Ultima Spark 753 Posted January 26, 2015 *wonders if Axel will be as creepy in the novel as he is in the game* No, "badassery" is not a word I'd use in this context. You know I'm right. 1 juma086 reacted to this

Fenrissychros 167 Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) Can someone tell me the difference of the mangas and the novels or are they the same? The novels are not drawed, but only text. While the manga focuses more in gags, comical relief and telling the story, the novels focus in some fights, and specially, character development and personalities For example: in the novel of BBS, we know much of it from Vanitas perspective, how he felt when he was born, when Unversed started spawning and him destroying them, which made him feel a lot of pain, growing birth to more unversed. This continued until Xehanort told him that the only way to be out of his misery is to form the X-Blade, which he agreed also becauses he feels lonely and wants to be with Ventus again Short answer: The novels are Awesome Edited January 26, 2015 by Fenrissychros
Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted January 26, 2015 ^ That's like a Harry Potter novel thick. Well, IT was 1,056 pages...so it's half that size. Harry Potter Year 7 was 1,000+ pages.... So... Roughly year 6 thick. 1 Alicia Maddox reacted to this

SolidSnake 13 Posted January 26, 2015 I read some of the volumes, and DAMN I have to say the manga does a way better job at telling the Kingdom Hearts story than the games do! I adore almost everything about the mangas as far as I've read. What catches my eye the most is that they aren't afraid to say stuff like "Shit, hell, and ass" every now and then. And when they do, you better bet you can feel the emotion from the characters! 1 Philip Ellwell reacted to this

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted January 27, 2015 Oh wow, this is pretty great! So wait, are all the Kingdom Hearts games receiving novelized adaptions? If so, I'm going to make it my goal to collect them all!
SolidSnake 13 Posted January 27, 2015 The official translations have no such thing. Are you serious? I read the ones on kh13 and I see those words be used pretty often, especially in the Roxas parts of the manga. And, a particular scene I like is when Sora is about to fight Marluxia and says "I'm gonna kick your ass!!". Like, you can seriously feel the emotion from the characters that way. I guess maybe it was just the translator's choice of words? I actually preferred it when they used those words, as weird as it sounds 1 Philip Ellwell reacted to this

I guess maybe it was just the translator's choice of words? I actually preferred it when they used those words, as weird as it sounds I already mentioned that. Fan scanlators often go overboard in that regard. The Japanese view of "profanity" doesn't really translate well into English, it's more of a consequence of how their language/society/culture is structured. The way you talk/words you use typically imply different politeness levels (or lack of).
juma086 263 Posted January 27, 2015 September! For firetrucks sake, that's like 8 months from now. Edit: Now that I think about it, I suppose they don't want to release these books to close to each other. That might hurt sales.
