Reason being that Square-Enix is afraid like most companies to step out of the proverbial box and sticks to Heterosexual couples or none at all. But disney has a say so too its either hetero no notero. but i highly doubt anything will be canon, kh is about friendship not romance. leave that for the disney couples. I know it's already there, but I honestly think the story would be better without any romance.
