Level 99 in KH2FM meathod.

I really wanted to avoid this but I'm getting to a point where I'm stuck and inable to level up beyond the level I am at now (being 60). For whatever reason, the Cavern kicks me five ways to Sunday and since this is FM, the old Pride Land trick dosen't even exist anymore. I don't want to spend hours grinding enemies, but the fact that I just can't go anywhere anymore without taking gigantic damage from even basic enemies is really getting me. I normally have the patience to grind levels (Hell, I got to about level 18 in Xenoblade with only like level 10 monsters at max to grind on in my first playthrough) but KH is sort of a game I just hate to grind in, for whatever reason. Last time I leveled up was Monday after about another 10 hours of playing, and I'm really loosing it.

So, anyone got tips? I've seen multiple guides out there, but they're all 3 hour + strategies, nothing like the old school Gull Wing no heal Magnet on Pride Rock done in an hour or so trick, and I would rather not spend most of my time I have to play today grinding levels.

Equip Gull Wing Keyblade and every single exp boost ability you have, then go to TWTNW and let enemies attack you until you have low HP. Now defeat every single one of then without healing until the top of the castle. There's save points in the way up to the castle, so if you need to heal, you can stand there for like a second. Also, second chance and once more are highly recommended.

A similar method is equiping Gull Wing keyblade and photon debugger with the master form and orbs boost abilities and do the same thing but spaming thundaga. Since the only enemies you'll find there are going to be nobodies, they only drop MP orbs, so you can recover magic quite easily.

Issue: I only have Once More. Meaning a stray hit just murders me. Especially due to incredibly low defense.

Well you're gonna have to do some grinding if you want to get to level 99, unfortunately. Try going to the World that Never Was and just fighting your way through from the first alleyway to the point of no return and then leave the world, enter again, and repeat. It doesn't take too long and it nets you a pretty decent amount of Exp. I'd recommend using Final Form and spamming plenty of Magnega's and Thundaga's to clear rooms faster. Also why not pop in some headphones and listen to some tunes to ease the tediousness of grinding?

So this trick worked for me when my level was in the 90's, i wish i figured this out sooner.

Like everyone says equip the gull wing keyblade, the ability makes it so that if your health falls below 30% the amount of experience you get increases. Starting from the bottom of the world that never was, just climb up and down, and then go to the world map and come back and keep repeating that. i got from 90-99 in around 30 mins. and if you feel like it you can level up your forms while your at it. this works best if heartless no longer spawn in the city part of the world that never was. I am normally confusing so i you need me to clear things up just say so.

Then use drive forms (gull wing not needed now) and level up while doing the same travel, so you can level up your forms aswell.

Synthesize to take your mind off of things. At level 60 there's not much that you'll need to be doing to complete the story or anything, so just go for a bunch of miscellaneous sidequests until you're a bit stronger (finish the mushrooms, level up your drive forms, etc) and then the Cavern won't seem so bad, and you can just sort of breeze through the rest.

Go to Yen Sid's tower, the top. Equip all EXP boosts you can, kill the enemies at the first part of the stair. Go into the next room in final form and let the enemies that throw the dice get you down to critical HP then kill them. Keep going down and killing enemies ahead until you're about to revert forms, then get to a save point, exit, and do it all over again. I got Level 99 quickly this way.

Issues: if I'm half way to dead, generally I will die in one to two hits. I don't exactly know why. Maybe because I'm in Critical mode.Anywho, as zone one who use to do literally nothing but KH2 all the time, getting to level 99 and all thst, spending time to grind feels like a real chore

Your option would be the best if I wasn't already basically done with Synthesis. Lucky Lucky is too OP some times, and I only need a few more Limits used in Limit form and I've capped all my drive forms. Mushrooms I feel are something I would rather wait on till I max, as so far it dosen't seem they drop any EXP and even if they do, it's such a miniscule am out that it's not worthwhile. Normally, I farm for the Synthesis items from them from I think number 6 in Holloween Town, as it's literally just master form to Reflect and Ether to win. The Cavern isn't tough in one sense, it's just that Sora is INCREDIBLY squishy. More or less I just don't want to make defense up's because I lack a few of one of the ingredients and am too lazy to look up what they are made of and too lazy to kill those enemies.

Because quite honestly it just gets too boring, even with music. I've played through KH2 so many times, I honestly just want to get to the good stuff at this point.

The old Pride Land trick dosen't even exist anymore.

If you're referring to where you go to Pride Rock and have those hundred-or-so heartless flying about, that actually DOES still exist. I estimate a 25% chance you'll gain the swarm, and the other times you'll get just one. Simply go two rooms away (just leave the mountain to where all the other lions are) and just keep going back and forth. Sooner or later, you'll see the ol' swarm we used to have. (and by the way, Lightning Shard heaven. I must have gotten 40+ last time I went up there and got the swarm.)

There's only so much we can help you with if you just don't feel like doing it =P. It'll be a grind at some point no matter what. If you don't have Second Chance yet, what did you pick at the beginning? Shield is always best for critical.Try going to Pride Lands with Lucky Lucky and farming Elixirs from the Living Bone; it's always good to have a stockpile of those, and they yield a decent amount of EXP.

(I can already buy them, but thanks for the lighting shard info)That's good to know. It's not quite the same, however, as the EXP to room entering rate it still terribly low.

In all my years, I didn't know those dropped Elixir. Well. Anyhow, that is some information I could use, I never have enough Elixir's to go around, so I guess until I hut about level 85 or so that should be OK.

I am really regretting playing this as I would have in any other dificulty. I should have chose shield, but I felt like playing the way I wanted was more important.

You don't need low health you just need to make sure your health is atmost half of your max hp for the ability to work like if hp was at 52 the ability would trigger at 26 HP and you could just spam Magnega then 1-2 Thundaga to kill enemies depending if you have something that gives you Thunder Boost
