Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted March 9, 2015 (okay guys feel free to post and also, follow this thread to stay up to date! Happy Hunting/Hiding!) It was a long cloudy day in the city of Brookshire, where on a busy street stood the Baker Street Laundromat. A young girl of seventeen exited the back room of said building, and bid her father farewell. "Papa," The young lady said. "I'm going outside." The father, busy with fixing a washing machine nodded. "Sí, nena linda. Ten cuidado por favor." He replied in his native language. With that, the young lady, named Henrietta, left the building proudly wearing a brooch of a spider on her olive green jacket. Right above her breast pocket. Henrietta sighed as she entered the busy streets. "Hopefully today will bring more answers..." She muttered underneath her breath.
TheGuide 177 Posted March 9, 2015 "Yes. I loved my father, and i hope the men behind the conspiracy that led to his assassination are brought to justice. Yes, your welcome." John stepped off the podium and walked out of the building before the media could catch up to him. He hooked a left and walked a block to his car in a low-profile pay-to-park lot where the news wouldnt think he was. he got into his car and took a deep breath. he held it for five seconds, and released. it was a trick to keep himself calm. He learned to do this after a press confrence to keep from crying. they always wanted him to talk about his dad, and it always hurt. He never did get over the death of his dad. He put the car in gear, paid his fee, and went home. it was still early, but he didnt know what to do with himself, he was a wreck. when he got home, he went out back to his shop and threw his rag over his shoulder. he put his hand on the smooth piece of metal on the far side of his shop. He never could bring himself to finish that project. He grabbed his box, and started wokring on his current piece. it was going to be a gauntlet of some kind for his bear form. He couldnt quite figure out what to do with it though. after an hour of unproductivity, he decided to go for a walk to the city to clear his head. He looked to the sky as he walked. "Dad would know what to do. He always did."
Grotesquery 603 Posted March 9, 2015 Huey walked out of the laundromat looking rather dapper for this time of year. He had recently decided to don his celebratory suit in honor of a rather special occasion that he only partially bothered to remember. After donning his intensely dignified hat, Huey began to stride down the streets confidently. "Ah, it's quite a beautiful day!" He said, gazing around at the bustling sidewalks of baker street. "Yes, such a wonderful day. The sun is bright and the birds are singing and everything simply feels as though it is aligned correctly." Huey took a deep breath and continued to think about certain things. Huey continued walking even though he didn't care much about where he was going.
TheGuide 177 Posted March 9, 2015 (they wont always be seperate posts, i just decided to do it for this one. it felt right.) Sid closed his laptop. He was working from home today because he had a tip that there might be a taboo coming through the area. He had no more info than that, so he figured hed just stay home and scope out his neighborhood. he was feeling kind of lazy today. he knew no taboo would come strolling down the block in their animal forms for him to stick, so he just grabbed his bow, snapped it to form and locked it, and went out back for a bit of practice. after a few shots, he walked down and got his arrows. all bullseyes as usual. he walked inside and plopped on the couch. "God im BORED. maybe i should go into the city. there should be something to do there." he didnt take his bow and quiver, but he strapped on his knife. He never left home with out it. He hopped in his car and drove into town. He got out and started walking. hed like to convince himself to stop thinking about taboos for a minute, and enjoy the day, but none the less he found himself looking at everyone as they passed. "come on sid. just relax. look at the birds." he thought to himself. He threw his hands behind his head and looked to the sky. he even started to whistle. Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted March 9, 2015 Kohina brushed a hand through her long, silky, silver hair. She let out a sigh as she looked outside to the loud city. Sometimes she missed living with her parents, especially days like today. Kohina stood up, humming a soft tune as she put on her nice black over-the-knee boots, and a black wool sweater. Almost everything she owned was made out of wool, and the texture didn't bother her at all. She made her way outside, and started walking off.
Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted March 9, 2015 Henrietta was walking just a few feet infront of Huey. She rummaged through her pockets, and failed to notice her ID fall out and onto the floor. She took out her bus pass and checked her watch. "Hell... I'm gonna miss the buss." She suddenly bolted ahead, and upon running a few blocks down and turning a corner, Henrietta collided right into Kohina and fell on the floor. "Agh!" She said as she rubbed her head. "I'm so sorry! Are you okay?"
Grotesquery 603 Posted March 9, 2015 Suddenly, Huey sensed a collision of terrestrial proportions occur not too far from where he stood. "My goodness!" He partially exclaimed. "That sounded hilarious! I better check and see if anyone's in a compromising position, that would be no good at all." Huey began sprinting towards what he believed to be the scene of the accident.
Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted March 9, 2015 Kohina literally barely noticed the impact, the wool was so soft, and she really didn't mind. At least the girl didn't hit Kohina's head. That would have been bad. Kohina offered a hand. "I'm fine, you seem to be in short hurry. Get going now." She said calmly, helping Henrietta up.
Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted March 9, 2015 Henrietta smiled, still oblivious to the fact that her ID was on the floor somewhere. "Thank you. My name is Henrietta." She stood up and checked her watch. She probably would've never made it anyway. "It's okay..." She said with a soft sigh. "I was trying to make it to the bus stop. It probably left already." Henrietta paused, and looked at her brooch. It seemed to be reacting to something, for she felt a strange feeling or aura radiate from it. 'That's weird...' She thought to herself.
Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted March 9, 2015 Kohina quickly picked up Henrietta's ID, handing it too her without looking at it. "I'm Kohina, and you are welcome." She said with a small bow. "Where did you need to go?" She asked.
Grotesquery 603 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Huey turned the corner to see an odd lady disconcertingly fixated upon her brooch. After noticing another lady nearby making a clear effort to socialize, Huey's clever noggin discerned that they were the ones who bumped into each-other. Huey walked over to the lady who was still invested in her jewelry and clearly spoke out. "Hello, Ma'am! My name is Huey and I want to know if you just ran into somebody." Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Kenneth lazily rested himself on the couch in his house. He stared at the ceiling with large bags under his eyes. His brother, Ted, had been arguing with him about being out of food. "Ken, come on. It's your turn to get the food this time. I did it the last, like what, twelve times?? Get off your lazy ass and do it.", Ted commanded. Kenneth simply glared at his younger brother and growled. "UGH, Okay, okay! Anything to get you to shut up!", Kenneth shouted. He lifted himself off of the couch and rubbed his head as he walked to door. "God. Just look after the place and don't wake your brother, 'kay?", he grumbled before grabbing his wallet, heading out the door and slamming it shut. He didn't bother taking the car. Kenneth walked for what seemed like hours towards the store. He sighed and looked down at the ground. However, his lack of focus caused him to harshly bump into Sid, knocking him down. "Hey!", Ken barked, darting his yellow eyes at Sid. "Watch where you're going!" Edited March 9, 2015 by Hargleblargleboo
TheGuide 177 Posted March 9, 2015 "Oh man, im sorry. i wasnt paying attention." he held out a hand to help the guy up, but his instincts had him scanning him for marks. he found something that could be a mark of a lion. got a new one. he whipped out his phone and started dialing, when in reality he was taking a picture of ken. he lifted him up and said "agian im really sorry about tha-Hey! mom! how are you? just remebered you wanted me to call you back from the other day." Pretending he was on the phone, he waved to ken and walked off. when he was out of ear shot, he pulled up the picture on his phone. "alright. i knew going into town would give me something to do." but wait sid. what if hes not a taboo? a little voice inside his head said. "Well, im gonna find out." He whispered to himself. he pulled out his phone and actually dialed. "hey kev, i need some info."
Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted March 9, 2015 Kenneth grit his teeth and glared at Sid when he was helped up. When he got back on his feet, he rudely pulled his hand away from Sid's grip. "Don't touch me.", he growled. When Sid took out his phone and started yapping into it, Ken scoffed and walked off without thanking him. "What a waste of a good three minutes... ", he thought. Ken sighed and rubbed his neck as he walked. When he did so, he felt the small, cold chain of a pendant around it. It was faintly golden and aged. At its base was a crest of a lion. His family crest. It was carefully hidden under his shirt. He casually continued on his walk to the store with his hands in his pockets. "I hope the twins back at home haven't torn anything up.", he grumbled. In all honestly, his younger brothers weren't really twins, but they sure acted as if that were the case.
Hazimie 1,595 Posted March 9, 2015 Somewhere at the coffee shop in Brookshire, there was a taxi have stopped nearby as the passenger's destination. "We have arrived. That'll be 15 bucks." the driver said as the passenger give him more than he asked for by giving 50 bucks instead. "Keep the change.I'm in a good mood." the passenger said as he get out of the cab and enter the shop. As he take a sit down after order his coffee and take a sip,he got a phone call that needs to pick up. "Hello? Rugos here." "Hey Rugos,my man! Last night was awesome! you really hit the jackpot real good. Seriously, your luck on gambling really saved our boots back there. I mean, you came out of nowhere and helped our team to win the competition at Brookshire Casino and win the prize of cash! I'll tell you what,I'll give some of this prize into your account." "So that's why you want my phone number back then. You should tell me about it that time." " *chuckle* sorry about that,we're celebrating non-stop last night that I almost forgot about it. Anyways, thanks a lot for helping us and you can call me anytime if you want my help. And for that, the Casino will always be your place. Adios!" Rugos closed his phone after the call has ended and watched the city from the window beside him. "This is the life..." Rugos said as he began to take a sip again on his coffee, where it shows that he wears a Black Diamond ring on his middle finger of his left hand, only to leave an enjoyment for the drink he have... Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted March 9, 2015 Henrietta took her ID from Kohina. "Ahh thank you! I definitely need this." She put her ID right back into her pocket. Loosing her ID could've been a disaster. "I'm going to the library to do some research." She said. "I could always go later." Suddenly, some strange fellow approached them, named Huey, asking if Henrietta bumped into someone. "Yeah... I bumped into her by accident. It's nice to meet you?" Meanwhile, a soft voice came up right next to John. "Looking at the sky isn't the wisest choice... You could walk into something." There was Delilah. She was walking along with John, picking up on his sort of solem disposition. She could sense it, which attributed to her Curse. "Of course, unless you /want/ to walk into something then I advise to continue looking up at the sky. My father walked into a pole once. He wasn't paying attention." TheGuide 177 Posted March 9, 2015 John was caught of gaurd by the soft voice. He reeled a bit and looked at the girl who proceeded to talk about her father. John would have dismissed her, but he could feel his mark under his shirt starting to....react. It was hard to explain, it felt warm somehow. "Could it mean something?" He thought to himself. He decided to try to keep up a conversation with the girl. But he was garbage at talking to girls. "Um.....that's..... Unfortunate. For your father I mean. You seem.... Perfectly .....okay..... Um no, I'm not trying to walk into anything. I was working on something earlier and was at a loss for ideas. What brings you to town?"
Grotesquery 603 Posted March 9, 2015 "Yeah, it's nice to meet you, too!" Huey replied energetically. "It's absolutely wonderful to meet new people." Huey pointed directly at the girl who had been talking with him, which normally would have been considered rude but Huey thought they could move past that. "I've got a good feeling about you, lady! Yep, I can just tell that you and I are going to make some pretty strange things happen, one way or another." Suddenly, Huey's stopwatch started blaring. Huey looked away, uncharacteristically annoyed. "Oh, sorry, but it looks like I have to go for now." Huey turned and began running in the opposite direction. "It was nice meeting you, whoever you are! I hope that the next time we cross paths, I can get your name!" Huey then disappeared into the teeming masses. Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted March 9, 2015 Maximilian was simply walking along, minding his own business, he had to check his watch and cellphone. "No calls yet..." he whispered in an annoyied tone as he crossed Huey, bumping shoulders at him by accident, but not losing his balance, he simply looked back at him, but quickly rolled his eyes as he turned back and kept on walking forward, in order for him to get home he'd either need a taxi, or a bus. He was short on money so a taxi was out of the question, as much as he hated travelling by bus. He crossed Henrietta and Kohina, which seemed to be who the man who bumped into him was speaking to, his expression calm and normal as always, "Everyone is so busy and late nowadays, thats about the third time I get bumped into today" he commented looking unamused as always, he wasn't having the best of days. Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted March 9, 2015 Delilah wasn't really caught off guard by John's strange behavior. She answered his question. "I live here." She said. "I was just in my study at my home, and I decided to come outside for a walk." She gripped her earring, taking it off for a moment. Her fangs grew, but she hid it. She could see thermally, noticing the heated spot underneath John's shirt. "I guess the same goes for you?" Meanwhile Henrietta watched as Huey ran off. That was very... Weird. She looked to her newfound friend Kohina. Henrietta could catch a cab, but she didn't want to waste the money. "What are you doing out here?" She asked. Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted March 9, 2015 "Just taking a walk, it's a nice day." Kohina said with a smile. She looked to Henrietta, they looked so different it was almost crazy. "Where were you off too?" She asked.
TheGuide 177 Posted March 9, 2015 When deliah took off her earring, john could feel the heat from his mark intensifying. There was no mistaking it, this girl was a taboo like him. but how could he tell her he was one too? He decided to play it off and wait for a better opportunity. "yeah. being in that workshop wasnt getting me anywhere. I like the city. all the white noise helps me clear my head."
Silvia Kuroi 1,480 Posted March 9, 2015 "No work today," Mikhail said to himself, "What to do?" The days were boring when there wasn't anything to do. Mikhail always felt restless. He had to have something in his hands. Something to work on and work with. So it annoyed him when he didn't have a thing to do. It was only at night time that things got interesting...and Mikhail couldn't do his 'night job' during the day. Not if he wanted to be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law for murder. Mikhail walked, a hot coffee in hand, as aimlessly as he could. His and could only wander as he did so. Perhaps he could mark some new targets today. The day hours were perfect for scouting out his next hunt.
Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted March 9, 2015 "I was off to the library." Henrietta said with a smile as well. "I don't need to go right now though. It can wait." She looked at her watch. She was right; it could definitely wait. Henrietta had all day to go to the library. Meanwhile, Delilah noticed Mikhail out of the corner of her eye. There was something peculiar about him. She could tell. She suddenly put back on her earring. It was an earring of a snake. She grabbed John's hand and said with a smile, "How about we walk some more?" She tugged John along down the sidewalk.
TheGuide 177 Posted March 9, 2015 "Uh-huh. got it thanks kev. can always count on you." Sid ended the call and looked at the message from his informant. "okay.....Kenneth Cromely......22.....okay. got an adress. oh, and it says here he had an incident in his youth when an assassin attacked him and his family. hmm. could have been a hunter attack, and either way he made it, so he tough. better be careful with this one. Ill have to scope out his place later." Sid slid his phone in his pocket. he didnt have anything to do for the rest of the day, so he decided to kepp walking and see what else would walk into him.
