juma086 263 Posted January 15, 2015 So I'm playing on Critical mode, and I got to Demyx. Wow, what a pain. I hate this guy SO very much. I've spent an hour on him and I finally beat him. That's when I get killed by a random heartless after the cutscene. Alright, no big deal. I hit continue.Next thing I know, I get sent ALL THE WAY BACK TO BEFORE I FOUGHT DEMYX. WORD? I can't get a f****** checkpoint after fighting a hard boss like that one?! Now, I can't for the life of me defeat this a****** again. I'm about to rage quit... Yuya Sakaki 5,212 Posted January 15, 2015 How'd you get killed by those Heartless after the Demyx fight? O.o The FF characters literally do ALL the fighting for you. BlankShell 638 Posted January 15, 2015 Haha, happened to me once. Wasn't paying attention to Reaction Commands, got hit by one of the Armored Knights. Spamming Reflect is one option. Just take a break and try again, and then pay attention after the fight =P.

HAHAHAHA yeah no water clones are no threat unless you're doing the Data battle
Kalen Bellamy 6 Posted January 15, 2015 You need to use firaga and wisdom fire to mke the fight easy, or maybe that only works for the data battle

(The phrase "dirty reflect spammer" is a particular quote of yours I recall.) 2. Pff, you kidding? Random time limit and inexplicable death in the middle of a boss fight? That's always killed me before Demyx himself ever came close on any difficulty (though to be fair, I haven't tried Critical).

It's not inexplicable either, if you look at Demyx, he's playing a song, and when you die he does a slashing motion. Basically, he's charging a special attack. But his regular fight can be a major pain without reflect, because most of his attacks can't be guarded, since they're water. He also doesn't flinch during a lot of his attacks, and while they are predictable, they cover a LOT of area

I guess I just assumed they did chip damage like Donald and Goofy. I didn't realize how strong they are. I let them take point, and made it through. Thanks for the tip, really made a difference. decisivesora123 39 Posted January 15, 2015 like if you have out limit form it should be impossible to die. just go limit and use sonic rave while the other characters do everything, or you can just block and press x so you use zangetetsugen, like they made it impossible to die in those fights or option B, you may obviously need to train more. like you should be at least 25 to fight him, or if you are a pro level 1, but those people are weird, they were super heros who gave up their powers to play kingdom hearts at level one and succeed. Unless you don't think Reflect is OP and you've been lying this whole time? 2. The reaction command doesn't always work if you're too far away, and the 10 second ones can be a huge hassle because of that. And I don't know if you know this, but you can actually dodge attacks; you don't have to guard them. I never had trouble avoiding the majority of his attacks and healing when I can't avoid them. It's just never been a hassle for me the way the water clones have. (And firetruck that special attack garbage, the game just ends when the timer runs down and there was no message saying "Defeat the water clones before Demyx's final attack!" or anything like that; maybe it's vaguely implied he's charging some super attack, but it's not conveyed well at all.) Nope, reflect is insanely OP and breaks the game, anybody who uses it should feel bad. And I do. 2. well when each of his attacks takes off a third of your health simply avoiding them isn't always gonna cut it. Especially if you don't have Quick Run yet, which many people more than likely won't unless they actively grinded. Not really sure what you mean when you say they don't work. Just keep attacking them and the command will appear unless you're on the data battle, then only using blizzard will make it appear, though I hear firaga is the better solution
Forever 3,550 Posted January 15, 2015 Lack of checkpoints.....about as annoying as defeating Anti-Coat, only to be thrown into an Ansem fight immediately after. Also, I find it hilarious how Demyx is constantly getting reputed as a weakling, yet most folks struggle just to beat the guy. I guess it makes sense...poor lad had a lot to prove. Fight this guy...restock, etc...fight this guy, repeat...just caught me of guard, is all. Good thing Anti isn't really hard. Now, if the game had of jumped straight into the Y. Xehanort battle with no warning, then I would have been in trouble.
Weedanort 8,786 Posted January 15, 2015 I never knew about this, until I saw a livestream of 2.5 in Japanese, where this streamer kept on dying in the Heartless battles right after Demyx You could do the Trinity Strat against Demyx, although I didn't suceed at it when I tried it
Raphael Millon 87 Posted January 15, 2015 Demyx is not that hard if you use the Wisdom Form + Fira trick. Also, I had no idea that you would be sent back BEFORE the battle... that's ridiculous O_O But, here's a hint: For Demyx, use Wisdom Form, Fira and Ethers. keeps spamming this until the Water Clones are gone, when it's Demyx time, use Fira 2~3 times WITHOUT finishing, stop for a second, repeat the process until he's dead. For the heartless wave: when things get serious, limit form is your friend. So is Trinity.
