Hey guys! Since I am already getting bored with Super Smash Bros since I want to play with people I know, I decided to actually push for the idea of a tournament.

It'll be similar to my old Pokémon tournaments if I make it. Remember, I don't need to make it, if someone else wants to make it I will support you to make it!

So whaddya say, would you like to see a SSB4 tournament on this site or not? Please answer the polls above! Any recommendations will be great! I want the community to enjoy it, so please if you have any great ideas please let me know.

Also know I can be able to make the tournament anytime (as long as I am not busy which is rare or in school which is obviously mandatory).

My Thursday is a half day in school and Friday I get out really early so I can definitely make the thread before the weekend so don't feel like you want to give me time since it takes like an hour to make these tournaments and its not difficult at all.

-------------------------------------

What would the Tournament be?

The Super Smash Bros 4 tournament will be 1 v. 1 v. 1 v. 1 tournament. I am not completely sure if my brackets can work to make it easier to know who is against who with this format, but hopefully it does.

How many people would you need?

16 would be okay but despite it being a large number, I think its too small for SSB4. Remember its 1 v. 1 v. 1 v. 1, so only one person can get out of that part of the bracket. That means...

Round One: 16 People (1 v. 1 v. 1 v. 1)

Round Two: 4 People (1 v. 1)

Round Three: 2 People (1 v. 1)

Doesn't seem a lot now right? I would still start out the tournament with this, since I don't want to start with 32 especially since I doubt that many people would not only play SSB4 but also be able to participate in the tournament.

Would it be difficult to make sure everyone battles?

Yeah it would. As the Pokémon Tournaments went on and on, less and less people actually did their part. Now its 4 people I need to make sure fight, which like takes out so much of the fun. Yeah I would have to eliminate that person after 10 minutes of waiting but thats like so lame. Time Zones suck too. So if you're going to join, let me know at least when you are going to be busy, even if its a last minute task you need to do. It'll make things easier for everyone. I get it if you're busy, but at least let me know beforehand or at the moment or try to find time. Since its not just me you're messing with, its 3 other people.

I'd do it, though I think it would be best to just do 1v1's. It makes it a lot more competitive, plus if someone has a recording 3ds they could kill themselves at the start of each match so it can be livestreamed. It definitely can't be this saturday for me as I'll be at comic con. Weekends would also be preferable

Yay! Lmao since you've been in like almost all of my tournaments, any recommendations you want me to include in this tournament?

1Make the matches 1 Vs 1 as it's easier and faster to set up a competitive match between two people and it would guarantee a stable connection and less lag

2Stage choice should be randomized even if it's in Final Destination forms

3I'm not sure about the third point regarding custom moves, should they be used or banned?

1) Like I told darkerturbo, I'll only consider that depending on amount of people that join. But that is true, connection and lag could be a problem but it is usually a problem anyways between two people (it lags when me and my brother plays sometimes, we are like 2 feet away but it worked perfectly fine when I was playing against strangers). I'll have anyone with the strongest connection make the friend room.

2) Mhmm I agree. Good suggestion.

3) Banned for now. It wont be fair for those who don't have custom moves. I'll probably add them in the future.

True, which is why we are playing on Omega stages and not normal ones (as much as it can be fun, wanna make it fair). 1 v. 1 will only really depend on how many join. If like 8 join, I'll be forced to do that if the tournament has high demand.

Also remember even if I create the tournament on the weekends, it wont start that day. I'll give 5 days by the very least for people to sign up and get their schedule in order. So you will have more than enough time to sign up.

I'll gladly join in on this tournament.

I was thinking about starting one, actually. xD I'd be all for it.

Also, a few suggestions for rules:

1v1 matches would work best. The game can really lag a lot if you have 4 people in one match, so it's best to just keep it to two per battle.

Also, this is more of a personal preference, but I think all items except maybe the Smash Ball should be turned off. I'm not one of the Melee fanboys who hates items, I really like them, but I feel like they drop WAY too often in this one.

Just my personal ideas, they don't have to be that way. I'd still join a tournament either way.

I would only be interested if we used a moving stage with all items on, with four players. Because I'm not a wimp.

And if I had a copy of the game.

I would too. I think first round should be all out, and then the 2nd and 3rd round should be no items?

I'm having a lot of issues getting wifi friend matches to work, but I'd be down for a tournament, though I probably can't be in the first one until I get these issues figured out.

I got some errors yesterday and it just fixed itself, so I guess its spontaneous.

I'm all for it. Although if the tournament does involve 4x4 matches, I think that the first and second place winners in each match should progress forward, but that's just me.

That'll be a bit too complicated.

------------------

So we basically have 8 people who will join, and the other 8 who will do both. That's 16 so I'm really hoping you guys join since this is actually going to happen!

BUT I need help.

How do you exactly put your replays online for everyone to see? Like do we need to record it and how is that even possible?

Like people on the Smash Bros subreddit are having all these video-gifs up from gfycat but like does anyone have a clue or do we need to rely on livestreaming?

I'm all for it. I'd probably join too, but it all depends on my free time and if I've got internet. I'd have to use my library's connection at the least and that's if I can make it to the library in the morning's before I work.

I believe you just save the replay from the online match and it actually goes up to the replay channel online. I've not tried it myself.

The gifs are probably from someone's stream or they popped their SD card in the computer and uploaded their gameplay from there.
