Shulk 8,623 Posted September 25, 2014 This could take a while. KHI- My favorite game ever. I love the gameplay, I love the story, I just love all of it. Everyone here knows the game, so I won't go into detail. The World Ends With You- I love the fast pace of the game, and the gameplay is freaking awesome. It's right behind KHI in my opinion. Pokemon Silver- My favorite game in my favorite series. It had a ton of content, some awesome Pokemon, and even today I don't get bored of it. Final Fantasy VI- My favorite SNES game. The gameplay's really intuitive, the characters are great, and the story's really well written. I'd take this over anything after FFVII any day. Xenoblade Chronicles- An amazing Wii game that really deserves a wider audience. I love the gameplay in this one, and the characters are all really fun. I think everyone knows I love this game already. EarthBound- Another fantastic SNES RPG with a great, simple combat system, and really funny humor. This game also really deserves a wider audience. Chrono Trigger- In case you couldn't tell, I freaking love SNES RPGs. I love how this game used time travel, and the combat system is one of the best I've ever seen. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness- A really underrated DS game. It's a lot of fun, and the story's excellent. Dragon Quest IX- A great DS RPG that goes to the basics of the genre. One of the best DS games I've ever played. Also, while this list is outdated, this has a few others I didn't mention, and had more details on ones I did include: http://kh13.com/forum/topic/65757-top-10-rpgs/?hl=%2Btop+%2B10+%2Brpgs 5 Sorual, Demyx., Tails and 2 others reacted to this

Dave 5,715 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Assuming that Kingdom Hearts goes without saying... Final Fantasy VI. It has the best told story, and probably the best gameplay mechanics out of the FF titles. I mostly like how the Esper system means that you can make every character in your party useful; even if you never look twice at Setzer for fighting, you can at least make him spam Cure. On that note, I also really liked how each character has their own unique build that can influence how they participate in the party, which adds a lot of strategy to building your optimum team. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. This is probably the first epic comedy I've ever seen, and it's still funny to this day. The writing makes you laugh as you progress with memorable characters and encounters, and the odd time when it throws you a truly emotional curveball really hits the mark (Bobbery ;_; ). The gameplay itself is simple, but effective, mixing in turn based strategy with timing on the part of the player that keeps you constantly engaged in the battles. Also, the level design is something to be adored. Golden Sun: The best part about this game is that it finally answers the age old question of "Why don't they use their powers outside of battles?" You get to use psynergy to engage with the environment around you, and the addition of puzzle solving as a core mechanic really helped Golden Sun stand out from a lot of other turn based RPGs. Dark Souls (1 and 2): Honestly, what I love most about this game is the options for character creation, from what kind of style you want to use while fighting to the sheer amount of armor and clothing that you can find and use to make it a truly unique experience for you and you alone. Which is kind of what makes the game great: the mentality that this is YOUR character that is dying over and over and over again, making you more attached to them and their struggle. So when they finally beat that one nagging boss that has been kicking your ass, you feel like it's an accomplishment that is YOURS, and you can rejoice in the victory on a personal level, because you hate these enemies as much as the character does. I also really love the style of storytelling that the games adopt: both times, you appear in a kingdom that's essentially already dead, and you have to put the pieces together on your own to figure out what has happened, and what is going to happen, giving everything an air of mystery waiting to be solved. Even then, it never really gives you all the answers, which means you have to fill in the blanks yourself, which is something I actually enjoyed quite a lot. zanarkand_daydreams 23 Posted September 25, 2014 Kingdom Hearts, absolutely Final Fantasy X The first FF game that I played all the way through, now twice because of the beautiful HD version.. That game has one of the most imaginative and amazing storylines ever and it's very sad going through it again and getting everything you didn't understand as a child Chrono Trigger This is one of my favourite games ever made. I've played through it 7+ times and it's just.. fantastic. (hey other CT fans out there.. I was talking about this with someone the other day... how cool would it be to have an HD remake of this game??) Secret of Mana I grew up with this game, but it was so hard for me as a kid and I couldn't get anywhere in the game until a few years ago when I played through it. Which was amazing. There are so many more games but I don't want to fill the screen with them but anyways yeah

Setrex 1,031 Posted September 27, 2014 Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy XII, Earthbound, Xenoblade Chronicles, Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, The Last Story, Fire Emblem (GBA), Fire Emblem Awakening, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn They are the only ones I can think of right now from Japanese games any ways.. Dragon Age: Origins, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, World of Warcraft. -- These are the western RPGs that I can think of off the top of my head. I've excluded games like Pokemon and Kingdom Hearts but for the sake of just listing them, Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver and Kingdom Hearts II are my favourites in those series. sorry for the bolding of some games, they aren't me saying "wow these are the best", it's just an easier on the eyes format I was trying for eyesight reasons. 1 Jilly Shears reacted to this

Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted October 1, 2014 ( In order of usage and times played ) MYST: pretty much a big RPG/Exploration, with puzzles and clues to a bigger mystery. FABLE II: Improving on Fable's bugs, and bigger than Fable's III constricted play area. Also lots of epic battles. Evil Dead: Regeneration: Two words: Chainsaw arm. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days: Everyone knows this one Final Fantasy: Crisis Core: That ending...
