Some Kingdom Hearts III character modelling & texturing will be done by Praveen Dubey in India

Recommended Posts

An India-based artist named Praveen Dubey has listed Character Modelling & Texturing for Kingdom Hearts III on their resume. Praveen Dubey works for Lakshya Digital, an India-based company that specializes in outsourced asset development. It is likely, Lakshya Digital has been contracted by Square Enix to develop some assets for Kingdom Hearts III.

Praveen Dubey and Lakshya Digital have recently worked on a few major titles including Dark Souls 2 and Tekken 7.

Outsourcing is completely normal for Square Enix as their other new console titles have all been at least partly outsourced after they experienced development issues with Final Fantasy XIII. It's also a great change of pace after both Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX & Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX were fully developed by the Kingdom Hearts team only.

Thanks go to @Obsqura for the tip and NeoGAF user qualitydisc for the find.

You can view Praveen Dubey's listing of Kingdom Hearts III along with their skills and software they're proficient with on their resume below.

And people thought we might get a story trailer and actually get the game released this year. This doesn't seem to be anywhere near completion.

Exactly my thoughts. In November, we'll be lucky to get some decent concept art! : P

That's what happens when you don't outsource your HD collections.

And so, the long wait for KH3 is made even more real and apparent, even to the deluded.

Seriously, this is like...Pre-Pre-Alpha.

Story Trailer? HA. 2015 Release? HA HA.

Something coherent even resembling a Release Date? You're joking.

Point is, we're going to have to wait a LONG time. We may have waited less time if they Outsourced the HD ReMIX's.

Oh no, don't tell me Square is working on this game. How are they ever going to finish if they keep on working on it? Why do video game developers think that working on games makes them come out faster? All sarcasm aside, how come every bit of news we get, which brings us the revelation that Square Enix is working on the game, somehow means that they're gonna take even longer than we once thought? When KH III was announced, KH fans refused to except that Square was even working on the game at that point. But now that we keep getting confirmation that Square is working very hard on the game, none of you guys are willing to take it as assurance that the game isn't going to go through an eight year stall like FF15. Work means that development is making progress, not that it's being stalled. What does this news even have to do with KH III's release anyway.

A release date for 2015 or even for 2016 is like a fantasy. This isn't like AC or CoD where developement takes only 3 years. Not to mention they have tons of assets to re use for those games.

Nothing about what you said makes any sense, I'm sorry.

We knew this game would take a long time. This is just further hammering that very evident fact in.

Hell, it might go through an 8-Year Stall. We can't account for everything you know.

I'll admit that my use of sarcasm was, well bad, but what I was trying to get across was the fact that none of this news should imply to anyone that KH3 is going to take longer than we anticipated. I'm not saying a 2015 release is possible, but this news hasn't revealed anything about the game's release. All we know is that an Indian artist is working on the game, we don't know what all he's done for the game.

Allow me to reiterate: We knew this game was going to take a long time. This is just further hammering that very evident fact in.

Really, all this is doing is further supporting the fact that KH3 is going to take a very long time.

At no point did we act like we'd never thought it would take so long.

Oh, Character texturing = KH3 will take forever? Am I in 2006?

......

I am merely stating that knowing things about Textures is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

We know it is going to take forever anyway, regardless of any info that comes around to reaffirm this fact.

By the sound of things, i`ll be a freshman in college when the game is done... I`m currently a sophomore in HS...

yeah dont get your hopes up.... long ago i was a 9 year old that thought oh kh3 will be out by the time im in middle school never happened im now a freshmen in college. In all honesty I think people shouldn't state things as if they are true, I mean its alright to assume but saying "we know this game is going to forever" is a nono. the game could come out in 2 months to 8 months to a year from now. until the creator say kh3 wont be out for a long time (which i dont know if hes stated that dont kill me if he has) then we all can say "we know this game is going to take forever".Please don't :O destroy me lol

Basically make another company do something instead of you.

oh thank you this makes a lot of sense. Did they have this as an option?

Um, yes it does. It really feels like everyone these days is looking for an excuse to complain about Kingdom Hearts III not being in their houses right now. As a certain famous creator once said, "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." We've seen this kind of thing happen to other games and it's always terrible when it happens. Fans have had to wait even longer for FF15 and now it's entering it's final stages looking even better than originally promised all those years ago. Kingdom Hearts III isn't that late into development, you have to understand that expecting a release date this soon, or even getting a 2015 release date is pretty naive. And outsourcing some games could have helped too, but then several of those new developers for KH 2.5 and III never wouldn't have gotten their jobs. And honestly, I feel much better knowing that the ReMIXes where 100% Square Enix products, it feels more authentic (even if I noticed a few flaws here or there).

Seeing news about a developer's credentials really feels like just that to me, I honestly can't understand how anybody would expect this to be news related to release dates or trailers before a convention has even started yet. Everyone just needs to take news for what it is, not what it isn't, and remain patient, as even though the game won't be out this year (I'm actually praying right now that it doesn't) it will be nearing closer and closer to completion each day, and we're actually getting progress rather than years of fruitless waiting.

And considering that SE is literally giving KH3 their A-Game, it's safe to say that they've got this under control. Also, remember that KH3 is going to be featured at D23. Also, KH3 has appeared on the list of games for E3 on Wikipedia.

Despite what most people and teachers will say, I do trust Wikipedia as a resource to an extent. At least they try to make sure their sources are valid.
