Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted November 6, 2014 (edited) Okay so I've been locked in a discussion with someone on another sight about the price of the CE. I think it's apropriate because the way I see it you're gettign 4 games for $20 each, $5 for the plush $15 for the art book and the 2 video volumes and the pin are free. this other person thinks that because 1.5 is a year old now and most retailers have it for $20 that the total price should be $80 What do you think, Is $100 too much or right on the mark? And if it's too much, what do you think would justify the extra $20? NO_HEART_XIII 312 Posted November 6, 2014 Well, if you're poor, you're probably going to complain. However, I'm not, so I don't care about the price. lol. 1 Kello reacted to this
Demyx. 10,064 Posted November 6, 2014 I think $100 is a pretty fair price. 1 Kello reacted to this
Cucco 1,907 Posted November 6, 2014 Yeah it's an appropriate price. I just wish there was a version without 1.5 so it would be a little cheaper.
Rinax 473 Posted November 6, 2014 $40 (or was it $35?) for 1.5, and $40 (or $45 for Canada...damn rates) for 2.5. $20 for the soundtracks, artbook, etc. Good price for me.

Rinax 473 Posted November 6, 2014 Well, to be fair, there is no soundtrack in the US/UK version Oh, I got mixed up with the Japanese edition. Maybe I'm just used to paying more for things.

HikariYami 354 Posted November 6, 2014 Pretty fair, honestly. It is a collectors edition.
advfox 698 Posted November 6, 2014 It's seems more like an eighty-dollar value to me. I can't do anything to change the price though, so I'm not going to complain about it.
BlankShell 638 Posted November 6, 2014 Well, let's break it down. KH2.5: MSRP $40 KH1.5: MSRP $20 (the Greatest Hits version now retails for that) Heartless plushie: ~MSRP $30 (based on the price from SE's online store) Artbook: $?? Steelbook: $?? Box: $?? Pin: $?? You're already at 90/110 (the extra plus ten for shipping, if we're talking extremes). So really, it all depends on how much value you place on the Artbook, the Steelbook, the pin, and the packaging. From a purely retail standpoint, I think the CE is a damn fine deal, better than a lot of CEs you find out there. However, your mileage varies a lot depending on how much you think the other stuff as worth, as well as including 1.5. Personally, I don't mind spending the extra 20 on 1.5, since I think the rest of the stuff more or less outweighs that, not to mention that this is the only place you'll be able to get said extra items. 1 qwertywarrior16 reacted to this
TB298 114 Posted November 7, 2014 Pretty fair You get Kh1.5 and 2.5 (which cost about $60-$80) The heartless plushie (about $25 I think) Pin is probably free (since the pin also comes with the limited edition for no extra cost) Artbook and Steelcase probably cost $15 Do the math $60+$25+$15= $100 +shipping
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted November 7, 2014 It's fair, I just don't feel like spending it.
John Casey 25 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Hell no it's not worth it. While ultimately the price of the extra goodies is subjective, it can still fairly be compared to the stuff other editions get. So with that, let's see just how much of a ripoff this set is: KH 2.5: -Both games, for a total value of $60 -A 9 inch plush, a box, a steel book and a 30-page hardcover book for a total value of $40 -Hence, we get the $100 price tag Now for some similar stuff with the same (or cheaper) price tag (MSRP of course): Your average Blizzard Entertainment Collector's Edition: -The game/expansion itself, anywhere from $40 to $60. Let's just settle down for an even $50. -The box to hold everything in, a soundtrack CD, a making-of DVD and blu-ray, a hefty 200-plus page hardcover art book, and usually some other bonus goodie(s), ranging from a mouse pad, to deck of cards, to comic book, to speciality USB with games pre-loaded on it - for a total value of $40. -Your typical Blizzard collector's edition usually costs $80, but never goes above $100. Zone of the Enders HD Collection Limited Edition: -The game itself, for a total of $40 -Soundtrack CD, 100-page art book, and box for $20 -Total is $60 BlazBlue Chronophantasma Limited Box: -The game itself, for a total of $50 -Box to hold it all, a nendoroid figurine, soundtrack CD, 30-page art book, bonus blu-ray, double-sided poster/move chart, for $30. -Total is $80 And that's just the limited edition crap in my current field of vision. To put it bluntly, the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX Collector's Edition is asking you to shell out a whole lot for a whole lot of nothing. The plush and steel book are awesome, and the addition of 1.5 is a nice gesture, but no way in hell does it all together stack $60 on top of the price. The pin is something you already get with every first print copy, and that "art book" is a bad joke. ESPECIALLY if you already have 1.5. Queen Tery 4,591 Posted November 7, 2014 Considering the prices of the individual things, I think it's an alright price. The games would total up to $60 and the price of the plushie is like 40. So it's like you're getting all the other stuff free. But I think it's only worth it if you don't have ANY of the stuff prior to getting the collection. Like if you already have 1.5, just get the other stuff separate.

ESPECIALLY if you already have 1.5.You've already highlighted that the price is subjective. 10 dollars for an art book is a pretty good deal, and that's not counting the packaging, which in and of itself is worth things to people. And again, it's stuff you're not getting anywhere else.It also depends on what we mean by "deal". Are we getting these things at a bargain? Arguably not. Are they trying to oversell us? Also no. There are plenty of other CE's that don't include anything nearly as good for more money. So, when you say it's "worth it", in terms of money, it's a completely fair deal. In terms of whether or not the package applies to you, that will vary by person.
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 7, 2014 I honestly think that the price range is fair, considering the amount of content the Collector's Edition contains. I obviously won't be getting it anytime soon, but I'd like to obtain it one day as a Collector's item! Anyways, my point here being that there's enough content in the Collector's Edition to justify its price! This is literally the ultimate hype device for us Kingdom Hearts fans! I'll be satisfied with my Limited Edition of 2.5, but for those who'll be getting the Collector's Edition, I say, congratulations, and enjoy it to the fullest! *Secretly waits for someone on this site to have the Collector's Edition so I can steal it from them unexpectedly.*

Ultima Spark 753 Posted November 7, 2014 God, what is with Americans whining about prices on everything under the sun? If anything, going by current exchange rates, you guys have some of the most lenient prices in the world! (I live in Australia, which jacks up prices on all imports - especially electronics/technology - by absolutely ridiculous amounts... for context, a brand new console game typically costs somewhere in the AU$90-100 range, or roughly US$85)
BlankShell 638 Posted November 7, 2014 Thread asked a question, I answered. I don't care how you guys spend your money, I'm just letting you know it's an unwise investment.Well, the definition of "investment" means you get out what you put into it, so that part's subjective. From a purely economic standpoint, this CE is completely fair. Perhaps not "good" compared to others, but certainly not "too much". Receiving things for free in some places does not automatically entitle you to receive them for free in others. Not saying everyone needs to buy this thing right now - if it's not for you, it's not for you. But that doesn't make it an unfair deal; getting what you pay for is a good shake in my book. God, what is with Americans whining about prices on everything under the sun? OnyxFlames 2 Posted November 7, 2014 Seems like a fair price to me. Only thing that's making me not buy it (maybe) is KH 1.5 because I already own a copy and don't have a lot of money. but i want it because that plushie is so dang cute!

KH4Real 749 Posted November 7, 2014 Guys just look at ebay they even try to sell it for €150+. It's expensive but you get 2 games... And brand new games cost 60 dollars. Well 1.5 is like €25 new I think. And 2.5 like €35 by game uk.
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted November 8, 2014 Thread asked a question, I answered. I don't care how you guys spend your money, I'm just letting you know it's an unwise investment.Unfortunately that's just your opinion. You saying it's an unwise investment to us doesn't mean it actually is. Infact, the games you mentioned as examples of lower cost are singular very miniscule games. This collection includes 4 huge RPG titles in one package. Not only that but one title includes 3 separate stories which gives 6 experiences in one package and then you have 2 more stories held out in cinematics. That's 8 huge experiences in one package, plus the extra collectibles such as the heartless plush and artbook (mind you that this one is completely different than the one included with the 1.5 LE). In conclusion, the price is extremely fair and well worth the investment.
