Tails 6,692 Posted February 7, 2015 OK I need a bit of help on the best way to defeat Lingering Will. He's the only thing standing in my way from obtainign the secret movie and finally starting BBSFM (yes, I have not touched BBS yet since I've already played it on the PSP. KH2FM was the biggest highlight for me and the main the biggest reason why I bought KH 2.5). I always get down to the part where he does his Desperation Move but than after that he kicks my butt. So...any of you guys got any tips?
Skhyatze 165 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) Only thing I can recommend is watching some vids on how to avoid his DM. Once you master that (not hard) Just don't attack him as much as you usually do (about 1 less combo) and he will usually just do his DM instantly after. The best combo setup is just all combo pluses (except for Sleeping Lion) and no Guard Break, just Explosion. I am bad at tips tho. 3 combos is what you should do all fight except his DM phase. 2 in DM phase Edited February 7, 2015 by Skhyatze
BlankShell 638 Posted February 8, 2015 As mentioned, avoiding his DM is actually pretty easy; there's some good videos out there, but timing your assorted aerial dodge/glide combos is not difficult. You can also cheap out with Limit Form; avoid the first wave of attacks, get hit by the second, auto-limit, revert, then repeat. The load times will actually work in your favor, allowing you to suffer less hits. After he's finished, then you can just play as normal.
TayeZyounghaterLafleur1095 2 Posted February 8, 2015 I know completely how you feel, I was stuck in the same situation as you for the longest time until I came across several videos on youtube that gave me a few tips on how to demolish this guy. This is by far the easiest way I have come across to kill this bastard ( although this is technically what some call "taking the easy way out" ) and it works best especially if your just plain sick of losing. Keep in mind it may take a few tries before you get it to work, because it took me some time before I got the timing to work out perfectly, but here ya go. Good luck! Emrys 3,192 Posted February 8, 2015 the trick is hitting him when hes done with his combos. while attacking he is impervious to any damage you try to inflict, and when he stops attacking he is vulnerable for like half a second. its annoying. therefore what i do is: when he is almost done with a combo i have Donald do this limit break which makes me impervious to damage but at the same time it will stagger lingering will as soon as hes done attacking and becomes susceptible to damage again. i then lay into him with more combos. i repeat this process unless he lands right next to me after being done with a combo in witch case i just attack him as he is close to me and therefore dont need Donalds limit break

decisivesora123 39 Posted February 8, 2015 So it sound like you can handle him until you get him 10 bars down, so there are two methods to beat him when he is in his deperation mode, but i am going to tell you the one that will save you time. so have some mega elixirs on you and be ready to recover donald because he can't say alive for three seconds against lingering will, when the desperation mode begins fly away and like you normally would and then when you see him starting the telepotation, use a limit, preferably comet, when you use comet like all of donalds limits you should be able to hit him so get start hitting him and when you use the finally for the comet revive some use another mega elixir to bring back you MP because we all know he will use the desperation move again. you should be able to end him the second time. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE NO LIMIT USERS, accept the fact that he used his desperation move and for the second half after flying away either don't aerial recover and let once more and second chance do there jobs, or find a corner and block which is possible but hard. well if you choose to except either go into a form most likely final form, because after the desperation move he is open to attack, so you can attack heal and fly away and then use mega elixir when when his desperation attack goes into his second stage and kill him in final for. or just heal yourself be ready to repeat acceptance or find a ways to block abd just keep doing that. either of the three will work, but i think only the first one is really effective.
