Nikki Gross 1 Posted December 28, 2014 1. I was wondering how to get slide dash to work? With BBS slide dash was a command to use during fighting. Is it the same in KH2? What button do I push to get it to work? I used the AP required to equip it I just can't figure out what button is supposed to be pushed. 2. What is the difference between choosing the sword, the shield, and the staff? I think I chose the shield and the only difference I found is that I'm getting different abilities at different times than the sword (which I normally choose). 3. What is the best area to level up at? Is it still Pride Rock (2nd time around)? 4. What is the purpose of leveling up the forms? I've never paid much attention to Sora's forms before but I noticed some websites talk about leveling them up to beat different bosses or get certain abilities. So now I'm curious but I don't know how to level them up. I always run out of time by the time I start actually killing off the heartless thanks to Donald (he keeps targeting the heartless I go after).
Oli 1,679 Posted December 29, 2014 1. (I think you're talking about Air Slide) By leveling up the Wisdom Form, you get the Air Slide ability. You have to equip that ability and then hold the pizza box botton aka square botton. 2. You're right, depending on what weapon you chose during de prologue, you get Sora's abilities at a different level. 3. In KH2 you can use the Pride Land method, but if you're playing KH2FM the best way to level up is in TWTNW with Gull Wing and low amount of health, but this is just my opinion. 4. You get differents abilities. High Jump for Valor Form, Air slide with Wisdom Form, Dodge roll with Limit Form (FM only), Air dodge with Master Form and Glide with Final Form. Valor form: you level it up by just hitting enemies. 1 Exp. point for each hit. Wisdom form: you win 1 exp. point by killing a Heartless. Limit Form: you win 1 exp. point everytime you finish a limit move. Master form: you win experience by collecting drive spheres. The exp. you win depends on how big those spheres are. Final form: you win 1 exp. point everytime you defeat a Nobody. I think this is all. Hope it helped 2 TwoBecameOne and PillowHead reacted to this

I always run out of time by the time I start actually killing off the heartless thanks to Donald (he keeps targeting the heartless I go after). 1) To use Slide Dash, Sora must be a certain distance from an enemy. X (or O in Japan) activates it. 2) Sword, Shield, and Staff determine when Sora/Roxas learns certain abilities, gains Strength, gains Magic, and gains defense. 3) No. The Rapid Thrusters now drop Health orbs instead of Magic Orbs. 4) Leveling forms gives growth abilities every odd lv (lv 3 gives Sora access to the lv 1 ability), e.g., Dodge Roll for Limit Form. Valor gains 1 point of Exp. for every hit Sora lands while in Valor Form. Wisdom gains 1 point for every Heartless defeated in Wisdom Form. Limit gains a point for every successful limit, e.g., Strike Raid. Master gains points from drive orbs (1 small orb = 1 point; 1 large orb = 3 points). Final gains 1 point for every Nobody. The even levels give you things like Draw (Limit, lv 6). Edited December 29, 2014 by SkullMajora
RoxSox 3,593 Posted December 29, 2014 Slide Dash isn't how it works in BBS, in BBS it's a movement ability but in KH2 it's just a function that allows Sora to home in on a distant enemy quicker. To get something resembling the Slide Dash ability from BBS, you need to level up Wisdom Form to get the Quick Run ability.
Nikki Gross 1 Posted December 29, 2014 Okay, thanks for your responses. But now I have a couple new questions. 1. Is it recommended to level up quickly in the beginning? If so, where/how is the best place/way to do it? 2. Is there a specific time/place to level up Sora's forms? Thanks again for your help. I'm exploring more while playing KH2.5 remix than I did in the original KH and I'm coming across all kinds of new things, like puzzles and this weird book in Olympus Colliseum. And I swear there are new heartless too but I don't know for sure. Point is I'm enjoying this all over again, as if I'm playing for the very first time again (and the best part is I can play BBS on the PS3 and on my PSP)

If you're playing on critical mode, I recommend you to level up in the beginning. You can use the "station of awakening" trick during the Prologue that consist on defeat the nobodies of there and then go back to the door of the first stained glass thing to the place where the save point is, so when you're going back to the Station of Awakening, the nobodies respawn there. 2. You can level up valor form in practically every world. I like to level up wisdom form in Land of Dragons because is where the weakest heartless are. The same thing happens with limit form, you can level it up in every world. To level up master form you can go to those places of Land of Dragons where there are those things that I don't know the name that explodes when you attack them and drop drive balls, or go to timeless river and defeat the enemies inside the four windows. The best place to level up final form is in TWTNW. That weird book in Olympus Colliseum is an absent silouhette and you can fight the members of the Organization that were sent (and defeated) in Castle Oblivion. Nikki Gross 1 Posted December 29, 2014 Thanks Oli. I'm on standard mode on KH2 this time around (I like to beat it on each mode so the game doesn't go so fast, which is why I LOVED BBS since you have to play it a minimum of three times). So does that mean on standard mode I don't have to level up quickly in the beginning? I just finished Olympus Colliseum (1st time) and I'm level 19. And I learned the benefit of the ability that lets you gain more EXP at half health (I gained 3 levels from the start to finish of Olympus Colliseum!). You can tell I don't normally use help when playing lol. Anyway, thanks for responding. 1 Oli reacted to this

There you'll see Mushroom No. V. Drive into Valor, activate him and attack him. Each hit is worth one experience point. Rinse & Repeat. Wisdom Form: Go inside all the windows in Timeless River and beat all the heartless in there. Each killed heartless is worth one experience point. Rinse & Repeat. Limit Form: Once again, go to the treasure chambe inside the Cave of Wonders in Agrabah. There you'll see Mushroom No. V. Drive into Limit Form and get near the exit of the room. Since you are in combat, you can use your limits. Make sure you use Sonic Blade. Each finished Limit is worth one experience point. Rinse & Repeat. Master Form: Go inside the Mysterious Tower in Twilight Town. Ascend the stairs until you get to a room with gambler nobodies. Equip theSweet Memories keyblade and equip all abilities effecting orb drops. Drive into Master Form, but don't attack the nobodies. Play and win their game. They will drop drive orbs. Each small orb is worth one experience point and each big orb is worth three experience points. Rinse & Repeat. Final Form: Go through The World That Never Was. Start from Proof of Existence and go down until you reach the lower region of Hall of Empty Melodies. Kill all the nobodies on your way there. After getting there, go up until Proof of Existence and enter one of the two portals there. After entering this, most enemies will have respawned. Rinse & Repeat. Tip: If you're about to run out of your Drive Gauge, enter the world map through a save point while still being in a form. Upon returning to a world, your drive gauge will be full again. This'll save you much time.
Ventus_ 396 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Even the first time around the Pridelands provide very good grinding. Just finished it up yesterday and had run around every single area of the world (which is required to make the heartless reset) until I beefed up from level 31 to 40 before taking on Scar. It was the first time since starting the game that I've really gotten to properly grind. Edited January 2, 2015 by FinalRest
