What happens to your old copy?

Recommended Posts

When there is a remake or remaster that comes out for a game you already own and you get the new version, what do you do with your old copy? Do you go back to playing it or do you not touch it again? I just wanted to know what you guys do.

For me, it's hard for me to go back to the old copy because the new one is more easy to access for me now because of how newer electronics are easier to have hooked up already.

I keep it on my shelf to look pretty and never play it again just like all my old games

actually, it depends if I like how they did the remaster

I keep all my old copies, because chances are if I bought the remaster that means it's a game I enjoy, and I likely have good memories attached to the original. I don't go back to playing the original unless there were major changes in the game in the remaster or unless I want to relive a more nostalgiac memory, or unless I just feel like comparing the two.

Depends, I guess. Likely a remaster offers something new BESIDES just updated graphics; for KH, it's trophies and additional content, so I wouldn't really want to go back to playing the old versions. However, despite the upscaled graphics for Re:Coded, I'd still actually like to go and PLAY it, so I can deal with some DS level graphics for that. For Pokemon, aside from the graphical overhauls, it's the connectivity; playing older versions is self-contained because I can't transfer any of that progress to newer versions, so I'd rather play the newer versions and have that mean something.

I still don't have any particular inclination to get rid of my games, though.
