Tails 6,690 Posted July 28, 2010 Well, I see that a lot of you guys aren't really going for critical mode because you want to get used to the controls right? Well, I am doing critical mode when i get the game. I know what you're thinking, why is this guy going to try that mode if he hasn't experienced on how to use the deck command? Well I am one of those "hard core gamers" I love a challenge. But, I just want to to be sure on some things before I do it. Is it true that all the bosses will be insanely hard? If it is then WOW that sounds fun. If there's anything else you want to tell me about critical mode then feel free to post it. P.S. please don't post any "I will do this mode and then that mode" because there is a thread for that stuff.

SeighartX 0 Posted July 28, 2010 Very interesting well I wish you the best of luck in your challenge, but yea I am really not so sure about how strong the bosses become under the influence of critical mode.
Think Pink 1,967 Posted July 28, 2010 Everything's going to be a lot harder. Yah...I do think you're crazy.
hatok 6,413 Posted July 28, 2010 See the thing is that Critical mode is TOO hard for someone to try on their first try. It requires intense amounts of management, in KHIIFM+ you had half health, while receiving more damage, enemies had more health to,a and higher defense. You're going to have to be able to use every ability to its fullest extent, and you'll certainly have to do a lot of grinding to get certain moves to a certain power level. Not just bosses, basic enemies will be insanely hard. How are you at KHII? Can you block well? Do you used varied attacks, or just mash X? You can see the general difficulty by looking at KHIIFM+ on youtube, it has critical mode, but normal mode of BBS is described as harder than normal of KHII, so odds are Critical will be even harder. Make sure you know what you're getting into, don't just do it because you're 'hardcore'

I failed miserably lol. You have to get used to it first. I died against Demyx a few times. Demyx. Beat me. So yeah i suggest you get used to the difficulty of the game a bit. Maybe do Proud first if anything.
AxiriDeschain 0 Posted July 29, 2010 Everyone else has a point, their reasoning for putting Critical Mode on hold is so that they can actually play the game first. I can understand that you're a "hardcore gamer" 'cause I am as well, but there should be a diifference between a hardcore gamer and somebody wanting to show off. To be honest, I also relish a challenge, but I want to know the game and enjoy it, the characters and the story before I make it all about grinding and calculations. Feel free to do what you want, but just know that you don't have to prove anything to anyone.

Mithurshun 2 Posted July 29, 2010 The reason why i don't want to play Critical Mode first is because i want to save it for later. If i start at the hardest level i would feel like i already completed the game.
heartless101 83 Posted July 29, 2010 Since I've gotten used to the commands in BBS Jap, I'm for sure gonna do Critical Mode. The only change I believe in commands from Jap BBS to Eng BBS is that X is attack for english BBS and O is Jap BBS. I've done Begginer mode for all 3 of them and I've beaten Proud Mode with all 3 of them for Jap BBS. My only CONCERN for Critical Mode is the secret boss, I'm not really concerened about Vanitas Sentiment because that he is super easy if you know his moves because they're basicly all in a pattern. I will probably go to at least Level 65 before I tackle the secret boss and I'll level up my deck commands to level 5 (the highest level of deck commands)
OblivionRider 50 Posted July 29, 2010 I've done Begginer mode for all 3 of them and I've beaten Proud Mode with all 3 of them for Jap BBS. Poor Standard got left out. I sure hope that your HP isn't halved like in KH2FM+.
heartless101 83 Posted July 29, 2010 @OblivionRider: your hp isn't halved out like it is in KH2FM+ because if you watch the E3 trailer from the secret boss, Aqua has the most HP you can get in the whole entire game

And they probably just wanted show how strong the boss is. Looking at the video, the boss took could take Aqua faster than the first secret boss.
