What does Unreal 4 have to do with NPCs? The limit has always been how many models can actually be made. KH1 advertises having over 100 Disney characters. That's over 100 very unique and complicated models

I imagine Twilight Town or any similar town area will have a handful of NPCs, but don't expect Disney worlds to be different

Um,the worlds have felt empty? Unreal Engine 4 is a really powerful engine, and Nomura[or Yasue] said that random NPCs will enter the fights in KH3. So there may be a LOT of NPCs. But I'm asking how many.

why are you stating your opinion as a question! And it makes sense that worlds wouldn't have many generic npc, emphasis on generic, most of these Disney movies do not have randompeople interacting with the main characters and so forth, so if you're looking for NPCs in disney world's, I doubt we will have more than we already have from KH1 and 2, but if you're talking about KH specific world's, we have plenty of NPC's in non-battle zone areas, where they should be.

power is irrelevant, it's not practical in a design heavy series like KH

it takes time to model and animate everything, having tonnes of NPCs doesn't work. If anything it;s MORE of a problem on Unreal 4 since making the models will require even more effort and detail

This isn't like Assassin's Creed where you can make a bunch of randomly generate NPCs, eahc world has a different art style, things need to be designed properly

The fact that NPCs can join your fights doesn't somehow mean that TONNES of NPCs will join your fights. If anything it's just suggesting that there'll be more than just your party members this time around. Sort of like how FF characters joined you for fights at Hollow Bastion in KH2, but presumably more emergent

Enough to fix the glaring issue that pretty much all KH games has: the worlds are barren and empty, sans some key NPCs here and there. It makes it especially awkward when, like WakingDawn pointed out, we have scenes where there is supposed to be other people around other than our main models... but they're not. The closest we've gotten to that amount of realism IMO was the small opening shot of Hollow Bastion/Radian Garden on its first visit in KH2.

Well,if we know Square Enix, they could at least try.
