Kristy looked up at the giant jumping at her with fists closing down on her.  "No way!  I can't..."  She closed her eyes, thinking she was good as dead.  But she didn't feel anything crush down on her.  Opening her eyes, she sees Reverie putting up some kind of protection field.  Then she sees him fire from a sort of cannon.  Both amazed and a little scared, she replies: "Uh yes we're fine.  Thank you for that."  After Sora let go, Kristy stands up and gazes at the attacker.  "That's supposed to be a doll?!?  It's so huge!"  Kristy wondered what she could do against the thing.  She looks down on the ground, then to her left hand.  "Maybe if I tried that aura thing I can help fight it.  But can I make it again?  Only one way to find out." 

 

Kristy places her left hand on the ground.  She hoped that the aura from before would form.  The segment she put her hand on crumbled away into bits and she begins to glow yellow.  Shouting "Alright!", she comes up and faces the creature.  Kristy point her right palm at the thing and places her left hand on her right arm.  "Come on.  Do something!  Please!"  An orb forms in Kristy's palm, and a beam launches out of it.  The beam hits the giants' torso, or so it looked like.  Kristy shouts:  "Whoa!", now firing at the giants' legs, trying to kneel it down.

Reverie fired the cannon towards the behemoth,hoping to push it back with a powerful strength to pull it off. "You guys alright?" Reverie asked Liath and Kristy,hoping that both of them are okay.

"I'm quite alright, thank you." Liath replied. He had a million questions on his mind... well, more like 173, but for now, he had to focus on how to kill this thing before it killed him. Or anyone else, preferably. 

"Do you know how I work, sir?" Mr. It asked.

 

[Oddly enough, yes.] Liath replied. He than turned his back on the others and ran into the nearby  building, which from the looks of things was probably a sandwich shop. Not long after this, a nine foot tall robot with the body of a vending machine smashed through the doors, broke off a stop sign by the corner, and hurled it like a javelin at the doll's face.

 

Liath then casually walked through where the door to the building was, straightening his bow tie. "Well then, this has gotten quite interesting." Liath said, surveying the chaotic and delightfully absurd battle being waged in front of him.

(This doesn't count as an update post, which will be coming tomorrow just to be sure everyone can catch up, I'm just introducing a new player)

 

As the people at crest fought off the three strange human creatures attacking them, on the other corner of the building lay a young man only just awakening from his slumber. He heard the voice of Q explain what she had already said to the others, and with that his eyes opened up, and he was greeted with the City. Pure white everywhere. Just on the other side of the pure white building he was leaned up against he could hear fighting...

 

It was time for Nathan to join the fray.

Nathan groaned in his sleep, his slumber coming to an end at the sound of violence and destruction as well as the sound of what seemed like a goddess like voice. HIs eyes flickered open to find a world of white awaiting him. "... What is this?" Still feeling extraordinarily drowsy, the young man slowly got to his feet while leaning against the wall for support. Looking around, Nathan took in his surrounding and found nothing except glowing white buildings. Several 'messages' began playing his head about powers and dolls, but none of it made any sense to him until he finally caught sight of other human beings fighting against enormous creatures. Deciding not to involve himself immediately, he took shelter behind a building and peered out from the corner. "They're definitely human, but they're wielding powers of the likes I've never seen. Is this what Q meant? If so, then the rules should also apply to me." Nathan looked at his hand as he could definitely feel some kind of change within his body, but failed to see anything specific. "Perhaps my powers can't be seen with the naked eye. In that case, it might be some kind of force. For now, I'll just see what these guys are going to do. I'm not doing anything rash until I've at least established my surroundings." Nathan began chuckling to himself mischievously, something that he had not done in many years. "I have a feeling that this is going to get interesting."

"Looks like more secrets have been revealed..." Reverie said as many people began to awaken the power one by one. "Blades of the Damn World..." Reverie began to use his power by gathering the dark energy around his right arm to transform into a black demonic sword. Then, he began to run towards the behemoth while shooting his cannon from his left arm and immediately slash it's body after he finally approach to it,hoping that his attacks might taken it down...

The behemoth in Haven screeched an inhuman screech as it was struck with the attacks of Reverie, Wlynn, Kristy, and the bullets of Sora and Jason. It was nearly finished, but in a final blood rage it turned its eyes to Sora, who has unleashed an incredible attack on it, and it leaped into the air, then diving directly for her, it's gargantuan hands turning into fists and i slammed down on the ground where Sora stood...

 

The beasts of Solace were nearly finished. After the attacks from Natasha, Ailder, Maxwell, Yuki, Jordan, and, of course the sweet and brutal recipe of Le Chef only two of the five remained. The two peered at each other with their eyeless faced, and then both turned directly towards Le Chef, and jumped at him, clawing viciously with their pure white nails in a mix of screeching and what sounds like screaming.

 

In Crest one of the slender creatures fell to the ground dead after the party's prolonged attacks. The other two skittered about around the party, then converging on Asher and Aro, with one creature attacking each. The snaked their way to the two in moments and grabbed firm hold of them, bashing at them with their head and clawing with their hands. The rest of the party would have to act fast.

 

As all of this happened Jay Caliburn heard her voice ((check the opening post for the details on what Q said)) and woke to darkness.

 

"Welcome." the female voice began. "Welcome, other... You are the one who's ability is not your own. As I have explained, you have arrived here in the City, and you are not along." Three screens appeared in the pitch black, showing the three different groups of humans fighting the dolls at this moment. "You have been chosen by the City to begin your stay here separated, but soon you will have new comrades. Look carefully as they fight. These powers could be yours. Any one of them."

 

The room he was in brightened to show a pure white cube that he now found himself in. The screens seemed to be mere projections, but from where he could not tell.

 

"You shall meet them soon, but for the moment, as you are the only guest that The City is not trying to destroy, I wish to ask you something..."

 

Q let the silence linger in the air of pure white room.

 

"Do you know why you are here?"

"LET GOOOO!!!" Yuki flipped over the Doll onto the other one and blasted them both with a Sun Orb! Now only 2 more remain and then they were heading over to Le Chef!

"Chef! Look out!" Yuki quickly ran in front of Le Chef to protect him and shot 2 Sun orbs at the Dolls, knocking them down! "Phew! That's that!" The Dolls got back up. "Oh Come on! A little help here guys!"

Maxwell sighed annoyied as he saw the two beasts left, he had thought they got all of them, but apparently not, having Yuki's cloud on him, he then saw them running towards le chef, while letting out mad screeching that also seemed like screaming with just weirded him out.

 

He looked at Yuki intercepting the dolls as he let out a small smile in approval as he looked back at Ailder and gave out a nod, he quickly extended his hand upwards into Yuki's cloud, absorbing all the electricity from it, making the cloud vanish as he was now supercharged and he'd stay like that for some time as he dashed over to where the two knocked down doll beasts were.

 

He quickly sheathed his sword as he held both his hands towards the dolls, in the supercharged state that he was he was able to start firing lightning from his hands, keepign a steady stream of lightning aat the dolls, constantly electrifying them and keeping them on the ground while doing damage. "Now!" he shouted as he kept the dolls stunned on the ground.

(you all knew that sith lightning was going to come eventually )

It was safe to say that, after testing his powers, finding them satisfactory, and dispatching one of the creatures with ease, Le Chef fell into the trap laid for those who spend a bit too much time congratulating themselves for being clever: he forgot that the fight wasn't over. As such, he had neither the time nor wherewithal to react with anything resembling cleverness when the other two creatures suddenly jumped him, tackling him to the ground and began biting him. Matching their screams with a cry of his own, Le Chef stabbed violently at the beasts, trying to inflict any kind of wounds he could. Though perhaps not as fit as some of the others in their group, the Frenchman has been in his own share of street fights, and was able to score a few hits. However, the scratches, bites, and clawing began to take their toll, and Le Chef was forced to recognize that he being savaged rather badly. Thankfully, whatever bizarre sentient being dragged them all to this place finally seemed to have made at least one good decision, as the group was able to save him before it was too late, with Yuki and Maxwell managing to take the fight to the monsters and away from the cook. Sighing with relief for a moment, Le Chef tried to drag his bleeding body slightly to the curb of the road, hoping to take himself out of the fight at least long enough to not bleed out.

Noticing the two Slenders grabbing Aro and Asher Tristan noticed something else skidding off behind a building and slightly sticking its head out to watch the situation "(Another person wonder was he brought in the make up for the other one who never woke up and if that's the case why's he hiding, hum)" slightly looking towards the person hiding himself Tristan looked as if he was glaring "(Dammit he should come out so i can make fun of him to! Owe wait theirs those two though)" looking back to Aro and Asher who we're being bind by the to Slenders Tristan hesitated for a moment to move "(I could either help Aro should probably do it to say sorry for earlier i guess or i could save Asher's ass and hold it over him, hum)" An evil grin filled Tristan's face he then looked to Alysa "If you'll excuse me for a minute Madam!" Speaking in a posh voice and winking to her as he moved off Tristan ran over to Asher and the Slender holding him "This might be a little hot for you but you have fire powers to so I'm sure you can deal with it Asher HEHE!" smirking as he spoke to Asher as he near reached him flames began to run along Tristan's arms "Lets try this shall we Flaming Eruption!" just as he reached Asher Tristan smashed his two fists into the ground and pumped the ground beneath Asher's feet with flames the flames built up for a moment until they burst out of the ground under Asher engulfing both him and the Slender the pressure from the flames bursting from the ground caused it to be forced away from Asher and high into the air "Hey anyone with a power that has a hard material property do me a solid finish that one off I already gave it a good toasting justs needs that nice hard blow to finish it i'd say!" the the Slender flew throw the air after Tristan's attack Tristan stood face to face with Asher as the flames from Tristan's last attack died down Tristan smirked at Asher "So was it hot enough in their for ya?"

" *gasp* Chef!" Yuki rushed towards Le Chef, looking at his wounds. He raised his hand in the air, a bright light started to lit up and shot out a bright Sun Orb to heal Le Chef's wounds. "There. I gave you a Sun Orb to heal you." He then kneeled down. "Although....To make that kind of Sun Orb to heal your wounds.....*pant* I needed to use some of my energy to do it...*pant* *pant* *pant*" Yuki needed a chance to breath and rest after healing Le Chef.

I covered my ears when the behemoth let out its screech.  "I think we're close to beating it thanks to that awful noise!"  Uncovering my ears, I see the thing jump and dive for Sora.  Shouting:  "Sora!", I ran as fast as I could to her spot.  With the behemoths' fists closing in, I shove Sora out of harms way and crashed on my left arm.  Holding it carefully, I say:  "Sora, are you okay?  Anything hurt?"

Considering Tristan had gone to help Asher instead, Aro was left to her own devices. Her first idea was to see what exactly these dolls were made of; so she attempted to absorb its matter into her being and allow her to use the obtained matter against the doll.

That didn't work. The doll, apparently, was organic and sentient in some way, which prevent her from repelling it that way.

"Damn it..." She hissed, having to absorb the ground beneath her and the doll, and ramped up her internal energy to the point that she actually began to heat up. She brought her hands together and pointed them both up and over her head.

 

"Git off!" She snapped, and from her hand fire a thin, but powerful beam that shot straight through the Doll's body.

Maxwell glanced over at le chef as he kept the beasts stunned with a potent and steadily continuous stream of lightning from his hands, glad that Yuki has rushed over to heal him in time.

 

He wasn't about to run out of charge for a while, although they'd need to finish this quick, "Ailder, you're up!" he shouted at him. as he intensified the stream of lightning to stun the beasts even more as they flailed and twitched on the ground from the electricity.

"Got it!" He had to hit them, and hit them hard. "I know...!" He again took to the air, another leaping kick, feeling his anger bouil up, he threw another diving kick right at them, spinning as he did. The electricity bent around his magnetic field, pushing it away from him and back at the beasts as his kick landed on one of them. He changed it's polarity to that of a negative, as well as his kicking leg, and the floor, the crushing pressure, which lasted only a minute, hurt Ailder, he cried in pain, however the beast had it worse. Being between two, large, fields of magnetic energy that it was the same as? Not good. The beast tore in half at the pressure from the kick and thunder strike being used simultaneously to hit it. The lower half of the body struck the other one with the force of the explosion, and Ailder flipped himself backwards after the hit, alternating to his other leg, he slammed it down with the same maneuver. He, however, wasn't as lucky with this blow. His ankle snapped from the force of it, and he shot off, into the street.

 

"Aaah!" He screamed, slamming into the pavement. This is where he discovered his last talent. The area around his leg began to stop hurting, and in fact, heal slightly. "M-my body... Do I... have the ability... to manipulate... the interactions of things as well...?" He thought, letting the numbness of his leg wash over him for an instant.

 

(To clarify, no, he isn't completely healed. In fact, this only slightly speeds up repairing of the tissue and causing of the chemical that causes pain to instead generate a numbing effect on Ailder when he experiences pain. Eventually he will be able to increase a person's natural regeneration rate slightly, increasing it so that they can heal slightly faster (I.E., if you have a very bad disease, it will heal you faster than the disease can do harm, when he maxes this talent out)

Sora let go and was backing up, but too slowly...then Kristy shoved her out of the way. As the girl cradled her arm, Sora crawled over.

"No..." She teared up, but held her cool..."I'm fine, sorry...she saw how Kristy held her arm.

Then she stood up, and looked up to the Doll. She kicked up a rod from the ground, and as she set it on her shoulder. it transformed into a bazooka...which she immediately fired at the Doll.

She dropped it, unsure of how to reload it, She knelt by Kristy, and tried helping her up. "We need to move..."

"!" Maxwell tried to react to Ailder's fall but he couldn't, in time as he looked over to the other beast, which was still alive, which was somehow, barely getting up after all of that punishment, "damn" he whispered to himself.

 

He still had some charge left and he figured he should use the last of it to finish it off, he quickly charged whatever he could muster as he turned into lightning and dashed upwards towards a buildings wall, as he quickly bounced off the wall and gaining even more height as he divebombed to the creature's position, creating a big shockwave of lightning as he did, the blow was strong enough to completely destroy the beasts body, charred and destroyed, only some small parts remained from the dive bomb.

 

However Maxwell didn't come out of that unscathed, he broke his arm from the impact as he slammed into the beast, he limped out of the now small charred crater from the blast with very little energy,stamina and charge left, he fell to one knee as he looked at his arm.

 

However what was left of his electric energy was coursing around his arm, as if healing it,although at a slow pace...pherhaps if he had more electricity it'd be quicker..."hm..." he then looked over at Aldier's leg as he approached him, "Hey nice kick" he commented.

"Oh man......Sun Hospital on the way!" Yuki blew out a cloud and rid it over to the Ailder first and started healing his leg. Once that was done, he rid it over to Max and started healing his arm as well. After that was done, he kneeled once again and pants. "Don't worry. I just need to rest.....Hoo! That was pretty tense...." Yuki was happy enough to heal his friends.

Nathan watched as the dolls in the area were slowly being defeated by both Aro and Tristan. His gaze remaining on the doll that had been launched skyward, Nathan's mind began processing the whole situation around him. "I am in a city filled with strange creatures and even stranger people who are capable of summoning flames or firing lasers from their palms. This world is already much more exciting than the dull life that awaited me back in the human world. Could this be the land of the gods? If so..." Nathan clenched his hand into a tightly compacted fist. "... I'll just have to become god." Nathan rose his hand into the air, angling his fingers with the body of the air-borne doll. "For now however, I'll have to make do with these simpletons as companions. I may have potential, but my current power is far from being strong enough for me to begin conquering this world on my own. Just for once, I have one simple request." Nathan slammed his arm downwards, noticing that the doll also came rushing down to the ground at an increased speed. "Please don't let them be imbeciles." Nathan stuck both of his hands in his pockets and walked out into the open, slowly approaching the group while maintaining a noticeable 'territory' around himself. Staying as calm and as reserved as ever, Nathan looked over each and everyone in turn before introducing himself. "Greetings. My name is Nathan. Before you ask, no, you may not call me 'Nate' and I certainly will not become 'friends' with any of you. Regardless, I am afraid that I am inclined to... co-operate with you. Therefore, I will ask you all now. Do you require any assistance?"

With her arm the way it is, Kristy tried using her aura to heal it.  But nothing happened to it.  It didn't do anything similar like she figured it did for Sora.  Mumbling:  "Huh?  Why isn't it working?"  Being helped out by Sora, Kristy nodded and said:  "Right."  She got up, walking as far as she could.

"Tch. Punk." Alysa muttered to herself after Tristan had ran off to help Asher. Seeing that Aro was more than capable of destroying her personal beast, Alysa still could not help but dash over, and tap the ground underneath the slender doll with her sword, producing a large spike that pierced through the doll. Alysa smiled at the shish ka bobbed enemy. It was quite satisfying. Unfortunately... the small group was graced by the appearance of a new lovely crew member. He seemed to also be a fan of air quotes and stilted language. She rolled her eyes. The Fencer already hated him too. "Whatever Nate. Not so delightful to meet you." Alysa said, her tone rather droll and bland, purposely so as to meet him. She would be happy to go over and show him what she was capable of as well, but for now, if he refrained from being any more obnoxious or obtrusive.

Asher obviously was pissed off even more at Tristan.

"I DIDN'T NEED HELP!! I AM A MAN! I CAN FEND FOR MYSELF!!" Asher suddenly yelled at Tristan.

The flames didn't burn him at least.

"But Thanks..." he muttered.

Asher made his way to Aro, giving her a clap.

"You're pretty strong, I like that."

Nathan frowned at Alysa, obviously displeased with her poor attitude and lack of any kind of manners. In his eyes, if either of them were obnoxious, then it would be her. "Well, I offered you my help and it's clear that you don't want it. Very well, I shall leave you to die should you ever find yourself in trouble. Simply put, I do not care about you either way, but I am still willing to grant you a chance to apologise to me for your rude demeanor. If not, I'll swiftly move onto your replacement." Nathan smirked a little as he looked around at the other 'candidates'. "Considering you couldn't even get my name right, I am willing to bet that you are the dumb one in the group. Of course, if you could not even follow one simple command, then how could you possibly possess any sort of intelligence? Such a notion is absurd of course, therefore your brain must not even be larger than the nail on my index finger." Nathan looked at his hand and smiled. "Not only that, my hand looks three times as attractive as you are. Good day." Nathan simply passed Alysa without batting an eye at her. Turning his attention towards Asher, Aro and Tristan as they seemed to argue, Nathan remained several feet from them in a semi-insulting manner, indicating that he did not wish the idiocy of the group to come any closer to him than what he had already exposed himself to. "I take it back. If this is what I have to deal with until I become god, I may just have to kill them and then myself." Nathan thought, letting out an almost depressed sounding sigh.

(Liath attacked the behemoth too albeit indirectly. Oh well, I'll just improvise.)

 

As everyone else's epic and flashy attacks landed on their intended target, the stop sign thrown by Mr. It simply whizzed by the creatures head, missing entirely. "It, what the heck!" Liath shouted at the vending machine.

 

"Sorry sir, still getting the hang of things."

 

[understandable.] Liath thought to his new companion, [...perhaps the situation calls  melee weapon.]

 

"On it, sir!" The vending machine then ripped a street light from the ground, and swung it baseball bat style into the middle of the creature's back. The light was a lot heavier than the sign, slowing down Mr. It quite a bit, but with the giant distracted by the others, it wasn't a very hard target to hit.

With Liath's attack and the peppering of blows the other had given it, the Behemoth collapsed in the streets of Haven. The battle had been won.

 

The two beast-dolls were easily decimated after the entirety of the Solace group had teamed up to contest them. Now there was only the matter of Le Chef to deal with...

 

The two remaining slender dolls fell to the ground, tattered, sparking, and motionless in Crest. The group had now a moment of respite.

 

But this rest did not last long for any of the three parties. Suddenly, comets could be seen appearing in the pure white sky and flying into the City's streets, out of view due to the buildings, but nonetheless all around.

 

"You have woken it up." Q's voice appeared once more in their minds. "The City is now ready to contest you, and you are ready to respond. Now I may tell you all the final truth about your powers; they are not merely for beating monsters and facing challenges, they are also for reconstructing the very nature of the reality around you. With these powers, you can bring life to the City itself."

 

As if in silent agreement with her words, the buildings around each group began to fade from their natural white into various colors; silvers and deep reds and slick blues. The colors were still very light, but they were there!

 

"You have done this. By acting in the face of danger and building your future for yourself you are deconstructing and reconstructing the foundation of this City itself. And this is only the beginning. Each district of this city has what is known as a Trial. The Trials are where the energy of each district coalesces and by going there and facing the dangers that are crafted by that energy you can transform the entirety of each district to one of color and life. Each trial will also carry information that will illuminate more of what the truth of your being here is. This is the task before you..."

 

The comets continued to rain down all around each group and Q moved on to the next point.

 

"What you see around you is the attempted invasion of this hallowed place by forces that do not belong. These will also be great threats worthy of striking out against. These invasion forces come in the form of these comets, and thus their presence shall be known as the StarFalls. Each Trial and each StarFall shall be different, requiring different strengths and skills of each of you, and each comes with a unique reward should you best it. Both Trials and StarFalls will give you information, but while Trials shall renew a district's life, StarFalls shall show you new potential for your powers."

 

Suddenly, around each group four huge walls raised up, sealing them all into small areas...

 

"Finally are these events, referred to as The Unknown. The City has many secrets that not even I understand and these are one of them. Of all three events, they are most strange and most dangerous. They are manifestations of the City itself acting against you. I can feel its will, and here it wishes each of you to make a choice. You are about to be given freedom. Freedom to explore the City however you wish, with whoever you desire, and to build the adventure you want, but before this can happen, you must prove that you understand the gravity of the choices that lie ahead..."

 

In the center of the walled-off cube that each party now found themselves in a pod rose up from the ground. It was just large enough to fit a single person into...

 

"Before you explore and change the City for good, you must pick one member of your group to sacrifice. What this sacrifice means I cannot say, perhaps exile, perhaps death, perhaps rebirth. But the result is not the matter at hand; the choice is."

 

Then there was an eerie silence as the weight of the choice ahead could be felt.

 

"So choose, my friends, and let this adventure begin."
