Most Underrated Battle Theme?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I agree- that is a good track. The same goes for Desire for All that is Lost and that track that plays during the 1000 heartless battle, whose name escapes me at the moment. In my humble opinion, of course

I think it's for the best that we haven't heard it since KH2. Like if you overuse a song in the series it kinda loses it's power (Simple and Clean, for example, but that's kind of a different context), but this song's lack of use helps the feeling that when you do hear it, it actually means something. I see what you mean about nobody talking about it though.

I like Dance to the Death a bunch. I don't know if you'd consider the gummy mission music as necessarily a battle theme, but that stuff is good as well. In fact, over in Chi, the theme for the final mission - Battleship Bravery - played as the Gummy Hound's theme (a boss). Also, Armor Xemnas 2's theme is fantastic in the remastered version.

I'd say it counts, maybe not the low tempo ones, but most of them are pretty battle-ish

I personally think this one doesn't get enough attention

While themes like Tension and Rowdy Rumble keep coming back, we haven't heard this one since KH2, and nobody ever seems to talk about it, but I think it makes fights a lot more tense, especially the long battles against many Heartless where it's often used

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpfp7STIYfA  I always had a soft spot for this. Doo doo doo doo. Although, I can't remember if it was in the mini-game or actually a proper battle theme. Either way you fight to it in some form.

I'd say for me, the most underrated battle theme is the one for Keyblade Graveyard. Most people will tell you that there is no battle theme for that field. HA! Simpletons, the whole lot of them! You just have to listen VERY closely....oh it's there, just keep listening!.....*sneaks away* X)Yeah, I see what you mean. But I think that's kind of the nature of the beast with the series. Some tracks stay while others get left behind, but that's typically because new track have to be made. That said though, those that were left behind became unique to those games (Squirming Evil, Dance to the Death, The Tumbling, etc.) and made them stand out a good deal on their own. So I wouldn't say that they are "underrated" just because they didn't get integrated into other games.Really? I didn't know that. Since Everglow doesn't show off the raid bosses in Chi (and everybody else who LP's is either not as good or just really annoying), I never really get much of a chance to see those bosses or their borrowed music being showcased that often. :OOMG, YES! Keyblade Cycle does not leave my head easily, nor do I want it to. And yes, it's technically both a mini game AND a boss fight, as the Light Cycle race is where Riku fights the Control Mantis for the first time. Yeah, it's a really awesome track, along with Gigabyte Mantis. I really hope they do a few more techno tracks like those in Kingdom Hearts 3, that would be very boss! :DIn terms of an "underrated" theme, I'd have to go with either "Byte Bashing" (Space Paranoids) or "The Tumbling" (Unversed boss fight, Enchanted Dominion, Deep Space, etc.). I don't tend to hear people talk about them that much, and Byte Bashing sounds 10 times better in 2.5. But other than that everything seems to be plenty recognized to me. It's really hard to pick a favorite theme out of such a beautiful collection of music.

Working Together for sure, never hear anyone talking about this one.

I'm pretty sure this is blasphemy, but I prefer this to Sinister Sundown

Roxas' Data Rematch theme (The Other Promise) always gave me chills, and was the perfect setup. I'd like to see it used again.

Well I mean, it's a nice song... but it's also one of THE most popular Kingdom Hearts songs :P

so it's not exactly underrated

(also it's not exclusive to the Data rematch, it's the same theme used in his story boss battle)

True, but I meant more in terms of a boss battle; I don't think it's used anywhere else besides fighting Roxas (and yeah, his original form too =P. I just beat the Data rematch, so it's fresh in my mind).

it gets a reprise for the Roxas fight in Re:Coded, and they remix it for the HD Remix cutscene version, but yeah, not used a lot (how could they, it's a Roxas theme)

I think the song name you're looking for is Sinister Shadows. Which is an awesome song.
