FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Hey, it looks great!  I'm glad to see that XIII-2 is receiving the attention it deserves. : )

I've been on and off constantly with Final Fantasy 13, I bought it, sold it, then bought it again and sold it again.

I finally bought it on sale on steam but haven't played it yet. Is FF13 good? I know like 90% of people hate the game with a passion.

It really depends on your personal preferences.  I know everyone has varying opinions regarding the series, though it seems like the majority actually "like" the game.  It's just you hear a lot from the haters because, well, when someone hates something they're typically more vocal about it than liking it. : P  Overall I think they're worth playing as they're rather good overall, but I will agree that I don't think they're the best FF games out there.  That's reserved for the classics!

Well I do love him cause I also loved Final Fantasy X and X-2. I do wonder what his next projects are!?

It's looking like X-3 but we'll hopefully find out in the next month or so.

Yes! We must keep telling Square Enix we want it on PS4!

How about some new Final Fantasy games instead of more ports? Getting tired of the PS4 getting all these ports. If people want to play the FF XIII series than they should just buy them on PS3.

Tails please learn about what you're talking about.

Word of Final Fantasy & FFXV are coming to PS4 in 2016.

Square Enix has released multiple Final Fantasy games this year.

All Final Fantasy remasters have been outsourced. How did you think Toriyama & Kitase made XIII-2 & LR while remastering VII, VIII and X/X-2 HD? They outsourced VII, VIII and X/X-2 HD to DotEmu and Virtuos respectively. The XIII series for PS4 & Xbox One would be outsourced. The same is already happening with XII HD.

The only person who doesn't seem to know what outsourcing remasters means is Nomura since all the KH remasters and movies were made by the KH3 team.

Yes I'm aware of FF XV's release lol.

And I meant new FF games on PS4. Sorry about that. SHould've been more specific.

Also what's the major difference if a HD rmeaster gets outsourced or not? Never understood what outsourcing a game does. Just curious :P

Well there's two brand new ones next year along with all the new XIV content. That's plenty.

Outsourcing means basically you send data to an external developer and they do whatever you want with it for you.

So, eg. BD1 (Kitase's division) sent the X & X-2 data to Virtuos and they remastered the games while the BD1 staff focused on Lightning Returns.

Or in BD3's case: Nomura got the KH3 team to make 1.5, 2.5 and now 2.8 while they made KH3 so in other words their time is split between the two.

Oh OK. Well thanks for the info. I always seen you say "outsourcing" but never knew what that meant, haha.

So, in the end, if Caius died, Etro would die too and time would stop flowing as it should, thus evoiding any Yeul from dying, and he would protect Yeul eternaly.

Now, here is the question, why did it have to be Noel the one to kill Caius and not himself commiting suicide? This may be said in game, but I honestly can't remember anything like it, so the only thing I thought about is that the ideal thing for Caius would have been to open the gate to the Unseen Realm without him dying, but if he failed against Lightning or crashing both Cocoons, he would die and the gate would be open anyway, thus evoiding any Yeul from dying once again. However, this answer doesn't seem correct as in Lightning Returns, Caius is back again, which means that he wouldn't mind dying anyway because he was going to stay arround.

If anyone has a better answer to this question, please, tell me.

Thanks for answering ;)

Wasn't the Caius in LR only around because the will of the Unseen Chaos (every yuel who ever lived and died) wanted him to be? But he couldn't be killed either because of the other half of the unseen chaos wanted something else?
