Star Ocean 5 coming to PS4 & PS3, titled Integrity and Faithlessness

According to leaks of the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly, the Star Ocean franchise is about to be revived with it's 5th entry. It is currently in development by tri-Ace and published by Square Enix for PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 3.

 

Hiroshi Ogawa is the game's Director while Shuichi Kobayashi is serving as Producer. Character designs are being handled by Akira “Akiman” Yasuda and the Lead Programmer is Yoshiharu Gotanda.

Star Ocean 5 is being developed for PlayStation 3 and will be ported to PlayStation 4 later. It is 30% complete.

Well, I meant as in like how they made us all hyped thinking that we would get a sequel only to fool us. 

 

Also, if anyone here has played the SO series, can you tell me what makes it so great? I haven't played a SO game before and I would love to know what makes it so popular amoung the JRPG genre.

Yeah, it was a bit sad but the port's fine and I'm sure TWEWY fans would be happy to see it get more exposure.

 

I'm not sure, I haven't played The Last Hope yet.

I still need to get into that series,but I can't find a physical copy of any Star Ocean game.I saw a copy of Last Hope once,but when I came back the next day to get it,it was gone.A PSN release would be nice.

Nope. Star Ocean 5 has been in development for awhile for PS3. And this is one of their producer departments. Totally different story.
