Film Kazuyuki Ikumori would like to make a FFX movie

In an interview with Siliconera, Kazuyuki Ikumori the director of Visual Works has said he "would love to!" make another full CGI movie using Square Enix's IP library. When asked what he would personally like to make he said "I would like to make a title tied to the Final Fantasy series since it is so well known globally. I would probably pick a past title like Final Fantasy VIII or Final Fantasy X because those stories are complete and I wouldn’t want to ruin a game that is still ongoing. Since the stories in VIII and X have concluded it is easier to make those into movies and tell a story instead of trying to incorporate gameplay."

 

This follows Kazushige Nojima, the main scenario writer of Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2 writing the infamous novella and audio drama following X-2: Last Mission and saying he'd like to make a Final Fantasy X-3.

 

I really wonder what Motomu Toriyama and Yoshinori Kitase think about doing another entry in the FFX series.

You know, I would like to make a movie too, but I don't have the means to do it so I don't get excited when someone else (no matter how important or how much money they have) wants to make a movie either, because it just all talk and no action until they actually take the first step into making it real.

So here's the history

This is very interesting. I would to see that whether or not if it's FFX or FFVIII, I would like to see where the director would take the story.

It was interesting to hear about how the development for FF Spirits within and FF Advent Children almost drastically differed.

 

I think Ikumori-san just said it in passing when he said he would like to make another CGI film (Final Fantasy based) if given the chance, I wouldn't read any deeper than that though. Interestingly Mr Ikumori helped a great deal in the making of FFIX - but he didn't include FFIX in his "would love to make a CG movie out of" list.

 

If Square Enix does decide to make a CG film, I wouldn't care which FF they choose because it would still be good!

 

But you know what would blow our minds?? A Kingdom Hearts Film...if they ain't gonna make BBS Volume 2 into a game or a novel or a manga (or anything at all) - then give us a film at the very least (one that explains the time gap between BBS's end and KH1) That would make plenty of us KH babies happy!

I'm not reading any deeper than that, simply adding it to the fact another key person would like to do one.

Aww really? I thought they were the animators of the opening CGI sequences for some of the KH games

I though they were the same group involved with the secret endings 'Another Side' and 'Birth By Sleep'.

Well just because he is a Square official doesn't make him better then anyone else. He just has a job that is different from other people, it doesn't make him better then anyone else in the world. We are all born equal, meaning we are all the same but with different life styles.

Are you saying that a Square official has the same amount of credibility with someone who's not involved with Square?

 

So basically if Nomura said that he wanted to make KH4 you would say that it's the same thing as someone else who isn't involved with Square saying it?

Nothing wrong with talking about it. 

 

Unless the movie is an adaption of the game it will probably not be good. Square isn't known for its amazing stories after their merge with Enix.
