Isn't it like 10000000% sure that Frozen will be in KHIII?

Recommended Posts

I mean, let's look at this from this point of view. Frozen was a unbelievably large commercial success, it was loved by children and adults alike all around the world, it has been translated into many languages, and it features a song so catchy and iconic, that the entire world kept singing it inside their heads for a while. Its plot is interesting and fascinating, and features a message so new to Disney movies that no other has had it in the past. There are many interesting and diverse characters, both protagonists and antagonists, such as Elsa and Anna, or Hans and the Duke of Weselton.

So, how will all that apply to Kingdom Hearts III? To begin with, given its success, Disney will be wanting to feature it in the game, if Nomura is not already on his knees begging for them to let him use it. A Frozen-based world will appeal to all audiences, young children who are being introduced to the series and adults or teenagers who have been fans since its release in 2002. "Let It Go" is so great it could be converted into a beautiful background track, along with "For the First Time in Forever". The plot is flexible and could fit in a single world while being altered to include Sora and the gang, features a message no other world has taught Sora so far, (i.e. Love does not only come from a partner) all while exploring the diverse landscape of Arendelle, from its seaside plains to the snowy mountains and so on.

Another key element of a successful world is its character roster. The heroes of Frozen are mainly four:

- Elsa, the Ice Queen.

Who can imagine a Frozen themed world, where elsa is not a party member. Her powerful ice attacks could put heartless to shame, featurring advanced Blizzard spells like Deep Freeze or Ice Barrage. A useful ally nonetheless, but also an important character, undergoing serious self-discovery issues. Through her, Sora can be taught the importance of accepting yourself.

- Anna of Arendelle

An important character undoubtedly, she could serve as a cheerful introduction to the world, meeting Sora in the mountain and asking for help in order to reach her sister and save her homeland. Not much useful battle-wise, except for something like a protect quest, where you have to protect her from the Heartless while climbing the mountain, total downer.

-Olaf

Who doesn't love Olaf? This cute, cuddly, goofy supporting character is the perfect comic relief for this world. Innocent, yet protective of his friends.

-Kristoff

Not much to say about Kristoff, only that he would appear as a supporting character.

So you can see that Frozen seems like an interesting pick so far for KHIII. What one could debate about is how they will fit fighting in this setting. The answer to that is simple. Greed. You all know it, one of the seven deadly sins, it is what our two villains represent, Hans and the Duke of Weselton. The greed in their hearts gave birth to darkness, and in turn allowed them to summon the Heartless, hence, Sora is needed to see through to their destruction. Another boss battle could be Marshmallow, outside Elsa's castle, either with him being possesed by Heartless, or simply denying Sora access to the castle during his first visit.

I'm not sure if anyone needs more proof that Frozen is a mandatory option for KHIII, however, there is one thing that could cripple all of Frozen's possibilities...

TURNING IT INTO A MUSICAL WORLD LIKE ATLANTICA FROM KHII!!!

I actually loved atlantica from KHII, however Frozen is a world so versatile it could be anything.... Just let it be anything but that. ;)

I'm curious to know what this message is.

The only problem with that is that it would require Elsa to actually take an active role in the events which occur during the plot, which is not something she really does.

I kind of question how would they even pull it off? It just...doesn't seem fitting. Perhaps they'll find a way though.

I mean, who thought Pirates of the Caribbean would work? Tron, etc? The whole series is an exercise in mashing genres in a believable and enjoyable way.Anyway, Frozen is totally a lock, for a lot of reasons. There's the cynical reasons saying they want to cash in on the massive commercial success and that Disney would push for it, while others say they'll include it because they actually enjoyed it (hence why it's still a cultural phenomenon more than a year after release) and have good ways of incorporating it. All of the above, I say.

The message is the original message of Frozen. Love doesn't only exist between two lovers. A very original message for disney movies, surely.

*sigh* Even though it could happen, I and probably many other fans wouldn't want a Frozen word. As much as it is popular I'm sure more fans will get pissed off that it IS in the game than the ones who will get pissed off for it NOT being in the game.

Plus there are more deserving Disney worlds that have been waiting patiently to get in the game. *cough*Jungle Book*cough*

The only thing I care about regarding the world is how it's going to be (no KH2 Atlantica or any musical renditions of any songs)

If it is in the game, I'll still get it, but I'll just speedrun through the world.

Thank you again for putting up with my opinion. *starts listening to the music in Christmas town*

Pretty sure it will be.

Reasons:

- Yasue loved the movie. Nomura liked it too

- Frozen home release sold like crazy (japan included). The way it is, some people  could even buy KH3 just to play in that world, which means money.

- Disney can convice square to use it.

- Square was looking for people that are good with effects like water, snow...It could be for Land of Dragons or Christmas Town, but could it be Frozen foreshadowing too.

The chances are high.

Its more like 37% confirmed...and no, not every loves Olaf...

However I applaud you for bringing more than the simple "frozen deals with hearts so it must fit with KHIII perfectly" to the topic.

The chances are high.

But the demand is mixed!

Uh no offence but Frozen's plot was not that interesting. But honestly I don't care anymore because I'm curious of how in the hell is Sora, Donald, and Goofy are going to save Terra, Ventus, Aqua, Roxas, Xion, and Namine and find a new weapon called The Key to Return Hearts because I think that's their main mission in Kingdom Hearts 3 and how Riku and Mickey are going to find the previous Keyblade Masters. Also I want Treasure Planet to be in Kingdom Hearts 3.

You know, at this point, it's highly inevitable that Frozen will be made into a world in Kingdom Hearts III.  I really wouldn't be surprised if it did end up becoming a world in the game.  While the film was great, I consider that films like Treasure Planet or Atlantis: The Lost Empire deserve their shot at making their appearance in the Kingdom Hearts Universe!

But well, concerning the topic, if anything, I'd love to fight the snow giant and I'd also like to get the chance to crush Prince Hans' smug face into pieces!  I imagine that Olaf would end up being a summon after completing the world, and perhaps a Keyblade looking similar to Diamond Dust could be awarded for defeating the boss of the world.  As for the story, I'm sure Nomura would work around the plot to suit it to Sora and the gang's quest.  Only time will tell. :)

I WANT TREASURE PLANET AND ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE!!!  THESE FILMS ARE SERIOUSLY UNDERRATED!!!  NOMURA, GIVE THESE LOVELY FILMS A CHANCE AT BEING A PART OF THE Kingdom Hearts UNIVERSE!!! :D

Nothing's confirmed one way or the other until something comes from the Big Guy's mouth, but I wouldn't be surprised if Frozen was included.

That's... kind of a message KH itself already has. Friendship and all that. I mean, it's a fitting message in line with KH but it's not a unique one.

Frozen will work well with Kingdom Hearts, and easily fits in better than some Disney Worlds. We'll just have to see whether or not KH3 includes it.

I think she meant Disney movie-wise. It's definitely a fitting message for KH, which makes it a little more easier to adapt.

Nothing's guaranteed until Nomura/SE says it is, nor is anything mandatory (I'm sorry but that's very self-entitled).  While people really like the film (and a good few really hate it too), we can't predict whether or not Disney will give them permission to use it.  Sure we can fantasize and say how we'd imagine the plot would go once it's be KH-ified but it's still not a non-negotiable deal that SE has to follow, or may be allowed to follow.  As long as I get the chance of some new worlds, I'll be happy, regardless of what they are (unless it's Stars Wars sorry still nope).

They've already given Square blanket permission for all properties, nothing is off limits

I think big hero 6 has a better chance since nomura is a fan

Yasue is a fan of Frozen, or at least his daughter is

Lilo and Stitch kind of did that. Even Treasure Planet, with the relationship between Silver and Jim.

Sorry, I call BS on that, there was way too much sexual tension there. I'm not even a shipper and I see it every time they look at each other. The lingering glances, the awkward physical contact. Typical signs of unspoken attraction. I mean "officially" yeah that's what it's supposed to be, but but I don't see many fathers and sons who act that way around each other, even those that aren't biologically related like step-fathers and surrogate father-figures. It's like the animators and writers couldn't agree on if they where family or lovers.Nothing is guaranteed, but I will be very surprised if it doesn't make the cut.

Square still has to get permission for the way in which they present any world from Disney, the interview that mentioned frozen even has Yasue mentioning they would need to discuss it with Disney.  Sure, Square can put plans forward with designs and storylines laid out for a world, but Disney can rightfully so shut any of them down if they think they're inappropriate or too far off from their original movie's feeling.

Oh, right, because Disney is all about preserving the original feel, look at what they did with Maleficent. And just look at how closely Frozen itself follows The Snow Queen.Besides, the team has a lot of Disney fanboys/girls so they'll want to keep it close anyway.
