this seriously warms my heart. im so glad that the players of FFXIV actually came together to pay their respects to a fellow player in his last moments of life. they must have made him feel so honored in his last moments. im so glad that there exists a community of people that are this nice. when i heard about this, i just couldent not share it. it really brings a tear to my eye and i think you guys might have wanted to hear about it. rest in peace Codex Vahlda.

Just, wow- no words to describe how touching it is so many strangers could come together and pay their respects to someone many of them probably hardly even knewWhat an amazing community

And some people still believe it's impossible to reach out from a further distance. As someone mentioned in the comments on Kotaku, we may be tethered behind computer or TV screens, but that doesn't necessarily mean we can't reach out with our hearts and souls. If there's anything Kingdom Hearts has taught all of us, it's that our hearts are connected. A stronger connection, means a stronger heart. We build relationships and other such connections to fortify our hearts and no matter what your source of interaction is, it's still quite possible to feel they way the community in FFXIV do during this situation. People took moments out of their free time to pay respects to a stranger in this game. Everyday, just a little bit of my faith in humanity is restored.

This happens a lot in ff xiv. not all the stories are told but many players who have passed or any of that kind of thing get remembered.

rly? im glad thats the case. sry for those who passed, but if it had to happen, then im glad they made something good out of it.

There's a 14 day free trial at the moment. I started playing yesterday on PS4. Seems pretty good so far.

I read this yesterday, and planned on posting it here but ended up not for whatever reason. This really surprised me, though. I've never heard of an MMO with people this caring. Hearing about the response of this community really impressed me. Also, R.I.P. Codex. I never knew you, but given what your friends did for you, I'm sure you were a really good person.

As someone who doesn't even like modern FF games, reading this honestly made me start to consider giving this one a shot. If the community is that friendly, I feel like it could be worth a shot. Just don't know if I have anything I could play it on.
