I'm not that far in either I'm just about to go to Land of Dragons but from what I have seen so far yeah the loading times from scene to scene aren't that bad but the time from when you enter drive is just agonizing and looked to have been better in the JP version of the game, maybe they will make a patch but most likely not.

No they aren't. In fact, the JP version is actually more stable then the US version.

How is the NA version less stable? It should be at least the same. There's no reason for it to be worse.

As for the load times, I see no issues at all where many people were complaining (cutscene load times, opening the save menu, ect.), the only delays I'm seeing compared to the original 2FM are when you use a drive. And in all honesty its not that bad.

This might have something to do with my PS3 though. I have the old 80gig backwards compatible one, the ones that were designed to be able to play PS2 games. Perhaps this improves the performance of KH2FM in 2.5 for me? I have no clue, but it's one possible theory, because watching some people do playthoughs of the Japanese version on Twitch and Youtube, then comparing it to my NA version as I play though it, there is a noticeable improvement in load times.

First time I used Valor it took almost 10 seconds to transform.

I find it very hard to believe that.

So far, the longest I've had to wait for a drive is 3, maybe 4 seconds. I know that it used to be 1 to 2 seconds on the PS2, but its certainly not 10. If it does actually take you this long to drive, your PS3 might have a problem.

The US version is less stable. There seem to be random 1 second freezes in battles. The load times are a issue. Way worse then the original 2FM. People who haven't played KH2 won't notice it but who have played a lot of KH2 will notice.

The fat PS3 has the slowest loading times of all. The super slim has the fastest. The Drive form load times are bad. Sometimes it takes up to 5 seconds. It is ridiculous. The fact that you HAVE to pause in order for them to load faster is a issue. That or go into one and instantly revert then go back into the same one.

Well, so far I have had no 1 second freezes, and I have had no issues with the load times. They seem to be a LITTLE bit longer than they were in the original 2FM, but only sometimes and not by much at all. Most of the time they are just as fast.

Also, I've played through KH2 and KH2FM dozens of times with hundreds of hours of gameplay in each, so I know what I'm talking about. I'm not saying that you don't know what you're talking about, or that these problems don't exist at all, its just that most of them do not exist for ME. And if they don't for me, I'm sure there are others out there who don't have them either. Not that everything is perfect mind you. As I said, the drive transformation is the one thing that is noticeably slower, but I've only seen about 4 seconds at most so far.

As for the fat PS3 being the slowest, keep in mind that there are many types of fat PS3's. Very few of them have backwards compatibility with PS2 games. Mine does. Perhaps that makes a difference.

Ehh, no? It really depends on which PS3 you have. Fat (which I have), is ugh. (Super) Slim is supposed to be faster.

Drive forms take forever if they aren't kept in the data, and I've been having some slight "freezing" when a battle starts. For example, the Hydra battle (I only know this is somewhat consistent because I kept dying on crit). Sometimes screen transitions are fast, but other times slow as a snail.

I have not tested or played BBS, so no comments on that.

Just remember everyone: The moment you choose the Drive Form, pause the game for 3-4 seconds, and you'll enter the Form instantly.

That tip is great for the Data Battles ;)

hows that instant if you still have to wait

Instant is probably not the right word. When you go into drive forms, battles still occur, so you'll be unable to move while the enemy continues to move. Once the form has fully loaded and you're able to move again, the enemy could already be attacking you. If you happen to be on crit, then you're pretty much dead.Only if you pause the game, then it will still load and nothing else changes.

thanks for the advice then

I really haven't run in to any freezing issues. Load times are noticeably a tad bit longer than my KH2 PS2 disc. Nothing unbearable.

It might just feel longer to me because the spinning heart isn't there to reassure me half the time (before some cutscenes?) like it was with 1.5 (which I personally had no problems with loading screens).

Testing the Valor form. On average takes about 4-5 seconds for me... definitely more awkward than the PS2 version but I can deal with that.

I have an original 60GB PS3 with HDD upgraded to 500, if it matters.

Don't think they are too bad to be honest. Was expecting loading to be much worse from what I heard but I can live with it. Drive forms are definitely a pain though but the work around works just fine.

Meh I was exaggerating a small tab. It's more like 5-7 seconds.
