Shulk 8,623 Posted October 11, 2014 If you were to rate the KH games from worst to best, how would you do it? Mine would be: 7: Days (Only one I can really say that I didn't like. It was just too boring, and it ruined its potential to let us know about all of the Organization by only focusing on Roxas, Axel, and a new character who wasn't really necessary in the first place). 6: Re:Coded (I like this one a lot, but I still prefer the rest) 5: Birth by Sleep (It was a lot of fun, but it was repetitive going through each story, and it was pathetically easy even on Critical) 4: CoM/Re:CoM (I like how it was a unique combat system, and watching Sora and Riku progress through Castle Oblivion was really interesting) 3: Dream Drop Distance (The gameplay was a lot of fun, even though the story became frustrating towards the end. I liked Riku's story, though) 2: Kingdom Hearts II (A fantastic game, but I wasn't a fan of the change to a super flashy combat system. It's still fairly close to KHI to me, though) 1.5: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix (It's the only Final Mix I've played, and while it was fantastic, it honestly just didn't feel as good as the original. It feels like they tried to add in too much padding to make it a longer experience, and that padding just made it more frustrating) 1: Kingdom Hearts (My favorite game in the series, and probably my favorite game of all time. I love everything about it) 4 FerroAxel7, Demyx., Ultima Weapon and 1 other reacted to this
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) 7. Kingdom Hearts: Coded (Fun game, but too familiar. And the datascape levels are so annoying.) 6. Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (Gameplay is fun once you get the hang of it, the story is interesting, but overall it's not as good as the others.) 5. Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days (Fun game, interesting story, explains some things we didn't know.) 4. Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (Great story, great characters, but I'm not a huge fan of the Deck Command system and the D-Link system just felt like Summons-lite.) 3. Kingdom Hearts (Great, great, GREAT game. If the other two games didn't exist, this would still make it as one of my favorite games of all time.) 2. Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance (They improve on BBS's system a little bit and the 'clashing of worlds' thing with all of the games' characters coming together makes this title very, very enjoyable) 1. Kingdom Hearts II (The definitive KH game, at least until KHIII comes out. I love Drive Forms and the introduction of live-action worlds makes this the best in the series. I think the flashier combat system simply adds to the series and shows the growth Sora has made. It's also the first game in the series to make me legitimately feel like a badass, as opposed to KHI where I felt like I could be stronger, but wasn't quite there yet. Also, the slight lack of default faces is always a plus.) Demyx. 10,064 Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) Before you read. Please realize. I really enjoy fun gameplay. But story helps as well....A bit. 7: 358/2 Days (Just...Ugh. firetruck this game. Screw the gameplay. Screw the story.) 6: KH1 (It has probably the best story. Gameplay is a bit slow compared to the others though. But I do reall love the game. I love all the games from here down. But firetruck the game on top....) 5: Chain of Memories (It has a unqiue style of gameplay. It's really fun. Plus the story helps I suppose.) 4: Re coded (It's just super fun. That's all I need. Like REEEAAALLLY FUN) 3: Dream Drop Distance (This game is crazy fun. I actually dont have proplems with the story. I like time travel and I never got confused) 2: Birth by Sleep (I really enjoyed this a lot. I loved melding. I love most things about the game. The story was very good as well. Only thing I don't like about it is Vanitas. firetruck that guy. 1: KH2 (FUN AS FUUUUUUUUUCK! A great story. Plus it introduced Demyx. I love this game.) Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted October 11, 2014 7. KH II.:It was okay...and...eh..just something about it irks me. 8. KH BBS: Very cinematic, and really gets to you. So I hated a lot of it. 7. KH Re:Coded: Only thing I liked was the Wonderland part, with the hedge maze area. 6. KH DDD: While I liked the new worlds, and the Fantasia part most of all, I hated the drop system: it never failed you'd drop in the middle of a boss fight. 5: KH: Chain of Memories: I was okay with the card deck system, but the rehash of the same worlds over and over was annoying. 4. KH: 1.5: I remain a little unimpressed. The final mix stuff wasn't the selling point to me, and the DAYS movie was flawed beyond belief in the fact it's only cutscenes. 3: KH: DAYS: I love this game more than a lot of KH games, but the bosses are a pain in the ass, and it gets tedious 2: KH1: It was great, but has its own flaws. Still a fantastic game. 1. KH:re: Com: I liked this one better, if for the rehash: the rooms look good, and the added jumping and stuff is great. Moni_22 335 Posted October 11, 2014 I can't say what are the worst in my opinion... I don't like being that mean. But I do know my favs: 1. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Cool story elements, some mystery in between, best gameplay, I love the Dream Eaters too and the final part was shocking and really interesting. Extra plus: TWEWY characters and old Organization members coming back 2. Kingdom Heats Birth by Sleep: Again, I love the gameplay, having three different characters was fun too. A lot of mysteries solved about Xehanort and other things, it was really interesting when it came out. Also, Lea, Isa and the other members when they were young and good people, it was awesome. Extra plus: VANITAS 3. Kingdom Hearts 2: A little slow at the beginning, but really good story. Fun gameplay, though a little simple compare to the two above. Really like the music, epic final boss and beautiful ending. 2 Kello and teatimed reacted to this
Kello 310 Posted October 11, 2014 7: Kingdom Hearts. This game is just too oppressive. 6: Kingdom Hearts Re:COM. I liked COM, but I like others more 5: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Loved the story, gameplay was cool. (Ruler of the Sky wasn't cool T__T ) 4: Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded. Gameplay and mechanics were awesome! And I liked the same old worlds 3: Kingdom Hearts DDD. Awesome game! Story became 9000 times awesomer! 2: Kingdom Hearts II. Saddish, beautiful, challenging (Level 1 No Damage Critical Mode -run) and I really love beating Organization XIII 1: Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep *No words needed*
AuraAce 1,126 Posted October 12, 2014 7. Re: Coded (Platforming is as bad in this as it is KH1. Story is weak to say the least, however I will admit 2.5 did the story justice, the gameplay I will also admit is intuitive.) 6. Days (Like Re: Coded but better platforming, better story and better graphics.) 5. KH1 (As a start, it's okay I guess but we all love the platforming in this game I think we can agree.) 4. Dream Drop Distance (Very intuitive gameplay, amazing graphics, some of my favorite music in the series) 3. Re: Chain of Memories (I absolutely LOVED the unique spin they put on this game with the card battle system, it added an authentic and legit challenge to an otherwise easy game series) 2. Birth By Sleep (Amazing story, it started the commands trend, i'm emotionally attached to this as it was the first KH I beat on Critical mode) 1. KH2 (Graphics, music, gameplay, story, all Simple and Clean.)
Isaix 924 Posted October 12, 2014 I didnt play 3D yet but here is my order so far 1.Kingdom Hearts 2 2.Birth By sleep (I pretty much like BBS and KH2 equally except for the fact that BBS felt a bit repetitive because of the mutliple playable characters) 3.Kingdom Hearts 1 (Awesome game, but not quite as good as BBS and KH2) 4.358/2 Days (I like it,but I admit that the game can be boring at time) 5.Re COM (Its ok I guess, but very tedious to go though,I might never replay that game again) 6.ReCoded (I dont like this game)
JTD95 1,107 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) 1. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix Kingdom Hearts is my all time favorite in the series, and the Final Mix is just an updated and even better version of it. It's where everything started. The main reason it wins is because of nostalgia but it also had a lot neat elements that the rest of the series still lack. 2. Re: Chain of Memories Really fun and different gameplay. It has a great story and some of the best writing in the series so far. Playing as Riku was fun too but his story had so much wasted potential. Instead of going through all the same worlds as Sora and fighting the same bosses we could have explored Riku's story from KH1. 3. Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix The original was lacking but the Final Mix made up for that by miles. A lot of great fun. 4. Dream Drop Distance Too short and each world story felt awkward. Really fun gameplay. Not to fond of the Dream Eaters either. Couldn't we just have the Heartless? Been a while since we saw them properly. 5. Birth by Sleep Final Mix Eh, fun but repetitive. 6. Re:coded Fun gameplay. That's it. It was a fun play so it beats Days but goddamn does this game frustrate me. The overall story could be told in a few cutscenes. And the whole game is basically just another repetitive of KH1! First you play KH1, yay! Then at the end of KH1 you go through all the worlds again at the End of the World, ok. Then you go through all the worlds from KH1 again in Re:Com, okey... different set up, different overall story and understandable. Then you go through all the worlds again with Riku. Okey why? Then we get Coded where you go through half of all the worlds of KH1. Then later on you go through all the worlds you just went through again but this time inside the Datascape. Then you through half of all the worlds from CoM. And what are half the worlds from CoM? They're half the worlds from KH1! GOD F*CKEN DAMMIT! I love KH1 but could we move on!? Or have some new and different areas and with other characters from the movies!? Dammit! So much wasted potential. Also, there have been so many creative designs throughout the KH-series, but the Datascape is one of the most boring places I've seen. I could go on and on about why I hate this game but eh, let's stop here. 7. 358/2 Days Decent story, boring gameplay and a lot of wasted potential in terms of the Organization. Also the world selection; if we could visit some worlds that weren't in KH1 and if so have there be different areas that would be great. Aqua7KH 5,395 Posted October 12, 2014 Re:Codded- it was one of those games I wouldn't remember, and I was rather meh trying to get through it. Re:Chain: playing the game felt like a chore. The card system in my opinion is terrible for me. Days: I love this game for the story, but if it wasn't for the fact that this game was on the DS and the graphics and gameplay wasn't bad I wouldve enjoyed this game much more. I wish it was on the ps2 or at least playable in 1.5 remix. DDD: (omg Aqua7KH how could you) I didn't really enjoy this game in terms of story because it just didn't feel like KH to me. Going through the worlds felt like a chore, and I dunno I feel like the game strayed away from the KH feel. KH1: It's so hard but the story is great and it's what started it all! KH2: The gameplay is so much fun and the new worlds were great! Also I love how long it is and the fact that you visit all the worlds twice. And Roxas is like amazing~ BBS: do I really need to say anything? Story is the best and the new characters are priceless! The enemies are refreshing and the new worlds are perfect. It did what DDD didn't; it took the KH series through a new route without loosing the KH feel. And so I need to say why else I love BBS? iEatKittens 26 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) 7. Days - I really don't care for Days at all. I disliked the panel system, how the magic worked, how it made Roxas such a whiny character, how it introduced Xion, how it ruined the chance for more information on the organization, and the repetitiveness of the missions. I just don't like this game.6. DDD - Uses the command system again and still has opness of it. Balloon is so broken. I enjoyed playing this more than BBS, but the story just makes me so mad that I just can't forgive it. It's terrible, with almost nothing happening towards the beginning and bunch of time travel and other wacky hijinks towards the end. Also Spellican. I hate Spellican.5. Re: Coded - Fixed the issues of the command system and made it so you could only get the ridiculously strong commands towards the end. I didn't like some of the mechanics of the levels, and there's barely any story there whatsoever. Also the platforming and bug block stuff in Hollow Bastion just made me sad because I had such a difficult time with it, though that's more of a fault with me rather than the game.4. BBS - Dodge roll to win gets really boring and hurts my fingers. It adds a false challenge by abusing the downsides of the game mechanics. You don't really use the keyblade to attack and rely on commands. Terra's an idiot. Some of the story was questionable, but I liked it nonetheless. 3. KH2 - Started the downfall and retconning that the series is notorious for. The gameplay is pretty fun though and arguably the best in the series. I adore the drive system and the bosses in the game are memorable. 2. Re: CoM - I used to dislike this game for the deck system because I'm not the best with it, but once I started actually making my decks efficient, I had a lot of fun with it. Also I think CoM has one of the better stories in the series. 1. KH1 - Probably up here 'cause I'm blinded by nostalgia, but this is still my favorite in the series. It may have the generic "Save the damsel in distress and the world" story, but I find it charming and cute in a way, and not a slap in the face like some of the games' stories. It also has a good balance between Disney and final fantasy, unlike some of the other games in the series where it's only Disney. While the gameplay can be difficult sometimes with Sora whiffing occasionally and the overlapping of moves, I still had the most fun with this game than the others. Ultima Weapon 71 Posted October 12, 2014 If you were to rate the KH games from worst to best, how would you do it? I love everything about it) I agree completely with your list  and I also consider kh1 my favorite game of all time. 2 iEatKittens and Shulk reacted to this
Dave 5,715 Posted October 12, 2014 7. Birth By Sleep. It made me angry. 6. Dream Drop Distance. It also made me angry. 5. Chain of Memories. I really liked the story, but because I was playing it wrong (I didn't really take the time to learn the card system), I don't have as many memories of it being fun to play. I'd actually like to pick it up again. 4. 358/2 Days. I applaud the game for trying something different. Also, I like that it has a self-contained story: some people criticize it for not adding anything to the greater plot, but that's exactly why I like it. 3. re:Coded. A game that has a lot going for it, in spite of common complaints. 2. Kingdom Hearts 2: A fun game with plenty of good story moments. 1. Kingdom Hearts. Ultimus Grid 546 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) 7. KH Days: I liked playing the game, but with scenes of ice cream eating at a clock tower being a large majority of the game, not showing what the other members of Organization 13 are doing in their free time, and a panel system that was more complicated and confusing for me, I'm not too overly fond of it. 6. KH ReCoM: There were times when it was fun, and times that were frustrating. I'm not a fan of the level up system in this game. Having exp as items you have to run after does not feel right to me, especially since they fade away after x amount of seconds, even when you're still fighting enemies. Maybe it's not too big of a deal, but I don't like that it takes you three attack cards to deliver three hits while some bosses deal 2 to 8 hits with just one card. 5. KH Recoded: This was fun. I personally enjoyed the side scrolling and turn-based segments (although the turn one was just one world) for making things a little different. The data and computer related qualities were cool. I like to think of the story as another version to KH 1's. 4. KH Dream Drop Distance: I find the gameplay kind of nice. Flowmotion was fast-paced and exciting. Had some very enjoyable bosses and songs. 3. KH 1: A great and cool game in general. There's nothing I don't like about it. 2. KH BBS: Awesome game, story, characters, and themes. Each playable character had unique play styles, commands, bosses, and themes. It was nice watching each of their perspectives in the story and worlds. I love the command system, making commands, and acquiring some abilities. 1. KH 2: Overall personal best and favorite of the series. It's a spectacular game that has the best of everything. The reaction commands were a nice addition and adore the drive forms (especially final form). It has most of my favorite boss fights, themes, worlds, Disney movies, and moments in the series. TheKingdomkid 1,194 Posted October 12, 2014 7.Days: Just because all it was was kill heartless, ice cream for like over 100 days with a little story and then all of a sudden it was drama within the main three group of Roxas Xion and Axel but then it got back to kill heartless, ice cream, until the bomb dropped about Xion being a replica then we actually had some decent story. And while we are on the topic of Xion I feel like this game was just a waste because they made Xion for the sole purpose of Roxas leaving the Organization (and of course them lying to him of course but that was all because of Xion as well) don't get me wrong I don't think Xion is a bad character as well I just feel like she didn't really have a point to being made or crated or whatever because everyone just forgot about her anyway and I honestly so far don't see how she can be brought back, (Unless by somehow someway Xemnas remembers who she is and if that's the case I am gonna call horse shit because that will just be ridicules but whatever another rant for another time) 6. Re:coded: I guess nothing really bad with it game play wise but the story with what little there was wasn't all the best out of the remaining games. I like this game don't get me wrong it was my favorite on the DS just this game had the weakest (next to Days) story of them all. 5. Dream Drop Distance: I have to say this game was good both game play and story wise but the whole time travel thing just threw my brain into a meat grinder and spit it out spelling WTF again nothing that wrong with it just that whole thing about time travel. 4. Chain of Memories/Re:CoM: I loved this game both the original and the remake of it a lot of people complain about the battle system but I love it, would I like to see it return in another KH game, possible but only if it fits, story wasn't probably the greatest but I did love it because it introduced us to the main antagonist group of the whole series have to give it points for that. 3. Kingdom Hearts 2: Now to start this one off this game had my most favorite game play out of the whole series the reaction commands was great to all the abilities you get as well and don't get me wrong the story was great as well especially that ending but still not the best in my opinion but still it was a fantastic game. 2. Birth by Sleep: Game Play was great and fun the characters I loved them but the story I have to say wasn't the strongest because you had to play it three times, not that I'm complaining that much about it each of the characters had their own story in each world and it fit really well with each of them I just wish it was done differently. 1. Kingdom Hearts: Now I have said this many many times but the original will always be my favorite game out of the whole series. It introduced us to all the lovely characters we know and love to the main Hero Sora to the name of Ansem whose name is very important through the whole series. The game play was alright not the best out of the series but I would say this one had the strongest story out of all of them because it just tossed this ordinary boy out into this crazy adventure and he even said so himself he didn't as for it but he will do everything to make things right for the worlds and make sure darkness doesn't win. Gamerazor247 877 Posted October 12, 2014 9. X - It's... Not in the great ol' 'Murica yet 8. Kingdom Hearts Coded - Nothing special, but at least we had a KH game that had good gameplay for the DS. 7. Kingdom Hearts : Chain of Memories - Just imagine if we all liked the Card combat and they kept it for a second. Screaming in horror, not suprised. Anyway I found it cool for a new load of antagonist to be introduced in this game so that was great. And then we got to play as Riku which was great too, but I really need to get back on the card system... It's certainly stupid but it fit the GBA, not consoles though. And the same worlds was painful too. But we always have Dark Mode Riku 6. Kingdom Hearts 358 Days divided by 2 - Roxas is awesome, Axel is awesome, Sea salt taste like crap and this game introduced multiplayer. Oh yeah and this game was very emotional :'< 5. Kingdom Hearts - It's the original, the legend, the classic, King(Dom), its AWESOME. Nothing more to it. 4. Kingdom Hearts : Birth By Sleep - A new cast of characters for the second year in a row was nice. It had a good story, likable characters, cool key blades, and the great Command Deck that made you feel badass as SHET. The only poor part were the worlds... Though I never really mind sense like a majority of the worlds were about the princesses and BBS was a prequel so it was a perfect setup. 3. Kingdom Hearts THREE! d [Dream Drop Distance) - I favor the gameplay in this one. Adding the flow motion allowed you to go to areas that you couldn't in any regular KH game. You could travel a lot more faster and it was fun period. I enjoyed fighting alongside and peting the dream eaters which surprised me sense I expected I would just ignore them throughout the game. And with the Command deck, I just felt SOOOOO OP. Than there's te TWEWY cast wing in there, that was a nice change from the FF characters though I wished we seen them more. Finally the keyboards were a bit over the top but still cool 2. Kingdom Hearts II - Everything was great, Soundtrack, gameplay (Those drive forms were badass but I hated that they made Fire a swirly thing instead of like a bullet), surprisingly fun Gummi Ship sequences, Epic bosses, improved combat, more worlds, andddddddd Roxas. Heck I even stared at the cover in awe realizing that they hid Riku and DiZ/Da "real" AnZem 1. Kingdom Hearts III Because it just is.
