They don't go on and on about how the Wii U saved gaming and is the most successful console in history, either. This is the first time I remember seeing them say that the Wii U is doing well.

It has definitely improved, I wouldn't call it great but to be fair it would have been hard to sell a lot this year with the PS4 breaking sales records like crazy.

Congrats Nintendo. The Wii U has proved to be a worthwhile purchase large in thanks to releases that followed Pikmin 3. I picked up the system early in its life (March 2013) and for that first couple of months I was like, "it's ok Smash and MK8 are coming eventually". I kept telling myself that and yet Smash isn't even out yet and MK8 was great but I haven't played it as much MK Wii. It was other titles like Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country, Nintendoland and the chance to finally experience Earthbound (and other great VC titles) that made the purchase worth it.

 

The worse thing for my wallet is it only gets better from here with titles like Splatoon, Captain Toad, Zelda Wii U and the eventual Metroid. Not to mention whatever else Nintendo has up their sleeves. I understand that on paper the Wii U's sales aren't out of this world amazing but when you have a system capable of delivering you exceptional experiences that you can't get on another system then it really doesn't matter. People are finally noticing the Wii U's potential and it's no more than Nintendo has deserved. They've made mistakes sure but at least they are turning it around as best they can

That's your opinion. I look at the Wii U and the only good game currently available is Mario Kart 8 and for upcoming just Smash Bros. There is zero third-party support. When PlayStation 4 is loaded. Final Fantasy XIV, XV, Type-0 HD, KH3, Uncharted 4, Star Wars Battlefront, Sleeping Dogs, The Last of Us and more. Not to mention unannounced titles like Naughty Dog's secret title, most likely The Last of Us 2, FFXVI, a FFVII project and more.

The only games in that list that are interesting are kh3 and ff15. Everything else sucks.

So Nintendo games don't win game of the year awards or get perfect 10 reviews and sell millions and millions of copies either? Most of the games you listed aren't even out yet and even then TLOU is the only one that can back up your perfect 10 reviews claim.

 

You might look at the list of Wii U games and say Mario Kart 8 is the only worthwhile title but that's because you do not own a Wii U to even experience anything the system has to offer. Therefore you don't even have a valid opinion. I look at the PS4's current line-up and see nothing worth buying the system for, but that doesn't mean I won't in the future for some of the titles you previously mentioned. You say PS4 is loaded, but how many of those games are actually released? Wii U already has a fantastic lineup, with even more great games coming in the future.

 

Also, the only game you mentioned that I really care about is KHIII. However, just because there aren't a lot of PS4 games I care for yet doesn't mean I'll act like the Wii U is the only console this generation that actually matters. You can like more than one console, you know.

Developers and publishers always want to win awards, get great reviews and most importantly sell great. And if you can't sell well you can't make those games.

Yeah, I'm not going to buy a Wii U to play Nintendo games. Lol. Nintendo games have zero appeal to me. I play games like Madden, Uncharted, Final Fantasy etc. Not all the stuff Nintendo has.
