Exiblade7 1,917 Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) Keep in mind that this is my opinion. I don't really like open world games because they MAKE me explore when I don't like to explore. I really like Skyward Sword because it gave me a sense of direction of where I am going until I finished the game. littleTSUBAME 483 Posted November 30, 2014 It's just a matter of opinion, similar to me not liking FPS games. 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) That's perfectly fine, lots of people don't like open-world games. What's not cool is to say that they should stop being made just because you don't like them, even if other people enjoy them a lot. Minato arisato 253 Posted November 30, 2014 it depends on how the open world is built around and sense of direction, by the way what games have you played from loz series?

Minato arisato 253 Posted November 30, 2014 I have played all of them except for zelda 2 and four swords adventures. Wait hold on, your confusing me so you don't like how the a majority of loz games had open world elements or were open ended like you know the wind waker? It also didn't interfere on how I play it. Edited November 30, 2014 by Toon Link
kingdomlanelover 494 Posted November 30, 2014 I both like and dislike open world games. If the world is cool to explore, then I will. But sometimes, they are just empty fields of nothingness.

There are more I have , but that would take like forever to type. a link to the past had open direction in where you went, so is that what your implying? as for link between worlds i can't say as i haven't played the game, but for twilight princess it had mini games and side activities with a linear path just like most of the successful titles like oot, majora's mask, and skyward sword. bit 944 Posted December 1, 2014 Its not weird, and I respect your opinions and everything, but like, Sky ward Sword was more Linear than Super Mario Bros. on the NES 1 Isaix reacted to this

It's not as linear as FF13. I would be complaining if it was that linear. Edited December 1, 2014 by Toon Link

That's just me It's not a weird thing and it's perfectly understandable For me I prefer a balance between open world and linear progression Sure give me a huge world to explore and see but make it clear where should I go to next to progress the plot and make traveling through said world fun instead of having it being a chore(looking at you Skyrim and Dragon's Dogma) Don't make it too open with no clear direction like Skyrim nor a linear hallway like Final Fantasy XIII For me games like the Zelda series, classic Final Fantasy games from 4 to 9 and Xenoblade Chronicles did the job well enough for me Edited December 1, 2014 by Smash Mega Koopa 2 Sendou Aichi and Exiblade7 reacted to this
