Would Kingdom Hearts be better if Final Fantasy and Disney features were taken out?

Not stupid, it's a valid question,

While it would be possible to make a KH game using only the original content we already have in the series, it woudl kind of defeat the purpose of the series. In fact I think the FF presence needs to return. It hasn't been the same without it.

Kingdom Hearts owes its very existence to both franchises. To take them away would take away a lot of the magic. I could see them developing only original worlds and characters but it wouldn't be the same.

It's probably hard for us to imagine those charecters substituted at this point, but I don't think many things would change if we had original KH characters, after all, each character plays their own role, and these roles can't be changed, otherwise, we're changing KH.

If they weren't there in the first place? Well, maybe. It could probably have an identity of its own if they worked it right. But let's face it, it's really hard to imagine. Both aspects of the series have given it so much foundation to build itself from. Without those, it would probably feel like a different series altogether.

 

If they were taken away right now? Um, yeah I think it's a resounding NO. Why would you ever want to rip that foundation out?

Kingdom Hearts is just fine the way it is.  The Disney and Final Fantasy elements are what make the series what it is today.  That's the quality that gives the series so much mystifying magic!  To take that away would be very sad!  Because seriously, you're never going to see Mickey killing creatures of darkness anywhere else but in the Kingdom Hearts series!

It would lose so much of its charm and uniqueness. Although I do think the need to rework how they work those worlds in. Like  I couldn't stand how they handled plots and stories in the worlds in 3D. It was rushed and the writing wasn't as good or as tight as say KH2. I was very disappointed- especially with how they handled Hunchbacks world. I think the game is better for having the Disney worlds, but they really need to put a lot more effort back into how they handle those worlds really.
