Reversal 53 Posted July 29, 2010 http://www.toonzone.net/news/articles/34467/nick-greenlights-fairly-oddparents-live-action-movie-to-premiere-in-2011 Nickelodeon has announced a live-action adaptation of The Fairly OddParents is in production, and is set to premiere on Nickelodeon in 2011. Titled A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner, the movie will feature Drake & Josh star Drake Bell as a grown-up Timmy Turner; Daniella Monet as Tootie; and Jason Alexander and Cheryl Hines as Cosmo and Wanda, Timmy's fairy godparents. The plot of the movie features a 23-year old Timmy still in fifth grade because a child will lose his fairy godparents as soon as he "grows up." Things are complicated by a grown-up Tootie returning to town as a gorgeous grown-up and by Hugh J. Magnate (Steven Weber) attempting to capture Cosmo and Wanda for his own nefarious purposes. Seriously.

Reversal 53 Posted July 29, 2010 ... Wtf? My reaction was between "What is this I don't even" and "Wtf?"
Space Cowboy 1,392 Posted July 29, 2010 I'm speechless. Nick has turned from being one of the best cable companies, to shit. I can't even believe this, WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS?
Tails 6,690 Posted July 29, 2010 This is crap, one of my favorite TV series I like besides spongebob, drake and josh, and Icarly is going to get ruined
Kaiso 2,764 Posted July 29, 2010 Maybe it's trying to compete with all of the Ben 10 live actions? I really don't know. ._. This kind of seems like major fail and I LOVE the fairly odd parents. D8 ._. The plot seems....weird. I would at least be okay if he actually was maybe perhaps 18? Going to college and needing to learn to grow up as he progresses through that? Either way, a live action receives a big fat NO from me. It might have at least been somewhat more appealing if it was still a cartoon.... maybe. D8 But as the newer episodes go on it kind of lost it's luster. >; But eh.. I still don't believe it. /shotshot
DragonMaster 1,166 Posted July 29, 2010 ... WTF was all I could think while reading this. I already know it will fail. Seriously, you'd think they would learn from "The Last Airbender". T_T
rho 9 Posted July 29, 2010 I don't think it will be too bad. Also, Daran Norris is confirmed to be playing Timmy's dad. Here's an image of the live-action Vicky: http://pics.livejournal.com/okapifeathers/pic/000zf6wq
CardCaptorDeadpool 386 Posted July 29, 2010 Why cant it be animated? TL;DR its missing Tara Strong (Timmy [Rikku]) and Susan Blakeslee (Wanda [Maleficent]) and as much as I like Daran Norris he IS Comos.
rho 9 Posted July 30, 2010 Jesse Reid is playing AJ: (I was expecting it to be Leon Thomas. -shrug-) Also, here's some clips, featuring Crocker: M_nZlYZR1tI

heartless101 83 Posted August 9, 2010 this is stupid they made the (possibly 2nd best) TV show on Nick to a bunch of crap
Amon 4,279 Posted August 10, 2010 I don't know what to say. It's either going to be a huge success or a giant load of epic fail.
baylaust 2,531 Posted August 11, 2010 As stupid as this all sounds, and as bad as it looks, it looks like they got Crocker right. He nailed the voice, and the way he goes "FAIRIES!!!!" was kinda funny. Having said that, I still believe that this will be a flaming pile of s***. Kaiso 2,764 Posted August 12, 2010 Who knows, maybe the more... younger viewers may like it. I don't think I will though. I did like how Crocker acted in that short clip though. He seemed very good for the part and seems like he might be one of the... better actors for as bad as how I feel the movie will turn out. At least I can count on him. =

EaglesFan887 11 Posted August 16, 2010 Wow... I thought it would be great! Once I saw the thread title, I figured, "yes! A fairy odd parents live action film. Sure I'm 14, but the show was great. A live action will be great!" Then I click thread, see first post, and read the plot. 23 year old Timmy. In 5th Grade. Horrible Plot and sorry Nick but stupidest plot ever. But never know.. I'm gonna see it anyways.
Tsunamo 62 Posted August 16, 2010 Yet another great cartoon that has been made into a terrible Live Action Movie, a shame really.
