How many saiyans do you think are actually left?

Like, the saiyans main job was to send out babies and soldiers to conquer planets. There surely has to be a couple thousand left in that case.

It's hard to say only lower class saiyans were sent to other planets and it is assumed that Frieza either had them killed off or they didn't survive. Goku kinda escaped the radar due to the fact that he landed on earth. Even if they did escape they might have presented such little threat that they were completely wiped from the pages of history.

Well, I believe Toriyama stated that in the manga only four survived Goku, Vegita, Raditz and Nappa, the anime added Turles, Paragus, Broly, and Tarble for a total of 8. Of course this was bafore the events of the manga/anime began. By the end of the nime only Goku, Vegita and Tarble are alive and in the manga it's just Vegita and Goku.

Of course this was bafore the events of the manga/anime began. By the end of the nime only Goku, Vegita and Tarble are alive and in the manga it's just Vegita and Goku.

Actually, there is a manga adaptation of the OVA with Tarble.

I'm pretty sure all of the specials/movies are considered canon.

In the bardock special, It shows multiple pods with saiyan babies that are ready to be taken to other planets, goku was part of those.

I find it hard to believe that a warrior race centered around conquering other planets across the universe would only have a few that weren't on planet Vegeta.

Well, the manga and anime have separate canons, so the movies and GT are only canon to the anime, DragonBall Online, a discontinued MMO on which DragonBall Xenoverse is based only followed the Manga canon so the events of GT never happened. Also some characters like Trunks, Korrin and the Nemakians look closer to the manga incarnations than the anime ones.

Lol we got the Tarble special only a few years ago. It's established that the weak saiyan babies are sent out permanently since they're useless in the eyes of the military, and that saiyans are always being sent out on missions to conquer and that saiyan babies are sent out to conquer as well all the time.

I find it likely that Frieza's forces went on a campaign to destroy all of the saiyan babies save Vegeta & Nappa, whom he felt could be controlled (and useful). He also left Raditz & Goku alive because both of them were seen as useless and weak. Aside from Bardock and his father, I honestly do think that the only remaining Saiyans are those that are shown in the show.

Nah actually none of the movies are canon considering the movies were basically filler and never in the manga at all (except Battle of Gods). Tarble is canon because he was mentioned in BoG. The Bardock story is canon too. 

  So the saiyans alive now are Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, Goten, Tarble, and Pan is soon to be born making her 1/4 saiyan.

Tarble was sent out by his father, the King. It was on King Vegeta's order that he was sent out to Planet Tech-Tech because he wasn't strong enough. It has nothing to do with the Saiyan Army's regulation with babies. Tarble was not even tasked to conquer Tech-Tech either, the King just didn't want him as his son.

 

And again: if any Saiyans were left, we would know.

Well it's not, makes a lot of sense. My best guess is they just don't want other Saiyans out there because then they would need closure.

We don't need to introduce any more surviving Saiyans into the lore, its been done to death.

 

If anything, we need more info. on the Saiyans before Frieza wiped out Planet Vegeta, and maybe like an origin story for the Original Super Saiyan.

I know,it could be a Golden Ape based on Vegeta's depiction,but I could be wrong on so many ways.
