R.I.P. Wii U eShop

Recommended Posts

if it makes money, they'll sell it.

sad really :/

It definitely is sad. It was funny to laugh at the first poorly developed, rushed indie game on the eShop, but now it's just getting ridiculous.

I get a feeling you just read the title, and decided to jump on the chance to bash the Wii U like you tend to do. :/

Actually I didn't. I read it, and agree it's a stupid thing to put on the eShop. Something like that is usually on Steam, Apple App Store, Google Play Store etc.

I really want to see Nintendo sort out it's Virtual Console stuff. They should have SNES, GBA and DS games on the 3DS' eShop and 64, GameCube and even Wii games on the Wii U's.

Steam's library is actually very good. There are a few bad games mixed in, but it's not ridden with cheap cash-ins like the App Store or the Play Store.

They'll likely put GBA on the 3DS eShop soon, and N64 games will definitely come to the Wii U. Either way, N64 games can be downloaded and played through the Wii menu on the Wii U, so the only change would be Gamepad and Miiverse compatibility with the games. Gamecube will likely follow shortly after the Gamecube controller adapter is released, since a lot of people would be more willing to play Gamecube games if they could use the actual controller. However, DS won't come to 3DS, and Wii won't come to Wii U. Backwards compatibility completely negates any reason to have to include those games in digital format on the eShop. SNES on the 3DS would be a welcome addition, but I don't see it happening.

I can't imagine this game on wii u eshop. It just doesn't seem right.

I can't either, but it's not the only horrible eShop game out there. A freaking Flappy Bird clone went up a few weeks ago for $1.

That's kinda tragic, I mean the New 3DS should be able to emulate all 64 games and some GameCube you'd think.

I'd play it if it were free and on my phone, but not on my Wii U. It is a sacred machine made to play games like the newer LoZ games, Xenoblade, Smash Bros, ect.

Well, following hot on the heels of such masterpieces as The Letter, IQ Test, and Spikey Walls...

This. THIS. Will be coming to the Wii U eShop... This is just... Why...? When will indie devs learn that the eShop isn't freaking Google Play? This isn't the type of game that you'd see on a dedicated console by the company that revived the whole freaking game industry years ago. This crap needs to end soon, before the eShop becomes plagued with these "games."

Yyyeah.........about 90 % of the indie scene is full of those, just look at the app store heck look at PBG's video about it so it didn't surprise me that this crap is on the e-shop.....still I totally agree with you

The problem is, the eShop wasn't like this earlier this year. I mean, it's going to have crap, but it wasn't being filled with crappy games that took almost no effort to make like it is now. With games like this, The Letter, and Spikey Walls, I'm really concerned about the future of the Wii U eShop. All of the indie developers who actually know what the heck they're doing are going to be left behind because this crap is somehow selling well.

I hope this won't be another case like Goat simulator where things that took 0 effort to make gets the spotlight

Is it the same case in the 3DS e-shop?Just asking

Hopefully not all of indie developers would get left, things like Shovel Knight gives me some hope y'know

That's kind of already happening. The Letter got a ton of spotlight when it was released. It was funny then since it was the only real rushed game on the eShop, and it was easy to make fun of, but now it's getting way out of hand. I'm hoping things won't go downhill even more. Indie devs are already starting to treat the eShop like it's a freaking mobile phone store, we don't need more of that.

I haven't seen any games like this come to the 3DS eShop, so no. There are a lot of really strange looking games I've seen on there, but none of them go to the point where they're TRYING to be bad.

Yeah, Shovel Knight is definitely one of the big ones that gives me hope for indie devs on the Wii U. I'm hoping we see a lot more games with that much effort put into them.
