AnHeiressofaSOLDIER 358 Posted November 1, 2014 I'd greatly appreciate it if you guys could pray for my dad right now. I just found out that he has fourth stage Colon cancer, and at the worst case scenario, he maybe only has two months to live. This whole thing has been a real shock to my family and me, as we only thought my dad had the flu and nothing even close to this. And now to learn he has cancer, and in such a dire way... it's way too much to handle. But I believe in God and I believe in prayer, as well as the idea of staying positive and keeping your spirits up; my dad is really young still (the youngest of his family of fourteen siblings) and very, very healthy otherwise. If anyone can beat this, I know it'll be him--as he has so much more to live for. Thank you all for your support and what you do. I appreciate all of your prayers and hope greatly, and you're all in my debt. -Shanna 3 MyDixieRect, Alicia Maddox and MythrilMagician reacted to this

Yuya Sakaki 5,212 Posted November 1, 2014 All we can do is put faith in God, as in the end it's all up to Him. Us as humans can only do so much. God willing your father will get better and become triumphant over his cancer. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 1, 2014 I know what it's like to be in this kind of situation...I've had many of my family members being afflicted by cancer. I promise that I'll pray for your father. In God's holy name, he shall be healed, and he shall live to see the rest of his days. It is my greatest hope that your father comes out of this victorious. I'll be sure to have him in my prayers.

But just know that this is all in God's hands now. Nothing happens for no reason. Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you. I know God loves you and your family very much. Only He can guide you through this. I will pray for the miracle of healing and that your dad will recover. Don't give up! All is not lost. If you need someone to talk to, you have friends here. Soravids 1,056 Posted November 1, 2014 I will pray for you. God can heal anything. He loves you and your dad. Just know that if he doesn't know Jesus, you should make sure he does so he can go to heaven. Do you know how to witness to him? If you're not completely sure, I ask you to PM me if you want to so I can help you. If God decides it's his time, he must go. But sometimes God will be willing to grant you extra time with your loved ones.Just know either way, it's for the best. God bless you.

KingdomHearts3 2,591 Posted November 1, 2014 I apologize with all my heart to hear this. I will keep him in my prayers. In fact, here is a prayer you could pray to remain strong: Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion — inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen.

Amen. I know I am very late on this, but I couldn't help but share my thoughts. First of all, let me say that I am very sorry for your father. Regardless of how I feel, and everyone else, the end result stays the same- death. Regardless of what anyone here says, the same outcome will occur. In fact, the same outcome will come upon each and everyone of us, our friends, and our families. We will all one day perish. The key is to accept death as an everyday thing. He will not be around forever. Whether he dies due to cancer in a matter of months, or dies of old age in a matter of years, you must savor your time with him. Spend each moment treating not only him, but everyone around as if it were there last day. Because you never know, death will come upon us when we least expect it. Do not waste your time pondering on his death. Instead think of the pleasant memories, and moments and create new ones to fill your heart will happiness. Don't treat him special because he is near death's door, treat him special because he gave birth to you, treat him special because he is your father. As a famous man once said, "The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone" we as humans often forget the value of ones life, and take if for granted. This, while tragic, can be a wake up call. There is a positive to every negative, a good to every bad. Savor every moment with your family, friends, and everyday people and pray- have faith in the lord. And accept, that if the lord shall claim him, he will be in a better place. If you want to talk with me, please do. I will help, and pray in any way I can. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
