Silvia Kuroi 1,480 Posted October 18, 2014 NaNoWriMo is known as National November Writing Month, and is a sixteen-year-old challenge to write a 50,000-word novel within the month of November. http://nanowrimo.org/ I like this idea, because it convinces people to take up the pen (or keyboard) and write a novel all on their own. I'm currently signed-up for this challenge, and I'm posting this to let the other writers here on KH13 know about this challenge. You may wonder, why should I do this? Well, beyond the good feelings of having finished a novel, NaNo has several sponsors (Such as CreateSpace) offering free publishing, free books, and discounts with major companies. (Not sure if this belongs in Creative Media, but I posted it here due to it's relation to Creative Writing.) 4 Josuke Higashikata, Dracozombie, Firaga and 1 other reacted to this
Josuke Higashikata 2,141 Posted October 18, 2014 and is a sixteen-year-old challenge Wow, I didn't know that. *Notes to self to check out the site more fully* Anyway, I'm also part of it! But it is a good idea to post this here, in my opinion at least.
Arya Stark 1,337 Posted October 18, 2014 50,000? Yeah, never mind. I'm good. It is cool. Maybe some other time though.
Decimo 243 Posted October 18, 2014 This will be my seventh or eighth year doing Nano, and since I alternate between writing original and fanfic for it, this time around I'm writing a fanfiction. I don't have a full plot yet, though.
Oishii 3,987 Posted October 18, 2014 I like the idea, but November is such a terrible time to do it I always have too much school work, plus all the holidays and birthdays that fall in this month. I wish there was a summer nanowrimo.

Decimo 243 Posted October 18, 2014 I get a weird warning when I try to go to this site. Yes, Google for some reason (certainly a mistake) has it flagged as potentially unsafe, all you need to do it pick whichever option your browser offers you to proceed anyway. 1 Oishii reacted to this

Soul Eater Evans 4,045 Posted October 18, 2014 i'll prob try this in my free time. no guarantee 50000 words, but i'll try.

Having a clear idea of your plot and characters is good. I went into my first Nano with no preparation at all and it didn't take long until getting words out was like pulling teeth, with how much you need to write a day there's no time to stop and plot during November. Firaga 5,947 Posted October 19, 2014 Oh hey, I did this for my senior year of high school. I wrote my own novel.
Dave 5,715 Posted October 19, 2014 I should probably join this. It's likely the motivation that I need. 1 Dracozombie reacted to this

LET'S DO IT The NaNoWriMo has been something I've tried to do for years, but by the time November rolls around I'm like... meh. But hey, original or fanfic, I'd like to actually do it this time around. 1 Dave reacted to this

Dave 5,715 Posted November 2, 2014 So for everyone tackling this, what are you planning on writing? Personally, I'm finally putting together a film studies book I've always wanted to write on James Bond, and how the films have evolved and changed over the course of fifty years, in terms of the character himself, and the portrayal of different subjects such as women, technology, vice, and antagonists. 1 Decimo reacted to this

For me, I'm writing the story behind Silver Kuroi as the character.
Dracozombie 4,554 Posted November 2, 2014 I'm actually doing two, one original and one fanfic. I won't talk about the fanfic one since it's not KH-related, so this site would be the wrong audience for it, but I can copypasta my original idea from my announcement on DeviantART. "Essentially a horror movie from the ghosts' point of view -- and no, not in the Sixth Sense sort of way. I mean if Kayako Saeki was the protagonist, only less... murderous and stuff. The ghosts are duking it out over territory, and they all have their own ideas about how to go about haunting. It's something I've been meaning to do since... like... middle school. Of course it's gone through so many revisions that the only constant is that it's about ghosts and the main character is named Mary, inspired by the Bloody Mary legend (har har), but all the same it's a thing."
