Have you disappointed in how they do disney worlds in kh

Recommended Posts

I like kh and all but i'm little disspointed on how they did disney worlds in there games.Like when you first visited mulan world for first time i felt to me to just follw the story and add nothing new to that world. It happens in other worlds as well such as aladdin world, pride lands,100 AcreWood,Halloween Town,Atlantica. In the case of pridelands it follow story but to me scar didn't feel that evil and even changing sora didn't have disney charm that makes me love disney. To me it dosn't seem like Tetsuya Nomura even likes Disney that much.I liked the way they did handle kh 1 (i have not played bbs)but all rest just repeated world from movies and really dosn't want you to pay attention to the diney story in that world.Where Warren Spector shows he is fan of Disney and knows how to handle making Disney History by changing it up to make very crevative worlds. At the end of this i would like warren spector team to handle disney side of things and Tetsuya Nomura team handle Final Fantasy side of things but i know that won't happen

Nope, no problem. I don't see why they would change the story, what's the point of using licensed characters and worlds if you could have different worlds? Besides, there is huge attention to detail in each world, the scenery and animation is nothing short of remarkable, and worlds like Timeless River show without a doubt that the people behind Kingdom Hearts know their Disney.

So far I kind of like how they incorporated KH with disney worlds. Its better than just throwing something out there and it being bad. Seeing a disney character like Mickey or Donald holding a gun or something like that is kind of awkward in my opinion. But SE could still have some ideas that may flow with future games that they may have to run past disney for licensing and all that. Though I think that there should be some more KH or FF based worlds put in the game in some way instead of just having a KH themed world as the main characters headquarters.

No i have to disagree to attention to detain in com and days and yes timeless river showed they know something but they could have done of more foucus on there old cartoons. Also yes it was smart using story in ythe way of first game but second just repeated and annoyed me.i thought they had everything right about disney in kh 1 but all eles didn't focus on disney in that matter and when i my thead did i say i want doanld to hold gun.I love Disney and i wish they could change story to make mixs intersing when they had disney group trying to take over princess hearts thats kinda stuff i wanted more out of

You also have to consider that Disney's involved, and they're FREAKISHLY sensitive about their stuff.

look at epic mickey you can make mickey evil so they arn't that sensitive

Also people i never said i wanted Disney character dead for killing ff characters just said telling same story multple times can get boing. Also Disney characters had no real impact on days on com not counting mickey

You cant make Mickey evil, you can make him 'mischievous'. Warren constantly says he is doing his best to keep he Disney characters the same way they would be.

I don't think you're doing your research, since one game is an original franchise with Disney characters, while the other is a Disney game. Your complaint is very hard to understand due to your grammar, but from what I can tell, you basically want them to do... more? I can understand wanting more from the game, but the fact is Kingdom Hearts has its own plot, he Disney aspect really isn't drastically important, it's there to add charm to the game. Just adding Warren Spector to the whole to the whole thing won't suddenly make the stories better or unique, Epic Mickey isn't even out yet, and it's not a remarkably original story at all. Warren likes to build gameplay around choices ('Playstyle matters') so he looked at the character Mickey has had over the years. He said Mickey used to be more mischievous and he's to nice, so he brought back the mischievous character from the original cartoons. Square has arguably made more changes to Mickey by making him a badass fighter, but in both his nature is always the same.

About the Days and CoM thing, those games are built in a very different way from main titles, they both have much lower amounts of space to be used for cutscenes and levels, Square decided that their own story should take precedence over the Disney stories, so they used the data mostly for that.

The fact of the matter is that the two games you are comparing are being built almost entirely differently. Kingdom Hearts is its own game first, and a Disney game second, while Epic Mickey is a Disney game and that's it.

To note, Kingdom Hearst worlds are about fitting Sora Donald and Goofy into classic Disney movies, which is exactly what they do. In my opinion it would be cool if the worlds could have some sort of reminiscence though, since they are almost always forgotten upon leaving, and very rarely namedropped. I'd really like it to see something from one world come up again in the next world, rather than each world being an isolated incident.

In short: Just adding Warren Spector to Kingdom Hearts isn't a way to accomplish things, Nomura and Spector are very different developers. Not to mention they both come from different places in the world, and can't work side by side as such. And Nomrua doesn't control everything about the franchise.

I don't think they handled the planets badly. I mean, if they changed the stories too much I think it would turn out awkward. I think its good that they stick to the original stories of the disney movies. However, I do think they need to start using new worlds. I think after kh1 the disney aspect of kingdom hearts wasn't as good as it was in kh1. I don't think kh1 was better than the other games, I think the other games had more original plot to them. However, I think if they had made the disney worlds and stories more thorough or added some more new worlds, the other games could have been even better. However, birth by sleep seems to have handled this pretty well.

Yeah, Kingdom Hearts handled the Disney the best, without a doubt, but they kinda wrote themselves into a wall killing off the League of Disney Villains. :P

I would like to see them work together again in a future title.

edit:I Know they didn't have to space for cutssceens in days and com but worlds do feel to familar expert neverland i wish they could add to part to world

No i know mickey isn't evil in game was just saying it has point but in days, com, 2 disney really don't affect storyline of game like it was in first where in did,in loved kh 1 for league of disney villians are great idea than it was never bought back other than what pete did and it didn't affect story in way that league did kh 1.I Think following story is good in first game but i think you shouldn't change anythink drarmically just small things like when Maleficent visted oogie boggie in 2 and jafar in 1.As i see it worlds in kh were done perectly in kh,decent in kh2 and not well in com and days.Idk about BBS it looks like they handle in well in it and i ok they choose to handle story like movie becasuse that's first time am going to visit some of these worlds but it gets little boring and stale once you visit world 3 or 4 times

The Disney worlds are what pull the story together I think! Yes in most of the games it's all the same worlds following the same story. But there are not very many Disney movies to choose from. I know there are 747 but they cannot make the games to violent so those worlds are being used.

Well, I'd have to agree about the worlds being worse in CoM and Days. Days' problem was that it was an interquel, so they didn't take many plot risks at the risk of continuity errors. CoM was a retelling of past worlds, but with being able to connect to other worlds in any way. I still think they did a pretty good job of CoM, since every story is unique (Another problem with Days was that progress through a story could happen in any world at any moment, making the story disjointed)
