Sora96 17,256 Posted April 14, 2015 The latest issue of Famitsu Weekly magazine has included an interview with Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Kingdom Hearts series. While the interview focuses on other Square Enix projects, mostly Dissidia Final Fantasy, Nomura has mentioned that the Kingdom Hearts series will be expanding to smartphones and he has more announcements coming soon. In addition development is progressing well for Kingdom Hearts III and they will be able to reveal more soon. And the smartphone idea is, well smart for lack of a better word. I'd just enjoy a non-canon KH iOS/Android game to play on the go without worrying about the complex story, regardless of how awesome it is. Peace! To be honest, I think the series is best when it tries to be canon, it kind of gives it more of a reason to stick around longer. Seeing how Chi is story driven now and it will have to be preserved for posterity, odds are they'll need a format that it can continue in for others to play. Whereas Mobile ended after about more than a year of service and it wasn't that big of a blow to anyone who used it...namely Japanese fans.
