Cucco 1,907 Posted September 23, 2014 Like holy shit not even an opening for firetrucks sake. Grow the firetruck up Sakurai, so what if people watch online videos. 1 OmegaForte reacted to this
Power Jusho 1,783 Posted September 23, 2014 Well, can you count some of the final smashes for some characters like Mega Man and Capt Falcon as cutscenes?
Demyx. 10,064 Posted September 23, 2014 I bet there will be in the wii u version. 1 Cucco reacted to this
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted September 23, 2014 I bet there will be in the wii u version. Yeah, if you're talking about the 3DS version, I wouldn't expect any cutscenes. But Sakurai mentioned that there would be character introduction cutscenes or whatever, and I find it hard to believe there's no opening. 3 Hero of Winds, Exiblade7 and Cucco reacted to this

You're now just realizing this? Do you have any idea how late you are with this discussion? Anyway, I really don't care since Smash bros 64 and Melee didn't have cutscenes. So why should I complain that Smash bros 3DS/Wii U won't get any? I bet there will be in the wii u version. Nope. Neither version are getting cutscenes. No cutscenes? That's just sad. You've clearly never played Smash bros 64 and Melee. Yeah, if you're talking about the 3DS version, I wouldn't expect any cutscenes. I've been keeping up to date with Smash bros news and Sakurai or Nintendo never ONCE mention anything like that. Isaix 924 Posted September 23, 2014 Sakurai's reason for not having a Subspace Emissary in Smash Wii U is really stupid, but I don't think anyone is playing Smash for cutscenes, its not an Adventure game or an RPG,so it doesn't really matter. The 3DS doesn't have that much memory, but the Wii U version will probably have an opening like all the other Smash Bros.

There is the Wii U version that will have cutscenes, the 3DS can only do so much
Dave 5,715 Posted September 23, 2014 Why would there need to be cutscenes? It's not like it's a particularly story-driven game, nor do I think it should be. 2 Jilly Shears and Shulk reacted to this
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted September 23, 2014 Correction: You need to grow up. A game that's all about fighting doesn't require the use of cutscenes. On a majority scale, no one liked Subspace Emissary. The 3DS version alone already uses every last bit of the 3DS' hardware to run, cutscenes would just break it. I'm pretty sure there is at least an opening planned for the Wii U version, but that's it. 1 Tails reacted to this

Jilly Shears 2,144 Posted September 23, 2014 I think it's lame that there isn't an opening movie, but eh who cares. The physics looks like it's better than Brawl and the most important thing about fighting games is how fun they are.

Well it still needs some sort of presentation like every other smash ever 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this
Shulk 8,623 Posted September 23, 2014 Oh no, Smash is ruined, worst game ever. Time to go cancel my reserve. It's a fighting game, I'll never get the big deal over the lack of cutscenes. 1 Tails reacted to this

Heck, the majority people I know only played it ocne and never touched it again, and they only played through it just to unlock the characters. Besides, Subspae Emissary was more of a chore than something that was really fun and addictive unlike the adventure mode in Smash bros 64 and Melee.
