Jim 2,990 Posted January 26, 2015 I was just looking at ebay out of curiosity, and I found a guy who posted this picture for the Gamecube Controller Adapter he's selling: This ticks me off so much. There's 16 visible adapters in this picture, and there's probably at least six more propping those up. That's at least twenty-two adapters that this one scumbag bought for the sole purpose of filling his pockets with undeserved cash, and twenty-two people who actually wanted an adapter and weren't able to buy one because of this selfish lowlife. Words can't describe how much I hate people like this. I know it wouldn't make much legal sense, but I wish this was illegal and that people could be sued for it. People like this don't deserve one penny from us. *Sigh* I'm sorry, people like this just upset me. 9 Hero of Winds, DragonMaster, Reyn and 6 others reacted to this

HeyMouseSayCheese 1,133 Posted January 26, 2015 He's just a merchant, historically the most hated profession in every culture. There's nothing really wrong with what he's doing- buying product and selling it at a higher price to make a profit; y'know, capitalism- but it ticks everyone off because it feels like he's trying to rip people off. Which he kind of is, but again, capitalism.

He did this because he hates Rosalina and doesn't want anyone to have her. Problem is, his thousands of dollars spent on that still support Nintendo and even then, those preorders were dropped by the retailer and the money was refunded. The guy also plans on hitting ZSS, Lucina, and Robin all for the same reason I guess.

That kind of shit goes over all kinds of lines, yeah. 1 Sendou Aichi reacted to this

So why are scalpers being given the benefit of the doubt?
HeyMouseSayCheese 1,133 Posted January 26, 2015 Still, it wasn't an illegal purchase. So why are scalpers being given the benefit of the doubt? Because scalpers are trying to sell things to make money. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they're not insane, which to be fair, is a benefit of the doubt I give most people. BlankShell 638 Posted January 26, 2015 I've said it before, but can we please direct some of this rage to the actual PRODUCER of the product, who clearly had no idea how the market would respond even though this has happened time and again, and will continue to produce low quantities of desirable items even though the they sell out quickly and then create a market subset of scalpers who understand their own business better than they do. Shulk 8,623 Posted January 27, 2015 Ugh, I'm with you on this. Pretty much every major Nintendo-published accessory or limited edition system has been affected by these jerks who are purposely making people miss out on these types of things they actually want. I've literally given up on amiibo because of how quickly scalpers are getting to those. I wish there was some way to stop this from happening, but I sadly don't know how feasible that would be. So instead of being mad at people who are clearly buying way more of these than they'd ever need just so they can screw people over and make them pay $100+ for something that should be $20 (Who the heck needs 16-22 Gamecube adapters? I see no way of excusing that), we should be mad at a company for being the target of these scalpers? If it wasn't for these scalpers, this wouldn't be an issue in the first place. 2 Jim and Hero of Winds reacted to this

Scalpers haven't stopped there though. They've been making a name for themselves fairly recently. They even bought out the limited 5,000 copies of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection - Claptrap In A Box Edition. These special edition copies came with a full size Claptrap RC that was controllable through your smart phone. These were going for $400 due to the hardware and software used to make the Claptrap. Still no one from the Borderlands fanbase wanted to pay $400 for it. I was willing to, myself, cause it's a freaking Claptrap RC, but found out Scaplers already bought it out and have it up on ebay for $600+. Joke's on them though, since no one wants it at the base price anyway. 1 Shulk reacted to this

True, I only mentioned Nintendo since that's the one I've been having to deal with lately, and it seems like pretty much everything they've been putting out is getting taken by scalpers. If only the situation could be turned back on scalpers for other things, too... 1 Hero of Winds reacted to this
