to reach them. Being in the open comm lines would be more effecient a use of their time I thought. Hah, they would be laughing if they saw how pathetic their commander was right now." He joked. "They should be listed under "DarkM Command Line."

'DarkM Command Line', it was exactly as Kirin said, in the open channel as he browsed his computer's built in computer for the com channels, "got it", as he turned to look at his ship "I don't think the ship would be able to hold Barbados's weight, not exactly built for heavy lifting, heck it isn't even built for combat either" he said with a sigh as he established contact with the members of dark matter.

"This is Markus, a friend of Kirin, Kirin is badly injured, Barbados sustained heavy damage as well, I barely managed to stabilized them, they need evac NOW, follow the distress signal coming from me and my ship, shouldn't be too hard to detect, bring in equipment to get Barbados back to base if possible, Markus out.." Markus contacted them as he then sat down on some wreckage at the side of Barbados, "It was a traitor, nothing you could do about it, you are lucky to still be alive, heck, I thought you guys were dead when I arrived" Marks told Kirin about his arrival.

"Lets hope they come quick, I dont like standing in the middle of nowhere, specially with this war going on." He said, "Speaking of war, Abraxus seems to have a sort of almighty Eidolon on their side, got it on the coms and news, it seems to have single handledly wiped out several fleets and beat the hell out of Cynder too, how in the hell, are we supposed to fight something like that?" He asked, "Shit how the hell am I supposed to do anything against something like that, I have no Eidolon backing me up, this suit I dont think it can prevent instant death" he joked with a laugh.

"Its gonna take more." Kirin said. "I hit it with Mach 20 force slashes with twin beam sabers and it didn't flinch, not even a movement." He looked at the ship. "I can provide the thrust, I called the base suit's compact form to the location, and it can provide the power. We just need someone to control it, my arms are far from fit to touch a set of controls right now."He looked at the damaged hull. "I need more power. Any normal enemy would have at least been pushed a bit by the opening attacks. I couldn't keep up with Kan after that electrical power damage, not at all. If I hadn't faked defeat there, I would have died, no doubt. Oger couldn't even output enough energy to pierce the cockpit of Kan's suit, even with such little power, they run on the same energy waves that they always have, it should have at least pierced the hull..."He groaned, the Basic Backpack and attachments landed near-by, and the Dark Matter next to it. "As soon as we heard you called for the last armor set, we knew something was up. So we hopped up with the thing before it took off, it gets really hot in that beast but it sure flys like nothing I've ever used before, Admiral Sir!" The more outspoken of the two stated, the quiet one ran past Markus, with a nod, as if to say "thank you for helping him" as he moved. "We can handle piloting the two ships mighty fine, Kirin, Sir, get some rest.""Not like I need it, I'm already ready for round two."The soldier gave a small chuckle. "Just like this punk to be such a joker, even with have his face smashed in! I wonder how Kan ever felt the desire to destroy such a fine young man..." He wispeted, but of course Markus could pick it up. "Oi, you're... Markus, right? Lead of the that one mobile armor development division back at the lab, right? Even if you ain't, whoever you are, ya have my thanks. I can't say I care Wither way about Eidolon, but Kirin is my commander and friend, it means a lot you kept him alive. I can tow the ship ya came in, but we need someone to either fly the Dark Matter or to work on Kirin, and old shout over there ain't much if a flier, but he's a damn good medic."

Markus chuckled at Kirins epxlanation of the thing they fought at Zadkiel, "Well I guess some Eidolons are more powerful by default..." Markus stated as he walked around, as he saw the ships landing, he nodded back at the soldier who gestured to him.

He watched as they started to carry Kirin out of Barbados, "Well you certainly are, but you are at a disadvantage with so many broken bones, and possibly internal bleeding" Markus said sarcastically to complement Kirin's joke, as one raised a question to him, "Thats me yes, and not a problem, Kirin is also a friend of mine, even if we don't speak much" He told the soldier as he scanned the dark matter, 'Thats...one heck of a ship,  you barely see one of these around' he thought.

He looked at the soldier who asked him wheter he wanted to fly it or help tend to Kirin, "I'l fly the dark matter, the suit can handle more than just wounds and bullets, some heat won't do much." He assured him as he nodded to Kirin, "Alright, see you back at the base, now lets get going!" he said as he walked over to the dark matter, and took a deep breath, he was about to have the time of his life piloting it.

(FYI, the Dark Matter was the safer ship of the two xD)The soldier hooked the ship Markus came in to the Basic pack, and then connected Barbados to both of the Boosters, with minimal time, they took off. As they flew, Barbados radioed Soren, informing him that they had been picked up by Kirin's team and Markus, and are returning to base so thst they could allocate the forces where they needed to be. "Combat data analysis of the Eidolon that we were against: we couldn't do anything to it. Even if our attacks at near mach-twenty and above did nothing to it. The Dark Matter booster tested it's resistance to ice as well, it was not bothered by the ice it was hit with, and likely would not be bothered by fire as the laser energy did nothing to it. The only countermeasure I can think of at this moment would be contained heavy bombing of the corner of the continent, unleashing everything we have on the sector, and hopefully destroying either the Eidolon of the Eidos.Otherwise, it will likely be a miracle to which will defeat that monster."Meanwhile, aboard the ship, Kirin was being seen to, the machines checking his vitals were buzzing with warning signs and readings....

(I was kinda running in blind, didnt know exactly what the dark matter was until now >.<)

"Or holy based Eidolons might be able to do something, there are some Eidolons specially Viridian and Victorians that can nullify magic, pherhaps that is one way of dealing with this Eidolon you we are facing, otherwise, if it managed through fire, ice and the barrage you guys gave out without flinching, I doubt a heavy artillery bombardment might damage it, maybe weaken it enough, allowing whoever goes against it to stand a bit more even ground, nonetheless...we are in a really bad situation." Markus gave his opinion about the analysis, "For a foe of this magnitude...we would need multiple Eidolons, from multiple nations to even stand a chance, but as politics are as always, that possibility is...unlikely" he commented with a sigh.

"Question: Has the Eidos of such thing been discovered? without an Eidos, the Eidolon loses considerable power and control...that might be one of our only chances" Markus proposed.

The delta system had integrated well with the dark matter, he could analyse the ship's heat temperatures, check for any possible malfunction, and take a few notes of how it operated, on the corner of his visor though, he kept a small monitoring of Kirin's procedure, checkin if he was alright during it.

Griffith shot a glare at Ager and Milas. Ager merely shrugged while Milas seemed truly apologetic. "For the record, I didn't say I don't care!" Ager called to Soren as he left. Milas scowled at him. He surely knew that it was too late for that. Griffith shook his head and sighed.

"I apologize for their lack of grace and presentability. However, they are some of the few that I trust with my life in my own country." Griffith said in reference to his bodyguards. Ager began to say something, but a quick glance from Milas told him he shouldn't. So instead the Black Swordsman waved Griffith on.

'Praetor, tread carefully. This question was not unexpected, but depending on your answer, the entire board could be flipped.' Gaea spoke to Griffith, as he continued to meet Seraphim Teryn's eyes.

'Yes Gaea, I know. If I don't, Teryn and Soren both will hate me. But if I do, I risk gaining the ire of Abraxas. In either case, Daegamon and Alfonse will remain away from the case. However, neither choice truly benefits me at the moment.' The Praetor considered.

'Then make them.' Gaea whispery, ancient voice said before falling silent. Praetor Griffith met Seraphim Rias Teryn's with confidence.

"You and de Wynter speak only of the past and the future. Give me a reason to help in the present. Immediate rewards I'd say." Griffith said, not blinking.

Neena nodded and smiled her usual malicious grin. "Brilliant. I will contact EREBUS right away." She said, walking out of the tent. As soon as she was out of sight of Argos, she pulled out her phone. She dialed Gabe Saunders. "Hey, he agreed. I'm gonna need you to do a few things. First, contact the higher ups and tell them the news. Then tell Markus. Information like this needs to go out to all of our top agents, and he is one of them. Then, I'm going to need you to begin prepping explosives. We're taking down Teryn's location. While you're doing that I'll work on evacuating civilians. Argos told me to chase Teryn to Chantry, and well, explosions always help." She said to him, speaking quickly.

((FYI chase Teryn to SANCTUARY. Chantry just fell :) ))Rias rubbed her forehead. "There once was a time we needed no rewards. A time where we actually were friends, where our nation's helped without question. How far we have fallen. You want rewards?" She scowled. "How about repaying the debt all nations owe to Zadkiel. Without our Temple, your nations would have not been able to cry out for help. Without our patron, your nations would still be cot6ies, tribes, and a sunken pantheon. You all owe Zadkiel for your independence, your freedom." She crossed her arms. "But why should you care? We are the only reason Gaea was allowed from the Cage of Primus." Rias tapped a few things on her control panel. "And if you don't help, then what will stop Abraxus from using its godlike Eidolon to collapse the Viridian Caverns? Already Sacellum was destroyed. Chantry will fall the Ereidia, and the only thing that will save you is action. The next city could fall into your sunken city, and you'd have to love with how you let your people die by inaction. So there's your immediate reward, Praetor. The fact that inaction will cost the lived of your people." ___________The Normandy and Tenebrous landed in the courtyard of Sanctuary. Dominion medics rushed over to the clearly damaged vessels, and they found Altria trying to keep Cinder alive. "Don't you die dammit don't you dare die on me!" They found her screaming at Cinder. "You still have to ask me to the Federation Ball in four months you idiot, don't you dare die on me before then!"Cinder laughed, coughing up more blood. "You...sure know how...to make a girl keep fighting."The medics had to get their Angels to drag Altria back, and as she screamed at Cinder to not die, they began working.

(I was kinda running in blind, didnt know exactly what the dark matter was until now >.<) "Or holy based Eidolons might be able to do something, there are some Eidolons specially Viridian and Victorians that can nullify magic, pherhaps that is one way of dealing with this Eidolon you we are facing, otherwise, if it managed through fire, ice and the barrage you guys gave out without flinching, I doubt a heavy artillery bombardment might damage it, maybe weaken it enough, allowing whoever goes against it to stand a bit more even ground, nonetheless...we are in a really bad situation." Markus gave his opinion about the analysis, "For a foe of this magnitude...we would need multiple Eidolons, from multiple nations to even stand a chance, but as politics are as always, that possibility is...unlikely" he commented with a sigh.

"Duly noted in the report. No known Eidos, however, as powerful as an Edilos and Eidolon are, they must be within some decent range of one-another for orders to be carried out. This may not be the case with them, it killed very indiscriminately, but likely the Eidos would be near by as well. It would need to still be maintained to some extent in order to tell it when to start or stop.." Barbados replied. They flew, both hard and fast, eventually making it back to base...(Wait for a bit, Scrap, I have something I need to do.)
