Nomura Discusses Kingdom Hearts in 2015

In a recent interview for a future issue of Famitu Weekly, Nomura discussed the plans for Kingdom Hearts in 2015.
 

 

—Now that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX has been released, is all your focus on Kingdom Hearts III?

Nomura: You would think that, wouldn't you? *wry laughter* There is actually something else as well to come in the future.

—We see. Is it Kingdom Hearts related?

Nomura: You could say that. You could also say it's related to our other titles. We did promise a new title for Kingdom Hearts every year, did we not?

—It seems you did! Is there anything more you can tell us involving the mystery title?

Nomura: Dear fans of Kingdom Hearts, it's a great honor to reveal to you today that we are working on a new title in the series, with a working title of Kingdom Hearts II-2 Volume One - Lightning Edition. We are very excited, as there are plans for a future title to be conjoined with this.

—Wow! This is quite the news flash! Is there anything you can confirm with us here?

Nomura: I do have many projects other than KH3 and KHII-2-LE. For some reason in this timing I have received many offers from both inside and outside the company, and I will be responding to those first. There are things that were given to me individually, and there are many things related to games, things outside games, and things that are yet to be announced. While I have been given those jobs, I do intend to keep moving my own projects forward.

Woah, you found the early BETA image that was leaked awhile back! These graphics pale in comparison to the new, updated ones! I'll see if I can find the image that came with the interview.

Well Kingdom II-2 volume one Lighting edition is not too much of a stretch compare to titles Final Fantasy X-2 Final Fantasy Versus XIII,Lighting Returns Final Fantasy XIII or Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. I wouldn't be surprised at this point if SQUARE themselves make a game with a title like that.

As soon as I read "lightning edition" I thought... I am in the random section...aren't I?I shouldn't have been confused for even a second....after all I rarely venture out of the random section anymore.
