Please no more old worlds rehashes in KH3

Recommended Posts

I actually agree with your sentiment. I'm sick of visiting some of these worlds, namely Wonderland, Halloween Town, and Agrabah. But I must also concede to the point that since this is the last game of the current story arc Sora should go have closure with all his friends. Personally, I wouldn't care about that if I didn't have to play through some of these worlds again, but then I'm also not the only one playing these games and it's clear from this thread alone that many don't agree with this opinion.

KH3 is the conclusion of the story, Sora has so many friends he promised he would see again, so it's time we concluded those stories as well

Also you talk as if each world is 'rehashed' in any way but graphics. Each time a world is reused it's given a new story, and more often than not new areas to explore

Let me clarify

I mostly means Disney Worlds that appeared more than two or three times

Honestly what has changed in the stories of Wonderland or Monstro?

I'm not gonna lie, I actually think it would be cool for Sora to visit the worlds he hasn't gone to yet but ones we have already seen, as well as areas of worlds that he hasn't explored yet (like fracking Neverland, the actual Neverland, for one).

But more on topic: "rehash" is a strong word. When Sora revisits a world, as a lot of people have already pointed out, the world itself has a fresh coat of paint slapped onto it. In KH1, we went to Agrabah, and we explored a small portion of the Cave of Wonders; in KH2, we went back to the Cave of Wonders and it was expanded upon greatly, which played more into the integral plot as well. In KH1, we went to Halloween Town, where we spent our entire time just in Halloween Town, but then in KH2, we got to go beyond that and visit Christmas Town, and add some more variety along with it. In KH1, we visit Olympus Coliseum, where... we fight in tournaments and nothing much else happens. In KH2, we fight in tournaments, explore the Underworld, and actually follow a plot.

You see, there's a hidden advantage that some Disney worlds have that allows them to be brought back more than once: the possibilities expand with each new visit. I It also help that sometimes, we don't even have to follow the original movie that the world is based on. We follow a different story which allows more breathing room for future installments while at the same time putting an original twist on things instead of just following the movie with our main characters randomly shoe horned in.

I'm not saying that I don't want new worlds either, but I think that reusing old worlds isn't a bad idea either, because there's always a chance to do something new with the properties given. All it takes is a little imagination, and Nomura has shown that he has just that.

Honestly what has changed in the stories of Wonderland or Monstro?

in KH1 in Wonderland Sora Donald and Goofy encounter a trial where Alice is falsely accused, but the Heartless are to blame. Thne they have to gather evidnece to prove her innocence, but the Heartless steal her anyways

in CoM, Alice is falsely accused again, but this time Sora claims he was guilty instead. In the end Alice tricks the Queen and everything works out

In Days... well, Days barely has a story, let's be honest

in Re:Coded, Alice has lsot her memories, and you have to gather them, then you confront the Queen

Monstro

in KH1 Sora Donald and Goofy are sucked in, and encounter Riku, who they fight alongside before he escapes. Then Monstro sneezes and frees everyone

In CoM they set out to find a way to free Geppetto and Pinocchio and do so by fighting Heartless in Monstro's... nose? Throat? I forget, but it's not important. Also Pinochio gets kidnapped and has to learn how to take care of himself

and that was the last time Monstro appeared, unless you count DDD, where you play as Riku, encounter another Riku, and then fight a crab

I respectfully disagree. A lot of worlds did not even live up to their full potential, and it's only a rehash if nothing new can be gained from reusing them.

Like how BBS "rehashed" characters and worlds from KH1, but gave almost all of them something new and meaningful.

Well, sorry to break it to ya, but we will be seeing Olympus Colliseum again in KH3. So, besides Twilight Town and maybe Destiny Islands, that's already one world down.

I also strongly believe Tron's world will be revisited as well, since in KH2 they said they had a feeling they would meet again, and it was further used in Dream Drop Distance with the new Tron Movie. I think everything that happened in that world in DDD just pretty much yelled to you they're definitely going to be back for KH3.

Also, there's probably a chance the Pirates of the Carribean world will be revisited as well.
