How Xehanort could live forever and why he doesn't need a vessel

Recommended Posts

Ok so I was thinking about this while at work and wanted to know if you guys thought this was valid, but why couldn't xehanort just continue to turn himself into a heartless and nobody as soon as they get destroyed and he gets put back together. Now I don't know how 1 person can control a heartless and nobody of themselves at the same time but if he can control either of them then he can avoid aging. This would eliminate the need for a vessel and also make him immortal since if you destroy him he comes back only to repeat the process. What do you guys think?     Another thing I'd like to add is that I never understood why xehanort went through all the trouble of finding a vessel only to go around and turn himself into a heartless/nobody, especially when he returns to his ORIGINAL form terra free after his heartless/nobody gets destroyed.   Thoughts?

Nobodies do age, look at Zexion and Namine.

Xehanort turned himself into a Heartless so he could go through the Hollow Bastion Keyhole.Besides, Xehanort goal was never immortality, it's just to see what happens after the Keyblade War.

So I get how zexion aged as he is clearly not a little boy anymore, but we never see any evidence of namine aging. I also didn't think that Xehanort turned himself into a heartless solely so that he could go through the hallow bastion keyhole.

Not Namine but Is a and Lea certainly age too. Also it wasnt just for the keyhole..he did the whole time travel thing first.

My guess is that the heartless/nobody split actually does a lot of damage to your heart and body. It may not even be possible to just do it continuously. And Xehanort had never done that before I think so he wouldnt know that as an option to try.

I don't get how you guys see Zexion, Isa and Lea as proof of Nobodies ageing but not Namine. I mean sure, they were kids in BBS but they weren't turned into Nobodies imediately at that time.

But for Namine, we have proof.

She clearly looks older in KH2 than what she did in CoM.

Ok now I see what you mean. She did age but I think me and op here were thinking of a longer amount of time. The only reason I say Lea and Isa and Ienzo as nobodies is because for all we know the destruction of Radient Garden happened just as Kairi was sent away to Destiny Islands as a child. Thats based on only prediction though. It hasn't been fully revealed yet I think but either it happened right then and the nobodies aged to how we see them in re:com/kh2 or the destruction and splitting of their some bodies happened years later just before KH1.

Zexion doesn't age... Ienzo's a little kid in BBS, but the apprentices fall to darkness doesn't happen immediately after that. It happens closer to the original KH. Namine is the only Nobody who we see visibly age (and she's special as it is).

Anyway, that plan in particular hinges on a lot of gambles. Did Xehanort know his heartless would actually retain his sense of self? What if there wasn't anybody who would (or could) destroy the Nobody?

Not that his plan is bulletproof right now, but still.

Thanks for posting those pics because I never really noticed a difference. I understand now.

The soul is the main power source of the body-soul-heart trio. The soul of a nobody continues to age, even without a heart. So he would either die of old age as a whole person, or die of old age as a nobody.

no way, along the ten year gap, the fall of radiant garden has to be closer to BBS than KH. I vaguely remember a scene where sora and riku(with their 4year old models) were talking about a new girl at the mayor's house, so it has to be closer to BBS
