HMK Has My Exact Reasoning for No Star Wars or Marvel

Recommended Posts

It's very different. Pirates and Tron are original Disney properties that add to the magic of Kingdom Hearts. I'll admit that the appearances were weird, but the magic was there.

Yeah and Disney is a business. The Avengers and this new Star Wars saga are MASSIVE. Getting one or both of them in KH3 could be huge for the series, and Disney would consider it marketing for The Avengers III and Star Wars IX.

I see someone doesn't play his games for the experience.

Of course I play them for the experience, but I also understand the business side of things which is even more important in this day and age.

For someone who takes gaming as a serious passion, I think it's better that they open they're own eyes to the experience and drop the whole business bullshit. This is why Nintendo games are always good. They're more worried about putting out an experience that they, themselves would enjoy over using it as a business. Nintendo would have practically crashed had they focused on the business side to games. It's also why Naughty Dog games are just as good.

I'd disagree, personally I don't like many Nintendo games and their consoles nearly always struggle but Nintendo doesn't care because they're rich.

Naughty Dog is a small company owned by Sony, I definitely wouldn't compare them with say Square Enix.

That's why Pokémon, and several other Nintendo franchises games are always good: they leave a mark on us. A good mark xD

I can see star wars and marvel in kingdom hearts 3, but if it isn't in kingdom hearts 3, i'm not going to go complain about why they should have put star wars and marvel in kingdom hearts 3.

If Disney was smart, they'd put their money into the new saga after the Dark Seeker saga. This line of kingdom hearts games attracts mostly people between the ages of 14-26, just because a majority of people who still pay attention to the games played KH1 at a very young age. Putting Marvel or Star Wars in a series that has already been so highly developed on classic Disney films, too many games to keep up with, and a generation that grew up on a different Disney setting would be a setback. Gathering a new generation of people and a new set of ideals on a different saga would attract more people to invest in the new games without having any thoughts as to what the games should be like.

Okay. I still would like to see Star Wars, anyway.

Port Royal was really only out of place for me because of the actor playing Jack Sparrow, who (in my opinion) was miscast. Otherwise, I applaud the novelty of other Disney properties being incorporated to add something fresh and different.

Flawed logic.  All Marvel films for the past few years are original disney properties. The newest Star Wars movie is an original disney property. Disney didn't make nightmare before christmas or pirates, but they're original disney properties. If anything, Star Wars fits better with the "magic" of kh than either of those.

Fun fact, the VA of Jack Sparrow is the same as that of FFX Tidus.

He's also the voice of Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank and Obi-Wan from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. So, he's not a bad voice actor...he's just a bad Johnny Depp.

Movies don't have a magic feeling, or give one off in the game because they are made by Disney. Movies have magic because they did a lot of things right.

Or let me counter with another question. Final Fantasy isn't made by Disney, so why doesn't it ruin the magic of the experience? Because the characters are used in the right ways and were well created characters.

I completely agree with HMK.  I'd say Marvel and Star Wars should stay out of KH3.  I know what he is talking about when he speaks of magic.  There has been one tone ever since the series started and KH3 will be a dramatic turn for the series.  Why put in something that is not directly from Disney now and blow it? They haven't put anything Pixar, so they should not add Marvel or Star Wars until after KH3. Then, they can go all out. If they still put it in, I'll be a bit disappointed unless they make it amazing, and then I will change my mind. Otherwise, it should stay out for now.

Marvel: Yes, Please. I'm not saying throw the whole Avengers in there, but a Guardians of the galaxy world or something could work. There is nothing more magical than the relationship between Rocket And Groot.

Star Wars: It has a huge influence on Kingdom Hearts. Xemnases Ethereal Blades, Sora yelling "Force!" When using gravity, Strike Raid?, Etc. I bet they'll jump at the chance to include it in some way. I would be fine with Darth Vader as a super tough hidden boss.
