Skai 3,961 Posted February 3, 2015 I've started a thread before asking everyone what they hope to accomplish and I received amazing answers, with the occasional joke or two. The 'Post Your Own Painful Past...' thread is still going strong and alive, but I want to see a detailed dream and future thread. With the many terrible news, but also inspiring ones, I really want to take everything into perspective. Not everything has to be painful and sad, and sometimes I forget that myself. What are your aspirations? Inspirations? As much as it does matter how you'll do this, I want to know what it is you will do! And if there are any personal developments that do happen along the way, I wanna know that also! I wanna be supportive of whatever it is and proud that I knew that person, even only through the internet. I really do care about this community and it's great to see someone 'graduate' from KH13 and grow up in a sense! I know there are others who are off doing something great that we miss here. And who knows? Maybe your story will inspire others! So if you're comfortable, please share. (: I'll share mine soon, but I wanna see others' first! Also, think of it like a vow. Once you state it, we'll hold you to it! We'll be like that conscience or that constant check that'll motivate you to keep going, possibly! (: I know I really need one of those. haha 5 Firaga, Yuya Sakaki, Ruby Rose and 2 others reacted to this
Ruby Rose 8,591 Posted February 3, 2015 I don't know when, or how, or if it's even plausible, but I want to create and tell some sort of story In light of today's events I can no longer waste the gift I have, I need to take advantage of the time I've got Should I actually succeed, anything I create will be dedicated to Monty Oum, the man who inspired not only me but countless others as well Naïve, maybe dreaming too big? Sure, but if we let that stop us nothing would get made or done 3 Skai, Yuya Sakaki and Firaga reacted to this
Yuya Sakaki 5,212 Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) This is an awesome thread and you should feel awesome! Well, since I recently got accepted into University, I want to finish my degree to its end. I aspire to end this financial hardship my family has been going through recently. I'm doing Podiatry so there's good money involved there. I also need to get my Driver's License... and I need a part-time job to earn a little pocket money and possibly save up for when I can get married. (To a lovely women, I hope ) The thing is... the cut-off mark for my course was like 12 above what I had, yet I still got in. And I'm so grateful for that. When you receive a blessing, you should make it last by being grateful. I don't know when, or how, or if it's even plausible, but I want to create and tell some sort of storyIn light of today's events I can no longer waste the gift I have, I need to take advantage of the time I've gotShould I actually succeed, anything I create will be dedicated to Monty Oum, the man who inspired not only me but countless others as wellNaïve, maybe dreaming too big? Sure, but if we let that stop us nothing would get made or done *wipes tear* Your creator would be so proud of you, Ruby Rose. :'D Peace! Firaga 5,947 Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) I have lots of aspirations, most of them being boring adult stuff like getting my license, getting my first job to pay for college bills, finishing college, for how many more years I'll be spending with it, and stuff like that. My fun aspiration, i.e. the most important one, is to simply follow my dreams. I'm currently taking a course called Creative Writing For Entertainment; my goal is to be a writer, obviously, in any industry that would require that sort of skill. I don't really have a specific one locked down, but I'm open to anyone, really. it could be film, it could be television, it could even be for a video game. That's actually where it all started really, considering I'm a huge gamer. I would really like to create my own television series one day, or maybe a movie or something else along those lines. Though, just being part of the writing process for a project, any project of that variety, would be good enough for me. And if I can do pretty much that for a living and make money off it, I'd say that I would have it made. I have other artistic interests too, such as in animation, graphic design, and production, but writing is my main squeeze. Any else would just be something to do on the side, though it never hurts to have more than one skill. My inspirations come from what I have been exposed to in my life: famous authors, creators, storytellers, and what they have produced, such as video games, cartoons, television shows, movies, and of course, anime and manga. I aim to bundle up everything I've learned, including what I will continue to learn, about writing, whether it be silly or serious or heartwarming or heartbreaking, and be able to tell stories of my own, ones I can be proud of. Skai 3,961 Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Thank you for sharing guys! I'll hold you guys to that so don't you dare forget! As for me, I've always enjoyed the idea of sharing tales and not only sharing them, but the ability to inspire others just by doing so. At first, I started this story called Tale of Jack for a simple reason, but my whole life changed as I continued to write it. Many friends were affected by it and I knew there was a greater purpose for it! I wanted to make it into an animation and ultimately fell short due to lack of assets. Realizing this, I started YouTube to build a fan base, hopefully, and gain the assets I need in time. This dream extended into making a production company like Rooster Teeth with my very own friends! I originally promised July 2015 for some sort of trailer to come out, to no avail. During Xiro's birthday, it was brought to my attention how irresponsible I've been. I only recently started to take my YouTube account seriously and it's going well now, but I forgot that I did this for Tale of Jack and working with friends from here and in real life one day. I still hold those two dreams dearly and with Monty Oum's death and the words of his friends like Matt Hollum, Burnie Burns, and Ross from Game Grumps, I'm reinvigorated. I promise that I'll do this, not just for me, but for my friends, for the fleeting moments we have in life, and to the inspiration that started Tale of Jack, Monty Oum. As a tribute, I'll be posting a teaser-trailer of Tale of Jack July 2015 for those who yearned for it back then and maybe even those who will grow to like it. I know the story was never perfect, but it won't stop me from trying my best and improving it as time passes on. “t doesn't matter if the show you want to create isn't amazing at the beginning, the important thing is that you start it. Eventually down the line, it will be what you want it be.. That might be season 2, it might even be season 5.. But it WILL get there." - Monty Oum Oh! Also, I want to share others' stories too! I want to inspire as many people as I can, even if it isn't my own story. There are many of them to be told, and just being able to extend their reach would be awesome. Soul Eater Evans 4,045 Posted February 3, 2015 Mine aren't exciting and are pretty short. Amber Cole would definitely write one, I'll make sure to show this thread to her. What are your aspirations? Inspirations? I'm aiming to be a top class pianist. Unlike many "child prodigies" who start at an early age, I've only really gotten into it at the age of 14. I watched a korean drama, Spring Waltz, on netflix, which featured the fictional character Yoon Jae Ha, a world class pianist. The pieces of the show somehow clicked with me, from the Chopin Scherzo to A Sad Motive, and I just decided to become a pianist then and there. After playing a bit on a 66 key piano the main themes of the show, I eventually bought a weighted 88 key piano, and now have a classical repertoire under my belt. Although I probably won't enter contests, I try to make myself on concert level. 3 Akatsuki, Skai and Aru Akise reacted to this

Shulk 8,623 Posted February 3, 2015 As I said in your last thread about goals, I want to take a place in the video game industry. I'm just deciding where. Some of my friends and I realized that we actually all want to learn how to do different jobs that could all fit together into a game company, although I've also considered translating games for Nintendo. I'm still deciding what exactly I want to do as a game developer, but I know for sure that that's what I'd like to do. As for my inspirations? Well, I kinda just came up with the idea when I was in 2nd grade and copied what my friend said when we were asked what we wanted to do what we grew up, but since then, it's actually become my real aspiration. After having played a lot of games that had some sort of impact on me in my life, I want to make others feel the same way I do when I play a game. For my current influences, I look at mostly examples of games that have really made some sort of impact on me or that I really enjoyed. Some examples are old SNES era JRPGs (Final Fantasy IV-VI, Chrono Trigger, EarthBound), Pokemon, and Xenoblade Chronicles. I also look up to some specific game developers who I personally think are the best in the industry (Shigeru Miyamoto, Masahiro Sakurai). Miyamoto and Sakurai receive a lot of criticism lately, but I feel like they're some of the few developers who really want to do their best for their fans and want to give gamers experiences that are just plain fun. That's what I want to do when I make games, so they're definitely people I look up to. On a slightly unrelated topic, I also want to start up a gaming channel on Youtube. I've tried before, but thanks to my crappy laptop, my only playthrough was cancelled part of the way through. My inspiration for that was a guy on Youtube named Chuggaaconroy, who pretty much introduced me to the world of LPs (Indirectly, of course).

Aru Akise 2,540 Posted February 3, 2015 My dream in life is to go to Japan. I've started studying Japanese at the age 14 and this year I finally passed the test I need to go to college there. I hope to study International Relations and be a bridge between countries, helping to show the world Japanese culture and to preserve the culture outside Japan alongside the Nikkey population. 1 Skai reacted to this
