Kaiso 2,764 Posted July 25, 2010 owo... So, there isn't a book four in Avatar, it's been confirmed that the part of the series with Aang has ended... owo But I found this today... Apparently, they're making a spin-off with a girl named Korra? It's 70 years in the future, and she's from the southern water tribe....she travels to the main city in their world which is very steampunk-like? Seriously.... What? But Meh, it still seems interesting, but I don't think it would be as good as the original series. Your thoughts? Source & Full article: http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2010/07/21/avatar-the-last-airbender-nickelodeon-greenlights-tv-sequel-the-legend-of-korra/ --- I found the official press release. http://biz.viacom.com/sites/nickelodeonpress/Nicktoons/Pages/showpdf.aspx?FileName=Legend%20of%20Korra%20Announcement.pdf&ListName=Press%20Releases&ItemID=70 The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender and follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang
Space Cowboy 1,392 Posted July 25, 2010 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I hope this is fake, I seriously hope this is fake. Avatar was a decent show, no need to ruin it with a spin-off.
Kaiso 2,764 Posted July 25, 2010 It all just seems very weird to me. I would have been happier with just a book four, because there's the whole thing about Zuko finding his mother that they left at a cliffhanger... D8 But hey, they at least have to show the original characters... I mean Aang's son, whose named Tenzin, is apparently in it. o-o;; This would probably flop the moment it's aired.. but meh. I'd have to see a trailer or something. It supposed to come out next year too... so it's not too far away
Rose Riku 39 Posted July 25, 2010 I hate Avatar. So I don't care. 8D
Space Cowboy 1,392 Posted July 25, 2010 Yep, it's official. All of the stuff in that article is true. I agree with you on the Book 4 part, I don't think this series even needed a sequel. It just needed to be ended without cliffhangers ._. So now, I'll have to watch it and look for more references from the original series. *sigh* I hate sequels. Sorage55 10 Posted July 25, 2010 The original will always be the better of any series of course, I am wondering how this spin-off will go.

SummerRain 185 Posted July 26, 2010 i kinda just want to watch it. idk if i might like it, but i should at least give it a chance. i feel bad for Tenzin. It must be pretty awkward to see that your dad is now a girl.

Kaiso 2,764 Posted July 29, 2010 I've never considered it an anime. I've always considered Avatar to be a cartoon, despite how the style of the art/animation may look. Some of the humor makes it out to be more of a cartoon than an anime too, but eh it's all opinions. o-o;;
Stardustblade358 806 Posted July 29, 2010 It could be pretty cool, but I preffer for it to stay in what it stayed. That Aang and Katara lived happily ever after together.Raise hand if you agree.*raises hand*
Kaiso 2,764 Posted July 29, 2010 However, they did live "happily ever after." They even had a child whose appearing as (either by fact or rumor, don't remember) Korra's Air bending tutor, Tenzin. Though, it's only stated that he's Aang's son, you can probably connect the pieces based on how the first series ended.
Think Pink 1,967 Posted July 31, 2010 Nonononononono!!!!! Don't do this to me!!!!! Spinoffs usually ruin a great series, in my opinion.
Protoman 1,974 Posted July 31, 2010 I liked avatar... but I never really got into it because I wasn't really interested at the time. But now I am, lol ._. I unno, I guess I'll give it a chance. If I don't like it then I won't watch it.
AmberRAWRS.OmO 0 Posted July 31, 2010 I luvvers avatar!! owo This looks good too I can't wait to watch. I heard the movie sucked though. =P
Think Pink 1,967 Posted August 1, 2010 Yeah, the movie wasn't all too great. I mean, exactly how many episodes did that cover? They've still got a loooooooooong way to go. There's no way they could end it like THAT!
AmberRAWRS.OmO 0 Posted August 1, 2010 The movie is supposed to cover Book 1. They're making like 4 movies to cover all the books. =P These movies will FAIL though.
Rose Riku 39 Posted August 3, 2010 I just don't like all the little kids. I have nothing against the fans! Lol! I'll just never like it. I tried. D;
JesusFreak 41 Posted August 6, 2010 I Love Avatar...but a sequel? It's probably gonna ruin the show. I would have loved to see Zuko find out about his mother..but this seems...idk. I will probably watch it...but doubt its gonna be good.
aubreyloveskh 16 Posted August 6, 2010 I loved that show, but I think making a spin-off is a bad idea. They probably are going to make it anyways though, especially with the movie and everything. I think it was a bad idea to compact the series into a movie too, even if they only used book one. Anyways, it was a good show but I don't like the idea of a spin-off.
