Square Enix Could Learn Something From Sakurai

Recommended Posts

You know, Square Enix could learn a thing or two from Masahiro Sakurai. The people at Square Enix really needs to learn how to be more open with their fans with a CERTAIN game we've all been waiting almost a decade for (if you get my drift). Sakura has been keeping fans hyped about Smash bros Wii U/3DS by sending us a screenshot of the game once a day. As well as giving us new information of every now and than in the form of Nintendo directs and character reveal trailers. Why can't Square Enix do this with Final Fantasy XV A.K.A Versus XIII!? I mean they haven't been doing a good job at keeping fans hyped or interested in the game as years have gone past since its development. They could at least send us a screenshot of the game once per day like Sakurai has done with Smash. That would at least keep the Final Fantasy/Square Enix fans happy and interested in the game. Square needs to do a better job at keeping their fans interested in their games rather than keeping them in the dark for so long with "Please Understand".

why are we just talking Sakurai? you could fill a book.

A LOT OF BOOKS.

with things that square could learn from.

and they have

Because Sakurai is the best example of how a game developer can interact with their fans.

not to mention the fact that other companies have made next gen games like crazy and they are all good. there is no excuse for why this shit is taking so long. no excuse. they are either too bankrupt to get any help or too stupid to use the next gen hardware.

I think Square tries this but their way is not particularly great.  I think Square tries to release titles from the same franchise and hopes that it will keep them interested.  Final Fantasy always has a game coming out, but I don't think Square realizes they need to delve more into those titles so that those games aren't forgotten among all the others.  It seems Tabata is more knowledgeable about keeping hype up since my hype has yet to die from TGS.  I think the FF XV hype will last until release assuming that they don't completely cut the fan base off again after the demo is released.

I don't think developers need to constantly give information like Sakurai did for Smash Wii U/3DS to keep me interested in their games, but yeah FFXV's case a couple screenshots just to let us know the the game is still alive would have been a good thing to keep the hype.I don't know why they did this, but developing the game in secret like they did was a terrible idea.

Super smash bros for the 3ds was announced when the system came out the first time! And didn't get a release date till last year and its a fighting game without any story or changes really made to the game play since brawl.
