Aro shoved an elbow into Asher's gut and forced herself from his hands. Considering Alysa had nothing to do with this anymore, Aro glared at both Tristan and Nathan, "You do not understand the despair I've already felt. As angsty as this may be, I have lost much already. Do me this favor and let myself end this. Don't throw your lives away like this, when you all have things left."

 

She walked up to the pod, her body beginning to release a thin cloud of toxic dust, "Please...give me this justice. For what I've done, and for what I've lost. Vote for me."

Sora slumped. She panted softly, then...Q spoke. Challenges. So many challenges, and yet...nothing. She moved closer and clung to Kristy's arm, and looked around. The Poice Officer. The one guy with a monster us vending machine buddy. A demon like guy and then the only other girl.

 

All with memories...and none, probably, with a deep rooted depression...she could make guns...but was she useful? How...

Sora burst into tears again.

"I-I'm j-just g-a slow you down...I...i'll g-go."

Of course, she was crying and terrified so it was quite unsure if she really really wanted to.

[Exelent job Mr. It.] Liath waited for his companion to reply, but it didn't, [Mr. It? Are you there?] still nothing. He then noticed that the vending machine Mr. It had been possessing was frozen, as if it been turned off [Hm... perhaps it needs time to recharge.] Or at least, that was what he hoped was going on.

 

Liath then turned to the group, "I agree with Sora, she should go." he said. It wasn't anything personal, he just didn't want to be stuck in a group with an emotionally unstable person, especially if they would be facing plenty of life or death situations in the future. "So, where to next?" Liath asked, thinking the matter of who to sacrifice was already settled.

Jason stayed quiet as he quickly got to work patching up Kristy to the best of his abilities, trying to get his mind off the inevitable sacrifice that was pressed onto everyone. He pulled out some bandages, compression gauze and a small tube of antiseptic as he quickly patched up the girl to the best of his abilities and limited equipment. "I'm sorry if this isn't helping much," Jason calmly told Kristy, "most of the medical equipment I usually carry around was in my squad car, and it's not around here."

 

"I ... I'll ... go."

 

The police officer slowly turned around to see who was crazy enough to 'sacrifice' their own life at the whim of a voice telling them 'because I said so.' His eyes met Wlynn, and for a moment, the officer was speechless at her decision. "Before I go. Everyone ... Survive!" she addressed to the group. Jason had heard that request being uttered by his family too many times before, and because of that, the officer instinctively replied back, "I can't promise you that." 

 

It was almost suicidal to ask, but Jason couldn't help himself as he addressed the girl. "Are you sure you want to do this?" He was frantic on finding a way around the demand for a sacrifice. There has to be another way! Maybe this is like one of those challenges where the answer comes from thinking outside the box! "Does anyone object to her decision?" he asked aloud to the group, wanting to make damn sure that the decision was a fair one, and not one where the girl felt she was forced to give herself up. 

 

"I-I'm j-just g-a slow you down...I...i'll g-go." Sora managed to sputter between tears, catching the officer's attention. She's in an emotional wreck. Besides, I'm not gonna let her go. Jason walked over to where the foxgirl was and firmly placed a hand on her shoulder. "Listen, miss: Your 'sacrifice' to that... pod thing would be really appreciated, but given how you are right now, I'm not going to allow you to. You're too distressed, and I know stuff like that can and does cloud your judgement. I cannot, in good faith, let you enter that pod. At least, not in the condition that you're currently in." He turned to address Wlynn. "Ma'am, I hope you do realize that you're making a conscious and emotionally sound decision to 'sacrifice' yourself. Are you really certain about this? Please know that no one is forcing you."

Nathan grit his teeth as he lost control of the situation around him. "These fools... I'll make sure they regret this." Nathan turned back toward Tristan with a look of disgust. "If you're even suggesting that you could be a match for me, then you are sorely mistaken. For now..." Nathan took a deep breath, his mind calming down to the point that he returned to his usual emotionless state. "... I will concede to you using that device on the condition that you inform me of everything you encounter the next time we meet. This is a fair trade for you, so there's no reason for you not to take it. However, I am still unhappy about this situation, so I'll send you along with a small parting gift from me." Nathan slid his left leg back a few inches and used his left hand to punch the air directly between himself and Tristan. For the first few seconds there was nothing, but soon Tristan could feel himself being forced back and being crushed against the inside of the pod. After ten seconds of being under the force of the invisible pressure, Tristan was released from Nathan's power. Nathan himself then turned away from the pod and walked away to the wall furthest from the group. Standing with his arms crossed and his back to the wall, Nathan closed his eyes in thought as he willingly accepted his fate and simply awaited the next trial presented to the group by Q. "I will not be defeated by that man. I will become strong. Then, I will rule this world. It's only a matter of time."

Kristy winced a bit while Jason was patching her up.  "No, it's good.  My arm is already feeling better."  she replied.  Kristy turned to Wlynn who was heading to the pod.  Unsure, Kristy says:  "Wait!  Do you really want that?  You don't know what will happen."  She gasped when she heard Sora volunteer for the sacrifice.  "No way Sora!  You can't go!!"  she yelled out upset.  "I mean, you helped me out.  You saved me by knocking that monster back when I hurt myself.  You're power helped me out.  I know it can help out in many ways.  And, I was wondering that.....that we can be friends."

"Aro!" Asher called."Thats your name...isn't it...?" He asked quietly."I don't even know who my parents are...you aren't alone Aro. We are here for you." He said seriously, placing a hand on Aro's shoulder.He really didn't care about the toxic gas he was inhaling."I won't let you go Aro. I know we don't know each other that well, but I'm not going to let you go." He said."You are one of the strongest in our group, and since we already have two fire users, we will let Tristan go so we still have another pryokinesis." Asher said, pulling her away. "We won't let you go..."

As Reverie heard Q's newest message from his mind,he began to think about the sacrifices that she was mentioned. As soon as almost all the members around him want to take them as tribute,Reverie felt something wrong. " It's not right......there's more ways than one rather than sacrifice one people. Even if it was no other choices.....I don't mind any one of us will volunteer..." Reverie said as he ready to accept himself as tribute as well...

I have no usefull abilities like demon boy here and on top of all that I am completely useless in situations like this one. So that's the logically correct decision. Dont get me wrong. I'm scared and I have no idea what will happen but through the process of elimination I'm by far the most expendable." Wlynn said all that with a glum look in her eyes and her legs were shaking but what she said was no lie. If anything like this should happen again she would first freeze up and second panic.

"I'm going." She said once more just hoping to get the approval of the others this time. It was just now she noticed the leg morphing earlier destroyed her shoes so that was another laugh for her. 'So what will it be? sacrifice or crazy plan? ... I dont think anyone can get around this.' She thought to herself since that possibility was still on the table.

"Let me go!" Aro exclaimed, glaring at Asher again before eventually slumping down.

 

This wasn't going to work, wasn't it? She wasn't going to see Ven. Or Sara. They wouldn't let her do it. Why? She barely knew these people. Tristan and Nathan were both too hot-headed and over confident. Asher was nice in a way that Aro couldn't comprehend. Alysa was probably the sanest and likely the most sensible out of all of them...

 

Aro sighed, wrenched herself away from Asher for the second time and pointed at Tristan. The same gun-shaped stance that she had used before, signifying her powers.

"Just get in the pod, Tristan."

 

She fired into the air, the beam removing the extra matter she had absorbed when she had intentionally tried to get into the pod.

Sora looked to Kristy, somewhat more composed. "If I hadn't frozen you wouldn't have been hurt....even if I did..." Of course....it finally did register, and Sora sank to her knees.

"Y...you'd be my friend?" She whispered.  She looked surprised. "...why? All I've done is cry."

The pod in Crest shot down into the ground, Tristan in it, and the street closed immediately over the gap... The walls suddenly opened on the four sides around the group.

 

The pod in Solace, with Ailder now firmly rooted in it, also descended, and the gap closed there as well. But just as like in Crest, the walls came down, just as Q said they would.

 

"You are now free to explore the City." Q's voice began in the minds of the two groups. "Go where you wish. Find events, discover new districts, meet new allies, unfurl newfound plots, and rebuild the City as what it was meant to be, all these options are now open you. Stay together, split up, rush headlong or walk cautious; these are now your choices to make."

 

Everyone in the groups could feel a sense of pure energy emanating from various directions... perhaps following such trails would lead them to certain events. (Check the map in the opening post)

 

In Haven the pod still lingered... waiting for the final decision...

 

In the pure white room that Jay found himself in the screens suddenly disappeared, and three holes in the ceiling opened. From them descended Ailder, Tristan, and Itachi. All three landed with a thud, with the pods that Ailder and Tristan came in bursting open after landing and as they did two parts of the wall opened to the left and right of Jay, one had a blue shining behind it, and one had a red light shining behind it. The lights were so bright it was difficult to see what actually lay in the next areas.

 

"You all have become a new unlikely group of companions." Q said in the calm, measured voice she always spoke with. "Whether through sacrifice, betrayal, or bad luck you have found yourself here, and one more even has yet to arrive. For now, though, you face your first choice, and it is not a difficult task. Simply choose a destination; the red door or the blue door?"

Yuki put his hand on the exact spot where Ailder went inside the pod....Words of prayer filled his thoughts..

(Thinking) Be strong, my friend....I hope for the best you're still alive...

He sighs and backs away from the spot and yawns. "I guess he was serious....*sigh* I know this might be a bad time to say this, but after all of this happening.....I'm gonna go take nap. Heh heh! I'm just going to be on top of that red building over there on my cloud." He points to the red building on the right and flies away. "Let me know when you're ready to go!" Once there, still on his cloud, Son Yuki lies down on his soft, white cloud and sleeps....

"Well, it all really depends. Who do we have here in our little group?" Ailder said, whimsical in tone. He still only figured he was just in some sort of drug-induced hallucination, so he wasn't exactly freaked out.

Seeming pretty darned dumbfounded for once, Jay's eyes still trying to adapt to the weird room... but it wasn't his eyes that were messed up.

 

"What the...?" A small smirk crept up upon his momentarily shocked face. The room was pure white. To see something so devoid of color... it was interesting. Now this was interesting, way better than... whatever he was doing. Speaking of which, what was he doing? Ahh, who gave a damn? He had a choice: red or blue. Seemed pretty easy to him. He was almost oblivious to the fact that there was anyone else in the room.

Maxwell frowned but quickly accepted the situation, Ailder went with the pod and now the walls came off, and now they were free to explore, "No point in mourning now, you heard Q, we have work to do...specially if it means finding out why we're here" he said.

 

He then saw Yuki going over to the red building and sleeping, to which Maxwell sighed as he saw him going, before turning to Natasha and Le chef, "Look since we now have free reign of exploring, I think we should move out, as to my opinion on a destination i'd say south-east, I think I noticed one of those meteors falling in that direction...and any chance of being able to increase our power is welcome, so who wants to go as well?" he asks, it'd be best that they stay together after all.

(Now....It's time.......Of course this takes place some time after he went to sleep.) ~Yuki's Dream/Nightmare~Yuki opens his eyes and he sees a very happy, sunny park. Children sliding down on the slide, kids on the swing sets, adults playing with their children and sitting on their benches and having picnics, everyone was having a good time! "Wow! This is so pretty!" It made him feel....Happy. He was standing at the entrance. Then he noticed a ball the bounced and landed behind him. Yuki was about to pick it up, but a little girl picked it up and went right through him! Like he was a ghost or not visible. "Wha-What just? She just....Woah....." But that was quickly forgotten when he looked back at the happy folks in the park. But then words suddenly echoed....The World is not what you think it is....Then everything stopped. Time completely stopped. Frozen. Suddenly, every went dark, with wind blowing darkness over. Yuki covered his eyes with his arm. Wind blew through his clothes. Next everything lit up. It was just white. Nothing but white. Nothing. Then behind him was a silhouette of a woman.....A mysterious woman....Yuki turned around to see it..."...Who are you?....Wait....Are you....Q?" The silhouette woman turned around and walked away. "Hey! Wait! Come back!" Yuki ran quickly towards the woman silhouette woman, but wind blew once again and darkness was only visible...This time, it stayed dark.Then Yuki turned around and a completely white silhouette of a familiar figure appeared, with long hair, a staff, and a robe. It was HIM. "No.....No, no, Not you. Why are you here!?" Then HIS white silhouette raised his hand and then Yuki's white shadow grew and rose from the dark floor. It grew to a giant white red eyed Great Ape beast, joined by 2 giant white red eyed dolls on Yuki's left and right.Yuki took 2 steps back. He turned his head to face HIM. HIS red eyes were now visible. He said this word.....KorosuThe Giant Red eyed white Great Ape roared and its giant fist headed towards Yuki and hit him!~In Reality~

Yuki moved back and forth, tossed and turned in his sleep, sweating. He was really having a bad dream..."....No....No...Why.......Help...." These words he said in his sleep.

Le Chef pondered cutting up his apron to try and make a bandage around one of the many cuts on his leg, but the thought was too horrid to bear. A blood stain was one thing, but spilling sauce onto his shirt was a far worse prospect. Thankfully, some of the wounds were beginning to cauterize, which, although not really making it hurt any less, at least meant he wouldn't have to spend as much on his dry cleaning. Infection might be a worry, though...

 

"My good friend Maxwell, you make a good point," he said with a nod. "Sticking together is not a bad idea, no? I've no particular desire to face off against any more pale predators by my lonesome. But I am not as young as I used to be, and if there is one thing which I need to start my day before venturing out into the unknown, it is a breakfast." The lack of plates and fire meant that the food wasn't quite as elaborate as he would have liked, but Le Chef managed to piece together a rather basic meal of a baguette sandwich with tomato, roast beef, and pepperjack cheese. Handing out the food to Maxwell and Natasha, and making a mental note to make one for Yuki when he awoke, Le Chef, munched on the makeshift meal while thinking aloud through bites.

 

"Now that we are not being pestered with malicious minions, let's exercise our little grey cells, and answer a few lingering questions as best we can. One: who is our charming hostess, this Q? She tells us that the city needs a sacrifice, the city will try and destroy us, and yet she is the one who brings us here, to a place that doesn't seem to want us in the first place and would just as soon have us leave, by the looks of it. Second: she mentions making new allies, but I am not inclined to believe that the snapping jaws of our dolls are the sort of allies we wish to have. Which means that there may be other residents here outside of the dolls, or that we weren't the only ones taken out of our beds late one night. And, if it should be the latter, what can a small band of outsiders accomplish that our seemingly omnipotent mistress cannot?"

Maxwell looked at Le chef with a normal expression as he heard the man asking for breakfast, Maxwell thought he mind as well oblige since while he wasn't getting hungry, maybe natasha or Yuki were, no use wondering though as Le chef quickly made them their food.

 

Maxwell took some bites of Le chef's food, and he was impressed at the taste, "Huh, your reputation is well placed" he commented as he kept on eating.

 

However Maxwell looked surprise as Le chef's statement about why they were all here, he hasn't really thought about that, "Well Q said these dolls have been here since the beginning, and she can not remove them, no matter what she does, and i'd wager they were this city's downfall, so My guess is that she chose us and brought us here in order for us to help her in her objetive, as for other people being brought here...I don't know for certain, but it wouldn't make sense to bring only six people to clean an entire city by ourselves..." he said bringing a hand to his chin as he thought about it

Yuki had finally awoke. Still on his cloud, he descended from the red building, but he didn't look happy. He was a bit scared and sudden because of the recent dream he had. Once he was with the group, he spoke.

"Hey guys....Um....Do you ever have those dreams where you remember every single detail in it that you just can't forget it?"

"If that's what you want Wlynn, go for it." Liath said, growing impatient. There were comets to investigate, districts to reinvigorate, and secrets to learn, and here he was, trapped in a box! It didn't help that by contrast to the city itself, his teammates seemed rather dull, and he doubted he would work well with them. Perhaps he'd be better off solo.

Nathan watched as Tristan was plunged downwards and out of sight while the walls surrounding the remaining members disappeared. Just as Q then explained Nathan could feel an odd sensation originating in three different directions. "I can feel it... This is my chance to gain power. I just hope that it's enough to compensate for the opportunity I lost... for his sake." Nathan looked back at his fellow 'companions', only to snicker and begin walking away from them. "I'll be walking in this direction. If anyone follows me, then know that I will not be held responsible should you get yourself in trouble. See you all again soon." Nathan said blandly, not even bothering to give the group a wave farewell. Unknowingly, Nathan casually headed East towards the first trial, hoping to acquire greater power in order to overcome his new goal; Deafeating Tristan. "He thinks he's so noble, sacrificing himself for the sake of others. It's laughable really. But... Even though he is an idiot among idiots... He could be quite fun to play with." Nathan chuckled to himself as he began conjuring a few ideas that he had in store for Tristan. "Yes. I think I'll let him grow, and when he becomes strong enough to oppose me... I'll crush him with an iron fist. Now then..." Nathan could feel himself approaching the source of the energy he had felt. "... What do I have waiting for me?" Before Nathan was...

"It's okay Sora.  It doesn't matter what happened.  Any other girl in your shoes would've done the same thing.  Besides, if something meant it would keep you safe, then I don't mind getting a little hurt.  So don't blame yourself on it.  If anything, blame it all on the City, and Q for that matter.  Plus, I feel great with you around.  So whatever comes in the way, I know I can handle with you.  Knowing you have my back cause we'd be friends.  Right?"  Kristy closed her eyes and smiled, being positive on things.  She opened her eyes and looked at Wylnn heading to the pod.  Holding her head with the right hand, Kristy said:  "I don't like the idea for anyone to go like this.  But if that's what you really want to do, I guess I can't force you out of it.  So I'll just wish you the best of luck."
