Brady Austin 54 Posted December 29, 2014 after playing through dream drop distance im so confused as to why he was overly gullible. It made him look stupid. In the other games he's gullible but not nearly as bad as Dream Drop Distance. So i hope for a change in 3 i mean after traveling the worlds and learning you would think this would be the smartest sora yet. Minor issues i had with DDD 8 PillowHead, Master Keeper, Silent and 5 others reacted to this

Brady Austin 54 Posted December 29, 2014 He will. It's a main game. But there was no issue. i just really felt like his character had a digression rather than a progression. maybe that was the purpose but still felt strange in my honest opinion 4 Kaweebo, Ruby Rose, PillowHead and 1 other reacted to this
Swordinger 110 Posted December 29, 2014 i just really felt like his character had a digression rather than a progression. maybe that was the purpose but still felt strange in my honest opinion Well, basically the journey of Dream Drop Distance is in a summary "just restart from 0. You ain't know shit" and so on. So maybe, and I say m a y b e, the consequence was a Sora a bit more childish. Still, at the end of the trip, our Sora is kinda mature and also, with a strong moral sense. Just look at what he says to Braig almost at the end of his story mode. I guess at the end he has his moment but still it was rough hearing his dialogue sometimes. 4 AwesomeKHfan, Swordinger, Silent and 1 other reacted to this
BlankShell 638 Posted December 29, 2014 I guess it was to make him more of an audience surrogate; I mean, we have no idea what the hell is going on for the majority of the game, so it makes sense that Sora (who's not always the brightest) wouldn't quite "get" it either. Headphone Jack 1,147 Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) I thought SE intentionally wrote him to be more of an idiot so that Riku's character growth would stand out more. Edited December 29, 2014 by Headphone Jack

Caity 3,946 Posted December 29, 2014 It was poor writing. Seeing as Riku was there, and we're meant to see him as smarter, cool and more collected than Sora I feel they dumbed Sora down so Riku appeared like this by contrast, rather than putting Riku in situations where he could demonstrate those attributes. It's pretty disappointing, they made it look like Sora suddenly had a brain injury between KH2 and DDD. With each game it was him growing in character, then plummeting down worse than KH1 when it got to DDD. 10 Brady Austin, AlixtheMagi13, Dave and 7 others reacted to this
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted December 29, 2014 Sora's not really stupid in KHII or DDD, but I feel like ever since KHI and meeting with Donald and Goofy, they had both a positive and negative effect on him. He was a pretty average kid in the first game, but once he learned 'THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP' and all that jazz, he basically turned into a Disney character on his own, which isn't terrible by itself. The problem is that even Disney characters are smarter than him in most cases, look at Mickey or even Goofy in several instances. I think he let this whole 'no sad faces' thing kind of go to his head. However, I feel that DDD in general is very schizophrenic and strange anyway, so I can't entirely fault Sora there, or in CoM, since his head was getting f*cked with. awesomeinmyworld 268 Posted December 29, 2014 Yes, Sora seemed very gullible in 3D. BUT what a lot of people don't realize is that no one expected the Mark of Mastery Test to take the turn it did. While they were preparing for Xehanort's return, they didn't know that he was interfering with the test behind the scenes. Sora seemed gullible because he felt like he had no reason to worry, so he wasn't as serious as he was in past games. He WAS serious when YX appeared and even said some pretty intelligent, philosophical stuff in TWTNW in very simple terms. And that's what Sora supposed to be: a very simple, ordinary person. I do realize though that this is looking very deeply into the game. At face value, Sora does appear very dumbed down and slow compared to Riku and I agree that could be in part to sub-par script writing. I also would like to point out that at least even in 3D, Sora always knows who the villain is, unlike Terra. Terra is more gullible than Sora in my opinion. JBone 30 Posted December 29, 2014 He was sleepin'. Give him a break. Haha. When you're dreaming you just go along with whatever nonsense you subconscious is thinkin'. Sora probably just thought he was having a bad dream. A really bad dream full of Ansems, whatever I'll just keep unlocking keyholes, kind of dream. WishingStar 6 Posted December 30, 2014 Poor Sora just doesn't get a break does he? I haven't played or seen much of DDD but from what I HAVE seen he still isn't as bad as his transition between CoM and KHII.... In my opinion at least >>;; I definitely think Terra was ten times more gullible, just my 2 cents
