Skyline (Roleplay Thread)

Nora was almost in awe as Nathan was put into a sleep state. "(Considering what I've seen so far...I shouldn't be expecting any thing less than amazing.)" Nora thought as she heard some shuffling. She turned and saw the newcomer waking up. Chester Lloyd if she remembered well from Q. She walked over to the young man, who seemed just as confused as anyone else. How would she explain all of this? Well she'd guess she would let the world explain itself, much like it had happened to her. "Feeling alright?" Nora asked as she stood by the young man, kneeling down to him as he had sat up. Nora pointed at herself. "I'm Nora Geonova. Nice to meet you. You must be Chester, right?" Nora asked, hopefully she had gotten the name right. "I wish I could explain your situation...but I just found myself here recently as well. I think it's better if you see for yourself, too." Nora said as she tilted her head.

(I don't know who fell on who, so I'm just going to make two scenarios with one conclusion if that's okay.  Oh and (Lots of people group: Jason, Sora, Kristy, Yuki, Maxwell))

(Scenario 2)

Kristy kind of enjoyed the cloud going a little fast.  But then it suddenly went too fast and she was getting worried.  Flying now, she shouts:  "Hang on Sora!".  Up in the air, Kirsty thinks:  All sorts of things are going on today.  Seeing the ground, Kristy braced for impact.  But she was surprised to land on Sora.  Quickly getting up, Kristy says:  "Oh Sora I'm so sorry!  Are you okay?  If we are in a anime, then you'd be fine right?"

(Same Conclusion)

Kristy just tilts her headd when she heard the second part of what Sora said.  "Sora.  What do you mean by that?"  she responds.  Shaking her head, she looks around saying:  "Hey, where are we?  Are we where your guys' friends are?"  Then she looks onward to the blast door forming up.  "Okay, that's suspicious.  What do you guys think we should do?"

(Scenario 2 - Kristy landed on sora)

Her cheeks flushed, nodding. "I'm okay..." Her cheeks stayed red as the other girl asked what she meant.

"...it was a joke...I...I was trying to flirt, but I don't think I'm doing it right..." She seemed sincere and actually a bit lost, trying to figure out if she said it right. She ignored the sound and didn't hear Kristy speak, still trying to figure out if she was in fact doing something right.

In his still confused state,he couldn't come up with words to answer her. There was also somebody else in the room, laying on the floor."Y-yeah,that's right.Nice meeting you Nora."He said politely as he now stood up,not wanting to have the girl to kneel for him.He took a second glance to see if Nathan was there but he was gone now."I suppouse you're right"He agreed with Nora while he pinched his own hand a few times, but he didn't wake up even thought he felt it."How do you know? You know,my name.Have we met met before?"

Placing his hat back on his head, Le Chef nodded. "Well met, my dear Ms. Griffin. And you are more than welcome to accompany me. I am happy to have the company: it is far better to delve into the unknown and be lost and confused with someone than to be lost and confused all by yourself, no?" In many ways, this worked out nicely: he had lost Natasha as a potential partner, but at least fate had provided him with someone to share the danger with. Perhaps Q was far more forgiving than she first appeared.

"Can I cook?" he asked with a theatrical surprised gesture in response to her question. "My good lady, if there is one thing that this strange experience has failed to do, it is make me question my culinary arts!" He did not make mention of the powers granted to him by the city: Shade hadn't mentioned any powers granted to her, nor shown any awareness that they existed, and Le Chef had made enough of a living from playing proverbial poker that he didn't want to show too many cards until he absolutely had to. "But this is far from the place I would choose to prepare a decent lunch, be it ripe for slumber or no." He gestured upwards towards the staircase leading to the upper levels. "Though who knows: the higher we go, perhaps the more comfortable we shall be, though my gambling side tells me otherwise." Regardless, he began to walk up the stairs.

Shade followed him up."Oh great, can you teach me at some point? I'd like to learn. So you must not know much more than me,huh? " She asked. This place was rather strange so far.At least from what she had saw so far.She was worried that whatever was next was going to be bad. She like most people wasn't fond of the unknown or being taken from her home.

Asher Group

After some walking, Asher came across a building very unlike the rest in the City. Positioned just where the trial in Veil should be, he found himself standing before a small cafe. Gray smoke puffed from the back of the building, and through the glass of the building it became clear that the inside was... colorful. No more pure whites, blacks, and grays. Inside there was a subtle blue that coated the walls, with the tables being a rich light brown and the counter tops were a district greenish-white marble.

It was the woman behind the counter that was most surprising though.

Right there, in the middle of the empty City, was a coffee shop, and inside of it was a young woman. Likely in her 20s, she wore a dark green dress with a black apron over it. She stood behind the counter, cleaning it, until she noticed Asher. A smile grew over her face and then she beckoned Asher in through the door at the front of the building.

“Er…no actually. We haven’t. This is the first time I’ve ever seen you. Q told me your name.” Nora said as she stood up and offered her hand to help Chester up. “Q nis the magical voice that speaks in our minds…you’ll most likely hear her voice soon, actually.” Nora said as she looked around. “According to her, Nathan and I cleared a challenge. Which means that there might be something next for us to do…or find. Maybe going outside.” Nora said as she turned over to Chester. “You’re sure to find your ability soon enough, I hope.” Nora said as she showed off her brush. "I'm able to paint things into reality! Quite useful...and dangerous now that I think about it." Nora muttered as she glanced around at the broken parts of the room due to the explosions from the fight of earlier.

"!!!.....Well....I'd say you did it right for a first try.....Just to avoid being the Third Wheel, I'm just gonna....Move slowly awayfrom you two for a bit..." Yuki gets on the giant Sukai and slowly moves away from Sora and Kristy. He silently whispers to Kristy.

I think she likes you. Like, "Likes" you.

"O-oh.  Oh.  So that's what you meant.  It's a start, I guess?"  Kristy responds to Sora, starting to blush herself.  Kristy didn't know how to react from there.  It was a first for her, that much was certain.  Then Kristy listened to what Yuki whispered to her.  Her face ends up blushing a more intense red.  Without thinking she slaps Yuki right off the Sukai cloud he was on.  Really flustered, Kristy shouts:  "Yuki, don't say things like that!  That's really.....it's not.....aah!!  Just be careful how you say it next time!"  Looking to the blast door, she then says:  "Let's just go inside okay?  There could be some useful stuff in the place."  Without waiting for responses Kristy runs to and hops into the door, daring to see whatever is inside.

"YOOOOOWWW!!!" Yuki holds the cheek that Kristy slapped, which was red. "Dang, you slap harder than Bulma and Grandma Chi-Chi. Ouch! Just please don't pull my tail really hard. I'm sorry, I won't say anything like that again!" Getting up from his sudden fall, Yuki runs after Kristy through the blast door, catching up to her.

"Could you slap a bad guy that hard? Or at least teach me?"

Sora watched it happen and quietly followed. She didn't speak, though reached out to grab Kristy's sleeve for some form of comfort.

"...I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything..."

She stayed quiet, eyes on the ground.

Kristy stopped when Sora grabbed her sleeve.  Turning around, Kristy says:  "Hey, don't feel bad about it.  You didn't do anything wrong.  If anything, I was the one who lost it.  I overreacted to the whole thing.  Again.  I need to work that out better."  Turning to Yuki, she speaks:  "I'm sorry for slapping you Yuki.  I sometimes happen to act without thinking things through."

Looking up shyly, she slowly hugged Kristy, burying her head in the older girl's chest, she gave her a gentle hug, tail also wrapping around Kristy's thigh.

"..." Sora slowly stepped back and clasped her hands in front of her, all maid-like.

"We all have flaws. It's okay."

Nora said as she didn't see any doors. But an idea did came up. Taking out her brush, she started to paint on one of the walls that wasn't cracked or broken. Adding colors such as rich mahogany brown, gold, and copper with realistic shading, in about ten minutes of painting she stepped back to reveal the painting of what it seemed to be an elevator. As the elevator door came to life, the doors opened with a DING sound, revealing the inside of the elevator which only had one destination: to the bottom floor, and hopefully to the outside. "You know, I think I wouldn't mind keeping this brush around now." Nora said with a smile as she stepped into the elevator. "Have you heard Q's voice, by the way?"

Maxwell could only sigh at the scene, although he chuckled when Yuki got slapped, although they still needed to deal with this blast door business, "I agree with Kristy, we should move" he said approaching the blast door and looked back at them "Be ready for anything" he said with a serious tone as he began to open the door slowly, the last thing he'd want is for thing to go out of control during the trial, he was prepared to face whatever was inside, he just hoped the others were as well.

"Alright..." he said as he finished opening the blast door.

Laughing, Kristy nods and says to Sora:  "Yeah.  You're right.  Thank you Sora."  Turning to Maxwell, Kristy responds:  "Right."  Before heading to the door, she thought of something.  The duration of her Aura power.  She needed to figure out how long it lasts.  She goes to a corner of the roof and places her right hand on.  That part crumbles away and she glows her usual yellow.  Now she waits for it.  1,2,3........several more seconds pass on.  At around 14 seconds she begins to breath hard and fast.  Giving back the portion she borrowed, Kristy slowly breathed back to normal.  "Looks like I can only have my Aura for 14 seconds.  I have to be careful on how I use it." she mumbles.  Standing up, she walks towards and enters the blast door.

Sora blushes happily. 'You're welcome." The girl's smile was soft and delicate, and she watched Kristy's test. She waited until her friend was heading for the door, then followed right behind her, looking around nervously.

"Are you sure this is a good idea..."

Now, Sora was scared...no, she was utterly terrified. And so, the poor foxgirl hugged Kristy's waist fearfully, hiding her face in her friend's back. The entire time she just got more and more scared, and as Yuki stopped, she screamed as they went flying...and kept holding onto Kristy, and would end up cushioning the girl's fall with her own body.

Sore, she whimpered.

"...does this mean we're in an anime...or...are you falling for me?"

Jason, Kristy, Sora, Yuki, Maxwell Group

The group sped over the skyline of The City, each seemingly looking out for potential destinations, until one seemed to present itself to them just below.

After only a little bit of flight the party could hear a grinding of gears and gnashing of metal below them. Right where the Haven trial was marked on the map the party found themselves over a huge octagonal fortress. It was pure white on the outside like the rest of the City but had no noticeable doors or entry ways... until it became clear that a huge blast door positioned on the roof was opening up, inside lay a darkened gray hanger, without much visible from the outside. It seemed the doors were opening as if in welcoming for the party.

The only way to discover what was inside was for the group to venture in through the blast door.

...And the things that lay within were counting on it.

[Jason, Sora, Kristy, Yuki, Maxwell]

For the first time ever, Jason was authentically exhilarated as the nimbus cloud soared into the skies. Thanks to all the armor and riot shield, the SWAT officer was securely anchored in place when the cloud made a sudden stop. He would have helped, but the adrenaline high of actually being a flying brick was still too much fot the officer to take in. Fortunately for him, everyone else was already on the ground with Kristy, so Jason quickly disembarked the nimbus and landed on his feet with a solid, armored thud.

It was now that the officer scanned his new surroundings; the sound of grinding metal made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. Instinctively, he reached for his pistol holster and rested his hand on his trusty sidearm that he thankfully carried over from his usual uniform. "I don't like the sound of this place," he remarked to the group, but it apparently fell on deaf ears as he watched Sora and Kristy's interaction. "Sora," the officer addressed, "I hate to ruin your moment, but can you call in some weapons for me? Preferably a .50 caliber anti materiel sniper rifle and a compact sub-machine gun? I need armaments, and something tells me We're gonna be facing CQC in the near future."

Reverie and Liath Group

The doors closed and the elevator began to descend.

The light of the upper City disappeared in and instant through the small slit in the two doors, and the pair could feel themselves moving faster and faster down.

When the elevator slowed to a stop there was no telling how far down they were. Until the doors opened and they found themselves in a glass hallway. All around them.... water.

Down here the water had a distinct blue hue to it and the hallway they stood in seemed fragile at best. In a moment the elevator behind them closed and rocketed upward. They seemed hundreds of feet down in this body of water... .whatever it was. At the end of the hallway was a single table, also made of glass, with a single earthy rock placed upon it. The rock was covered in dirt and disrupted the pristine look of the hallway submerged so far below the depths but it was refreshing to see any color besides white.

That's when the voice boomed into the hallways, shaking the glass foundation of the hallway as if it may shatter.

"Who are you?" The deep voice boomed through the crystal blue water.

Then out of the corner of their eyes they could see it. Fins, tails, snaking bodies. Suddenly the water all around them was surrounded by dozens of submarine life. But these were... dolls. They were shaped as fish may be, but their fins were sharp, they bared vicious looking teeth, and they were all pure white. A small armada of these submarine dolls had them surrounded. Then the large mass emerge from behind them. This one was different, colored in shimmering blues and greens and with brilliant scales. It was like an ancient dragon of Chinese tradition, only here it stood right before them... at the end of the hallway, and looked at the two with great red and black eyes as its mouth began to move slowly.

"I ask again.... who are you?"

Alysa and Aro Group

The monstrosity roared as Aro hit it's arms with her attack and Alysa ripped through it. It toppled to the ground it a great cry. It seemed like the attacks were working through, the wails of the dead were growing more frenzied and the beast seemed less capable of striking at the two. In a last-ditch effort the had of all the people making up the monster turned towards Aro and the beast lurched viciously towards her, its useless arms trailing behind.

It was now or never to finish this.

The Misfits

The door opened before the group and just like that they were all back in the City.

"Welcome to Dawn" Q said. The new district was huge, with a grand landscape. From their viewpoint the group could see strange anatomies, StarFalls, and what seemed to be trial buildings.

Someone just needed to take a first step towards them now.

Wlynn followed Ailder closely since she wasn't sure if she made the right procedure.

"Don't strain yourself. Besides what could ..." She stopped talking as she saw the city again. In all honesty she felt relieved that  volcanoes were out of the picture. the city welcomed her with a pleasant breeze before she looked at Ailder.

"Um ... You fell ok? the process should have ... Oh wait ... Um sorry I'm bad at making small talk." She tried to get a friendly conversation going but didn't know how to. Instead all she could do was squeeze out a little voice that sounded downright like a squeal.

Le Chef and Shade

"Forgive me." Q's voice entered into Shade's mind. "I neglected to greet you personally. You were.. an unexpected arrival, but you have just as much place here as anyone. My name is Q. I will guide you through this place and bring it back to life, at which point you can continue on with your life."

As the two continued up the stairs, the floor seemed to begin to contort. As if it were... melting.

"I must warn you, Ms. Shade, this will not be an easy journey. You must be ready."

Then it became all too obvious the floor was in fact melting. Oozing out of it was... magma. It bubbled up and suddenly the entire floor was made of it, and it was rising, very very quickly.

"You must know that there is a great chance you may fall in this City. You must persevere."

The staircase spiraled up to a door near the top of the dome, but now the lava was rising at a pace the pair would be nearly unable to match. On top of that the stair way ahead suddenly fractured into pieces. The stairs segments lingered impossibly in the air. The pair would have to jump between them to keep making it up the staircase towards the single mahogany door at the top. And they would have to be faster than any normal human.

"Welcome to the City.

The Cloud-Riders (Yuki, Jason, Kristy, Maxwell, Sora)

Inside the darkened hanger there was the thick sound of grinding metal, and soon it seemed to surround them. Shadows grumbled around them, until finally two spotlights came down in the hanger. One on the group, one on a single man in a thick rubber suit. He wore distinct rectangular glasses and as he began to speak his thick London accent pervaded the room.

"Welcome friends. I've been waiting until Q finally freed me."

The shadows on the edges of the hanger moved closer.

"Forgive me, my name is Dytrian. I am one of the beings trapped here. Like Q... just... more imperfect. I've spent so long trapped in here... tinkering."

The shadows got closer, and the glimmer of steel became evident. They were... metallic creatures of some sort?

"Tinkering and building for the one day my works of art could exude the expression they were always meant to. Are you all prepared to die?"

The lights suddenly came on around the entire hanger, flooding the space with brightness...

Then they saw the mechs. Each was humanoid, with one having gigantic wing-life appendages on its back, a great green sphere in its chest, and a blade of pure energy in its hand. The next was purple and slender. It had no weapons but looked like a human in a grotesque suit. The last was a gigantic bulky thing. It was decorated in garish adornment. and while one of its hands seemed normal, the other had been converted to a drill.

Dytrian began to laugh.

"So tell me, my lovely visitors, which piece would you like to be immortalized by in death?"
