So Sora has wings now? *Spoilers!*

So I need to get this off my chest ever since I read it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the KH3 footage was shown this week, someone described Sora in one of the scenes as having angel like wings? This is huge if its true. My mind is exploding with all kinds of theories and ideas on this one. I have three possible answers. Either this is part of an updated Drive Form ability, its a new equipable ability, or it has something to do with the actual plot of the story. I'm super hyped over this guys! I thought this sort of thing only happened in fanfiction.

Drive form is the most likely scenario. It's the only thing thatd make sense to me, but yku never know. I say sounds good either way. lets just see where it goes.

But yeah, I think it could just be a really fancy drive form. ALTHOUGH, it has the potential to be more.....on Riku's Keyblade, there's a demon wing AND angel wing present. We know that demon wings represent the Darkness, but angelic wings have not gotten much focus in this game yet. Perhaps it's symbolic?

They'll probably limit its capabilities because just flying everywhere would be too easy. I have a feeling it's a drive form and you can only fly limitlessly when it's activated, and almost limitlessly as a growth ability.

I can see it being some sort of world-based look. Much like how Sora was a Lion in the Pride Lands World, or in Atlantica.

They're probably not constant, it's probably a special combo finish like Explosion in KH II, except instead of exploding orbs of light surrounding him, he temporarily sprouts wings. Or a Drive Form like people are saying (how was "OMG DRIVE FORMS ARE BACK" not all over the statuses?) But I think a special attack is more likely.

 

I'm thinking it'll go like this, Sora sprouts wings of light, soars into the air, and does a few diving swoops at the enemy before finally driving down on them HARD, think the second attack of Riku's Rising Wing Dual Link Style

Well, I think Final Form was more or less supposed to be the opposite of Anti Form, since Anti Form represented Sora's time as a Heartless and Final Form represented his Nobody. Though we probably won't have Final Form since we're going to loose the Synch Blade ability once we give Ven his heart back.

It's weird to me, though, that we learn about this right after Dream Drop Distance: where Sora falls into Darkness, has his heart shattered, etc. This sort of worries me. I thought they were going to have Sora acknowledge the Darkness within him in III, and try to learn to control it a bit, but this makes him look like the Light poster boy again. Hmm...

 

I'm probably over-thinking this. And they might just be trying to not spoil the Darkness thing if that is a plot point, but I hope they don't end up ignoring what happened with Sora completely. That's what got him into trouble the first time, after all.

 

I mean, I'm not expecting Sora to go too Dark, and he always will be the Light poster boy for the most part, I know, but this seems better suited for Kairi or Ventus to me, as neither of them have Darkness in their hearts (well, Ven's was stripped away, but you know what I mean).

 

Don't get me wrong! I'm not opposed to this idea, really. I'm mainly just theorizing out loud. Ignore me. LOL. (And now I'm wondering if this his hinting at Sora's connection to Ven even more, and that he's even closer to waking up at this point of the game, or something?)

 

Though... I'm not really sure why people want Drive Forms back so much:/ Personally, I like each game having its own special thing, Drive Forms, Command Styles, Flowmotion, what have you, and I don't want them to start changing that idea here. Plus, as Isamu_Kuno said, we won't even be able to dual wield after freeing Ven, so it sort of seems pointless to me. -shrugs-

 

Which... is why I really hope this is something other than a much too overpowered Drive Form, but we shall see.

 

Unless III has a bit of everything in it that we've seen thus far, since it's the grand finale. That would be pretty cool, and I could better accept Drive Forms then:D

 

Edit: Wait a second, Sora was wielding Oathkeeper during all of this, right? That might be the answer right there! I mean, Kairi's pretty angelic, being a Princess of Heart and all.

 

Maybe different Keyblades do different things for you in this game, based on who gave them to you? So, for instance, a Keyblade from Ariel would possibly be water-y, and be short ranged but pretty brutal (since that was how her own attacks were in KH1)? I'm totally just spit balling here, but it seems like an idea to me:)
