FerroAxel7 237 Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) I was satisfied with BoG, as well as disappointed. I'm a HUGE fan of Dragonball Z and I saw the film in theaters; also picked it up on blu ray just recently. I loved seeing my childhood icons in a movie again. Seeing the bickering between Bulma and Krillin had be cracking up. Hercule and Gohan were also hilarious. Goku was even funnier than usual. Throughout the movie I was laughing and in my heart I knew the gang was back and I was overjoyed. Then there's the other side of the spectrum... When Vegeta got up on stage and danced like a fool, I cringed, and slumped in my seat at the theaters. Vegeta the cold blooded warrior, ruthless and stubborn, was reduced to making a complete idiot of himself to quell the god's rage. This isn't the Vegeta I know. We all know he isn't an evil killer anymore, but let's face it, he never really stopped being hot headed and proud. Beerus knew it was hard for Vegeta to do, but I really don't think he would've done this at all. He even fought Broly when he knew he didn't have a chance, not put on a show for him. They just butchered all those years of character development. Did he redeem himself after bashing Beerus for hitting Bulma? Almost. The dancing still haunts my dreams... Also there was little to no fighting, except for the final battle which was pretty epic. When Goku punched through King Kai's planet or launched the Kamehameha wave, I literally cheered. Overall I gave the film a 7/10. Funny, lighthearted film, yet lacked the epic battles and feeling of threat throughout. If there's any DBZ fans out there that saw the film, what was your rating of the film and why? P.S the original villains from DB were POINTLESS in the movie. Firaga 5,947 Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) You took that dancing waaaaay too seriously, dude. It doesn't butcher his character at all. I'd even dare to say it makes him a better character. Why? Because even the Prince of Saiyans cares enough about his friends and family to keep a purple cat god to do a dance to quell his rage. Also, the whole "lack of threat" thing doesn't go past me at all. Look at Beerus. He will f*ck your shit. So he's not trying to take over the world. Doesn't make him any less of a badass when he goes RAAAAAGE MOOODE. You know what I'm talking about. He's not really a "villain" it's his job to keep order in the universe. There seemed to be no threat compared to the likes of Frieza or Cell. SPOILER!!!!!!! And in the end he looked like one of the good guys and actually had respect for Goku.

We got another movie coming 2015, and who knows, Beerus and maybe some more of the God characters might show up again. 1 Reyn reacted to this

I'm just saying compared to other sagas in the series that included death and suffering, this was considered pudding (I know you like that pun). Not saying that's a bad thing. It was really great to see everyone in a movie and I laughed my head off a lot.

But really, DragonBall can only be serious for, like, five minutes at a time. The only time it really gets serious is near the end of each saga. Other than that, it's pretty much all tame material. Btw, I hope you realize that DragonBall in it of itself is a very light-hearted series in general despite what other people may tell you, and you're not one of those people who thinks DragonBall needs to be seen as "mature" or "super dark" or anything like that. I'm not one of those people. But in the title, "Z" is mentioned which isn't as light as the original Dragon Ball. Then again, they did include the main villains from Dragon Ball. It really confuses me.

Its also, in a way, a big middle finger to GT by making fun of the "turning characters into kids" trope. Ha ha... freaking GT...
