Kittenz 4,281 Posted October 28, 2014 Say what you will, but PlayStation and Xbox are both missing something very important. Jokes aside, I like Nintendo and PlayStation. Xbox doesn't appeal to me, but I'm happy for the Xbox fans who enjoy what they play. I find the supposed "console war" to be absolutely freaking stupid, and can't stand fanboys. You. are. awesome. I love all three and enjoy my xbox games. But I feel like I can't talk about them without being hated on for playing xbox and being called a fanboy even though I also play playstation and nintendo games. FML And then there are those who go and say "YOU PC MASTER RACE FANBOY!" whenever you prefer something on the PC or want a game to be made on the PC. D: Ikr. I love all kinds of gaming PC, XBOX, PS, Nintendo, I don't care because I play them all. But heaven forbid I talk about one and suddenly I'm on a side to them 1 Shulk reacted to this
Sora96 17,256 Posted October 28, 2014 What if the companies just merged together to create the SuperNES3603DSPlayStation? It would be like the 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' of gaming, meaning if you don't have any opinions about the console wars, just say, ' SuperNES3603DSPlayStation'. I guess. Well to be fair Sony did want to work with Nintendo in the '90s.

Tigerruss 576 Posted October 29, 2014 then we'd have what's called a monopoly and the game industry would suck The console industry would suck, but maybe not gaming in general. After all the game developers would still have to compete with each other to make the games that captivate the most users possible.

Not really, they'd be under the thumb of the ONLY console manufacturer, as such they would have to appease them to get their game out there Monopolies hurt everything, in the long run
MythrilMagician 6,963 Posted October 29, 2014 I, personally would have a PC, PlayStation 4, 3DS and Wii U. I find the XBOX rather pointless because the library is extremely similar to PC and PlayStation with very few exceptions like Halo. And that is the only XBOX exclusive I can think of, minus the first two games.

YES all the publishers would have to bow before the mighty console manufacturer to actually license a game there, but EA will still compete against Activision and visa versa. Though what's would really be lacking would be first party games, since they don't have to draw people to the product anymore. And while it is true that first party games are one of the biggest draws to a console, I don't see how this would be detrimental to third party games.
