Sora is much more adept at combat and basically never taking a hit than Link is, not to mention their differences in terms of magic capability. I could list several more details that would explain that Sora would win, but not feeling like it right now. If you want more explanation, quote me, or wait for a user named Riki to post, who will blow it out of the water.

Dude Sora would juggle Link in the air. And I'm just saying this because of Sora's magical abilities in KH 2.

unlike Sora, Link can't be juggled, after taking damage he becomes invulnerable for a time

Actually, it's not that far off. Though Sora would still win, likely (as Link has never had a period of time where he is completely invincible, and Sora is very, very much nearly invincible.).Also, thanks hon, I'm glad you think highly enough of my knowledge to suggest me.Now, onto the analysis.First, skills, abilities, and equipment.First of all, Link's arsonal is MASSIVE. From his hook shot to multiple boomerangs, gloves that make it nearly impossible to disarm his shield from him, an indestructible shield, bombs, a bow (with arrows and quiver) nets, slingshots, and much more. Quite honestly, he's a boy scout leader on crack, prepared for nearly everything. As he Hero of Time, he has access to all sorts of magical tools as well. The Mirror Shield reflects attacks back very well, the Hylian Shield is impenetrable, he can keep fairy's in his pockets by trapping them in bottles, the Occorina, the Wind Waker, and more. However, he by himself, cannot do magic. But with the multitude of magic-baring enemies, he can (and has, time and time again) faced magic and rose victorious from the fight. And finally, his sword, the Master Sword, created by the goddess herself, it's imbued with magical power and can do many, many things. One of the most notable, in my opinion, is definitely being able to charge itself with holy energy and fire out small waves of power. It's lightweight, but strong, and is used with a style that is a mixture of a form of fencing and usual one-handed sword attacks that you would see, giving Link his multitude of attacks, from slashes to powerful blocks and stabs, this weapon can do a lot. It's long, and thus has great reach.Next, abilities. Link himself, with none of his equipment, is a brilliant person, able to solve a multitude if puzzles in a short amount of time, courageous enough to do what any average person would say is insane if he feels it's the only way to move forward and he won't bat an eyelash and wise enough to know when and where to strike. He's an adept, fast, agile, and brilliant swordsman, his signature spin is a powerful attack. Against any average foe, he is no slouch. But now, we move onto Sora.Sora has a list of very powerful magics and tecniques, although not all of them are great attack or magics, they all serve a purpose and give him diversity in combat, much like Link's tools. In ways of equipment, he only really has the Keyblade, by canon, but the Keyblade itself is powerful. As we have seen, Sora seems to be able to transform his Keyblade now, much like other wielders, in order to deal out attacks, as well. As far as we know, however, the only transformation he can use is a set of blasters, as of right now. Sora packs light, but knows many, many attacks, many more that Link knows, as Link is bound by normal physics (though the Master Sword is great, it's very, very much grounded in simple physics) for the most part, and Sora can do a flying 1080 drill slash no problem. As a wielder of the Keyblade, it comes with certian perks, like highly increased speed, power, strength, magical abilities, and a the ability to disobey laws of diffrent world's in a lot of ways. For one, he never takes fall damage, no matter how high you fall from, and Link... yeah, he falls and breaks his knees. Gravity dosen't affect him quite like the rest of us. He also has a hightened connection to Light, Darkness, or anything in between because of it. This gives him abilities mote based in light, as that is more what Sora is about. These attacks heal, as well as deal out large, explosive amounts of damage, and Zanthansusken can even one-shot enemies, on a luck chance. The Keyblade's power gives him access to some very advanced combination and specialty tecniques we know as Limits.Limits, be them like ones from the original KH, or the team-command attacks in 2, dish out major damage. Hell, even Trinity when your on your own cuts ribbons into people. Sonic Blade, Zanthansusken, Ragnarok, Ars Arcanum, Strike Raid, and the like are all very powerful tecniques that can even ignore enemies blocking the attempt and still deal damage, or go around the block entirely in some cases. Then, factor in his Drive Forms... yeah...Also, he moves at incredible rates, his agility and speed are beyond fantastic.Link's Master Sword would carry him through a lot of attacks, but Sora can ignore shields entirly, break a person's guard, and then juggle them and blow them up in light. Link would get a few good shots in, but reguardless, Sora just hits too fast and too hard for a heavyweight fighter like Link Who dose rely a lot on his shield and injinuity to get out of a lot of sticky situations. The greatest outcome is that Sora gets hit to near death, heals, and finishes off Link then and there, even if I provide him with 6 possible potion/fairy slots and have half and half, Sora just deals too much damage to really account for much...I would like to voice, I find Link a much better character than Sora, and prefer some of the LoZ games to KH game's. I find they are a lot more fun sometimes, but reguardless, Link is just not able to counter a guy who can cleave multiple skyscrapers in half, fight something like Ansem in KH1, defeat multiple colossal enemies (and even Titans/Hurculies/Cloud/Squall), and so much more. Unless you count Hyrule Warriors as canon, Sora has faced more enemies in one fight than Link ever has, showing he can outlast him in terms of stamina as well. Anyway, I would rule this a close match, Sora victor...

Depends on the game, actually. In some certian enemies will hit for two/three blows, if you don't block/evade one of them you can get hit by the rest.

What's up with all of the sora VS. Threads lately, this is unfair pitting a slow paced fighter like link against sora, honestly if we're going to do this fairly you have to pit sora against a a character from another hack and slash like Dante, bayonetta, War/death, or Asura. Other wise if we're going to be basing this off of strict game mechanic which is apparently the trend, then sora will always win. Also, link instantly loses since the master sword can only truly hurt evil beings,...fierce deity on the other hand...maybe

Hyrule Warriors shows what Link is capable of when he's not bounded by the game mechanics of the Zelda series. The fire rod in particular is 1 of the craziest OP weapons ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eQ_H71fJvw.

If both Sora & Link were to have the fullest extent then things can get really messy with the possibilities.

Nayru's Love-A forcefield that makes Link utterly undamageable for a few minutes at the cost of a sizable chunk of MP.

Romani Chateau-A special drink that grants Link infinite MP for an indeterminable length of time (at least 3 days but could possibly be endless if not for MM's time cycle limits)

Those 2 are from separate games & couldn't be combined before. But if Link did have access to both than he could effectively become invulnerable for long as he long, making it essentially an impossibility for Sora to win.

& frankly in the end 1 of them is a punk kid whose own creator insist is just a normal boy that never learned to fight the proper way & the other is the chosen champion of the gods eternally reborn. Link is simply the more capable hero.

Invincibility in the terms of his world, however, the Keyblade dosen't obey the normal powers of the world. If it's not a tool of normal make, and is made with the laws of a diffrent world (aka a world with a specific god, whom made said tool which gives him temporary invulnerability) then it won't affect the keyblade, as the keyblade gives it's user powers that defy the laws of certian worlds. This, on top of the fact that Sora can break people's guards, then knock and juggle him around without mercy because it takes time to setup that tecnique, and it's kind of hard to use an item when being punched in the face. Also, remember, Sora basically can null damage from even explosions if he moves in the right way and avoids most of your damage reguardless. He reacts fast enough to block lasers, parry heavy slashes, and then punish opponent's for even daring to get close to him. Also, we don't know if that shield protects against the Final Fantasy style magics for sure by canon of the creator's, and since they don't exist in Link's world, it's safe to assume that they are not affected by the shield, however, as the shield was not made to resist something thst dosen't exist in their world (which is impossible, if it's not something that exists in your world there is no way to protect from it.). Also, as an assumption, despite the fact the magic elixir can make his MP infinite for a period of time, it likely cannot do it permanently, as such a strong item could have just been given to a great magic user and then used to repel the moon away in some way, not as something for the Hero of Time to just sort of abuse as a little plaything...And finally, the staff, though OP, the Keyblade can home in on an enemy and block any incoming strikes... or reflect them back... it'd not really a viable option against him, either.

We're assuming, that for this instance, the Master Sword is not limited in its ability to damage only evil, so thst both fighters are able to fight at their best.

As I've said in similar threads, both universes have totally different rules. It's pointless to ask who would win in a battle because of that. :/

Link actually can use magic in some games. Zelda 2 is the example that sticks out the most to me.

I stand corrected, but even still, most of his skills are not directly magic based attacks, mainly relying on his Master Sword to fight. Also, yesh, you can't really fight them because they both opporate off of diffrent types of mechanics, and thus makes it unbalanced.

True, I'm just pointing out that he does have some access to magic.

Thank you, someone who understands. Zelda is much more realistic in terms of combat, so it's obvious that Link wouldn't stand a chance unless the two fought with similar rules.

OK, let's forget about exact rules of magic & what not & focus on something more universal: brains vs. brawn. Sora tends to rely more on brute force than strategy 95% of the time. X X X X X Cure X X X. Link on the other hand seeks out & exploits weak points of his enemies in nearly every fight he's ever been in. In a duel between the 2 I see Link being the one that fights smarter, being more defensive while waiting for Sora to leave an opening.

Yeah, a standard rule when it comes to these vs topics needs to be established, because everyone is getting really nitpicky, especially when it goes against things in their characters favor. We honestly need to go by screw attacks death battles rules and stick primarily to feats shown within universe, not simple game mechanics such as invincibility frames, that's kind of BS, now powers that grant invulnerability for a set amount of time are okay, but frames from certain attacks,no. Power scaling should also be a factor, but that depends on how many characters can be comparable to the characters in question within their own universe)

I don't think they'd fight. They'd probably join forces, and with Sora's blitzing / social skills, and Link's puzzle solving / having the right tool for the right time, they'd probably be the world's greatest tag team. Ganon wouldn't stand a chance.
